Fabulous! Maybe you could talk more about how elements are “revealed” in another video. I’m new to film making but noticed how it’s more interesting to have elements hidden and then revealed. So instead of just jumping right to the main scene, we have something obscuring or partially obscuring our view. It makes us curious and engaged asking subconsciously “what it that?” Or “where am I?” followed by the satisfaction of the revealed information

Another interesting topic would be (as the audience) what questions are we subconsciously asking ourselves as we view a film and how we use the visual clues we are given to answer those questions. I also thought it was good you brought up visual language. This is something we almost instinctively consume but perhaps need to be taught how to communicate using this language.

Interesting opportunity for a director to try something different too. The converse is the number of action films that have the same opening trope of a flight over water tilting up to reveal whatever the location of the action is going to be - with the sound of a helicopter thwup-thwuping it’s way forward.

Hello. Thanks for another very good reminder! I have a tip for You. Maybe it is done with thought in mind but if not have an advise: I have found out with my own upload that YT "cuts" a second or two at starting the film so in last few films of yours i had to rewind. I recommend having a "second or two" before the first spoken word to "worm up internet connection".

Thank you for this. AND please CREDIT the films you showed but didn't name. Very important so we can go and look at the establishing shots in context! Specifically tell us what movie shots are at the very beginning, 1:10, 1:36, 1:51 and 2:47.
