Self Feeds are underated. Great way to get started and polish mechanics. If you can't hit a self-feed when you aren't moving ? Then practice until you can.

Excellent video for beginners! BTW, BIG congrats on 1977 Wimby dubs! You and Aussie Helen Gourlay beat my fav, Martina Navratilova and Betty Stove (1977 singles R/U)--- and then a Brit named Virginia Wade FINALLY won it! It just happened to be the 100th Anniversary Wimbledon! Talk about grace under pressure! All that aside, your lady student needs to get her thumb properly wrapped around the grip/handle (as you know, this creates wrist instability, but more particularly, forces her to a more Eastern grip). Also, perhaps, she not be so concerned about swing-speed and power (anger management? just kidding :-) --- more about form... All the best!

Really like this demo. i have been focusing on the ball as if it has the line drawn on it. one, it helps me to get moving to the net and it is difficult for opponents to return.

Not to change the subject, but I'm having difficulty hitting over head slams. It seems I'm hitting into the net or straight out of bounds. Do you have a video coming out concerning that problem?? Thanks Gary

I think a high service return slice is OK if it goes deep keeping server back for a harder third ball drop since he has to let it bounce anyway.

Jim, I agree, it can be situational but maybe best left for High 3.5 and up players. My lower level students might struggle.

Joanne, How about showing "short-hop" and move up? It'd be interesting to see what you do when you get "caught" in transition.. P.s. Maybe videos could be edited down to 10 min. Or less?? That said, Love the content.

Uhhh, LOVE, LOVE your videos, but, not 100% behind this one. Putting slice/backspin is tricky as the ball will tend to stay "up" or float out or be mis-hit n fly off court. Pickleball is not tennis the physics behind both sports are what keeps them different. A tennis ball would not carry as much as it's significantly heavier and margin for error is less due to court size etc. That said, you can also purchase 2-tone practice balls that help with striking the ball and rotation.. Keep going, love your work. Kev-
