People don't acknowledge the fact that he was a very good T20 bowler as well. I remember him defending 7 runs in 6 balls in T20 WC 2014. His spell of 4-10 vs MI and 3-8 vs RCB were special
All time great bowler, in top 5 fast bowlers for sure. Those spells on the subcontient where he took 7 vs India at Nagpur and 10 in the match vs Sri Lanka at Galle were mind blowing. Almost unplayable at home, and won 3 series in Aussie and 2 in England. Steyn we salute you!
Dale Steyn so softly spoken but a fearsome bowler and a great one to. He simply had everything possibly the most complete bowler since Malcolm Marshall.
Usually If a batsman gets out by another bowler then he thinks about the mistake he did.But if the bowler is Dale Steyn then the barsman thinks "I did not do any mistake still I am out!""" To me the greatest bowler of all time. It was the pleasure of eyes to see ur bowling. I can't imagine what would u do if u weren't hurt by the injuries. Thank u Mr. for all of your memories. #Love from Bangladesh.
Pff, most fearsome? Dude , Akhtar and Lee were far far more viciouse and scarier than Curtly Ambrose, If you're talking about the most fearsome . It's Jeff Thomspon and the rest after that
@@thebat4763Did you forget he was talking about 21st century because the players you are talking about got much older by then and would get even hit by the likes of newbies, I am not disrespecting them at all as they are best in history but talking about who is still present in the game, Dale Steyn is one of the greatest bowlers
Glenn mcgrath was a scary bastard even later in his career and was still at his peak at the start of the 21st century. Also the number 2 at the moment who has taken more wickets than any other fast bowler in history and started around the same time as Steyn but taken 138 more wickets: James Anderson has stayed at the top even after 16 years. Did you forget him because he's English?
Mick.T. Shaft not fearsome tho he’s brilliant but Steyn is probably this generations most feared bowler along with Johnson and Starc. Doesn’t mean that Anderson is worse than them but Pace frightens and they have skill pace and attitude to scare Hopefully archer can be the next boy to become feared and McGrath was a different generation really he retired 2 years after Steyns debut Again not necessarily the best but the scariest
I havent watched the great west indies fast bowler bowl in live but for me dale styne is the god of fast bowling. Being a fast bowler myself i adore and admire and learn stuff from just watching him bowl especially on flat tracks. All I can say is thank you dale styne for making bowling look so awesome
***Dale Steyn*** In my words he had all the bowling ingredients that a champion bowler had . He had the fluency and consistency in his bowling action of that of Donald, the accuracy of Pollock , the shear pace of Akhtar and the energy of Brett lee.
My favourite bowler of all time along with Zaheer Khan. Being born in Germany I didn’t see much of the greats like Akram, McGrath, Lee etc but Steyn always got me hooked. Love his attitude and aggression!
Ashu Prabhakar my friend u missed out on great bowling ..akram,mcgrath,and ambrose were awesome..but i would put Dale up there his been amazing for my country..believe his the best ever Protea bowler
Carlo Basson that is very true. I have seen the RU-vid videos of these legends but can’t imagine the feeling while seeing them dominate during their prime. Dale has always shown the pride and passion while playing for SA. I love watching him dominate a whole batting line up.
Anderson’s record since 2010 has been as good as any. The tragedy with Anderson in his early days was that his action was tinkered with by the famous English coaching system, and that almost ruined his career. Luckily he realised that in time and went back to what made him so good in the first place.
The skill and hard work translated to him being at the no. 1 spot for a RECORD 263 WEEKS through 2008-2014. LEGEND. HANDS-DOWN the GREATEST bowler of the modern era...
If its possible.. I could watch dis video for a lyf tym.. Surely my biggest inspiration & da gr8st athlete 2 hv ever graced dis beautiful sport... My superlatives will always fall short 2 defyn ur legacy & da impact u had on my life.. Is beyond just words..really.. DALE
what about chaminda vaas, shane bond though bond had a injury prone career but just look at his bowling average!! if he wasn't injury prone he would have been in the list of 500+ club shane bond's bowling average is better than wasim akram in tests and ODI's
If any bowler can be great in England, why havent they been nearly as great as Anderson? (I'm not a fan of Anderson either, but give the man his due respect)
And Steyn doesn't in SA? I just told you his numbers in multiple series in Australia where he did better than Steyn. Oh and Steyn averages just a shade under 30 in 'favorable conditions'. He doesn't have career numbers such as DS as he had a rough first 40 odd games but look at his record in last decade or so it is similar to Steyn.
The best fast bowler of the current era without a doubt better than anderson and Johnson anyday, legend For me top 5 ever 1. Wasim Akram 2. Waqar younis 3. Courtly ambrose 4. Malcolm marshall 5. Dale steyn
Australia no problem, Newzealand no problem, England give me more, India no issue at all, Srilanka demolished, West Indies no problem. South Africa that's my home. Dale Steyn for you. Dominated everywhere in the world. Best strike rate in the history of the game, and mind you 422 wickets ain't a joke. He's the greatest we have ever seen in the 21st century in test cricket. Top 5 greatest fast bowler in the history of the game. Dale u r a legend. World cricket will miss you. Happy retirement.
