This industry should have seen patronage about 30 years ago. Better late than never. This government's vision is clear and they're taking steps to achieve that vision. An indigenous semiconductor industry is going to be a great boon for our national security as well. We won't have to depend on external entities during times of conflict. Sanctions won't impact us. The way we were sanctioned and not allowed access to GPS during Kargil war, we should never have to face such situation with semiconductor products. Modern electronics and appliances use hundreds of chips and this initiative is going to bring all that manufacturing to India. Only a handful of companies have cutting edge silicon fabs (foundries) and they're all in USA, Germany, Taiwan or Korea. This is too much of dependence on just a few countries to power every modern appliance that we use.

The Supply Chain Ecosystem is one of the challenges that India faces. Nothing has materialized since 2021 since the Government advertised on the incentives. Ex: Vendanta - Foxconn Fall out. 19 billion. The wafer fab plants setup also in India has still not materialized . This because the Factory cost anywhere between 1 - 10 billion Dollars - again - supply chain , logistics and still the bureaucratic process is the root cause Right now - there are only assembly plants that assembles the finished products. If we can address these we are on track - this is going to take a decade or 2 to get there.

There is one iitian kejriwal who not able to manage truck to took oxygen from carrier to hospital in delhi in corona time😂😂. And he was asking for pm modi to manage the system during meeting when it got leaked to press by kejriwal to improve score infront of public 😂😂. Kejriwal who destroy reputation of iitaina and upsc officer 😂 just Puting blame on other but taking credit for even smallest things 😂. This man never done office work properly under income tax he just take office in the name of ngo and earn sitting money for 7 years😂. During upa rule anything can happen, dead people get pension, people can do ngo work instead of office work . This kejriwal got seat from private quota ,quota from business man in iit. Some more minister like ashwini should come and lead the technical department of govt.

Have you guys seen potato being made into gold...there is a genius who does that.

In states like Kerala, almost every household has fridge, tv, mixie, smart phones, washing machines, microwave oven, water heater, laptops, tabs, PCs, cars, bikes, scooters and an innumerable number of electronic items which contain chips... these items become dysfunctional after a few years of purchase because of minor reasons... the branded companies which manufacture these products will often have a lackluster attitude to repair them and instead they will push the house owner to buy their new products since these old ones have crossed their warranty period.. So the owners will ultimately give away these products to some scrape collector shops and they will take the valuable chips contained in them and I don't know for what purpose these chips are being used for. So my humble suggestion is do not let these reusable old chips go waste... some committees like Kudumbasrees should be formed and equip technically capable people to collect the chips from the one-time used electronic products from our households and make it available for our fledgling semiconductor manufacturing industry.
