Masterful! [Pentatonix Reaction to Perfume Medley] 

There is a Superfruit video where Scott shaved Mitch’s hair off. I don’t think Mitch’s ever done that again. 😂. Perfume is a Japanese pop group.

"Perfume" is a female trio from Japan, one of the most popular J-pop groups there, and has been performing for quite a number of years. This, much like the Daft Punk medley, is a medley of some of their most popular hits at the time - because Perfume is still performing! Most of the songs Perfume performs are done in Japanese, but every once in a while they sprinkle in some English into the lyrics - hence the combination of languages in this medley. From comments in the original video, both Mitch and (especially) Kirstin did an excellent job in their pronunciation - both got any number of compliments on it! This is one of 4 songs that Pentatonix has performed (wholly or partially) in Japanese - Perfume Medley (partial), Pretender (wholly), Dear My Heart (partial), and Midnight in Tokyo (partial). The last two are collaborations with the female J-pop group Little Glee Monster. PTX has a HUGE fan base in Japan, always try to include several stops there when they do their world tours, and they've performed live on Japanese TV a number of times. While the location isn't obvious from anything in the video, their live concert from Popspring 2016 was filmed in Japan for MTV Japan, and so the video, audio, and camera work is excellent. It's a slightly longer video (about 16-17 minutes), but includes 3 original PTX songs and the Evolution of Michael Jackson. While it's all done in English, the audience doesn't seem to mind at all - and Mitch and Kirstin dressed as anime characters!

They have a huge Japanese following.

I know m late commenting but another one that they do that’s looks futuristic like this one and daft punk medley is their original song Love Again. If you like Kevin and Avi together wait until you watch that one. Oh of course Mitch shines as lead too since it’s their version of a cappella edm music and Mitch listens to a lot of edm.

This was fun! hardly anyone reacts to this one, but it's quite cool. I've seen Japanese speakers commenting on the song and it seems their pronounciation, particularly Kirstie's is really good. Both Mitch and Kirstie love Japan and the culture and speak a small amount of Japanese. More suggestions: Over The River, Radioactive, Run To You (original), When The Party's Over.

There is a Japanese J Pop ladies tech group called Perfume, and this is a medley of their songs The “love you forever” is in English because the band sings it in English. Pentatonix loves Japan. I have seen them on Japanese TV Singing and then Kirstie will say hello to them 😮m Japanese and they smile. One thing on this song is they do 5 different parts at once, almost like a round. Usually we see a Lead and then harmonies and beatbox and Bass. On this near the beginning they all sing/ do something totally different for several bars. They do this in the song Cheerleader as well ( a section of all 5 doing something very different from each other) Papaoutai is in French, And they have Lindsey Stirling ( dancing violinist) in it also with her Over the River and Radioactive. Kevin plays his bass. Run to You and Perfect are great for melodies. ❤❤❤❤❤
