I've actually been waiting a LONG TIME for you to do this one. Hope you decide to play the game too, people LOVE watching people go thru the main Warframe quests, would be a huge boon to your channel numbers too. One of the best games EVER made.
This is a cinematic trailer actually does a good job of representing what you will find within the gameplay. All of the movement is actually possible in game, and those are the in-game character abilities too. Also, there are 57 Warframes now, all of them having a unique flavor and abilities to some degree. My favorite Warframe is Zephyr, which is rare to see but it's a good character, basically a bird with wind abilities. my favorite character would be a bit of a spoiler, but it is connected to one of these beginner Warframes. Also love the channel and the reactions, I was hyped to see this reaction from you.
Hi, Thanks for doing this , if you want to check out more Warframe and get more ideas of the Characters - I'd have a look at the Prime Trailers - shows the scope of the Warframes and the powers/ abilities. I mainly play Nidus , not in many trailers based the power work on the basis of infection/ a biological monster type Thanks again
Nidus main here. Absolutely worth watching the intro cinematics for Cetus and Fortuna. Digital Extremes previously made the Unreal Tournament series, as well as Dark Sector.
Nah this trailer was the iconic one for me...and then there was fortuna. Love em both. Thus trailer he review got me playing warframe and not just every couple months casual
10:29 that's actually a lotus flower. Lotus being the "mother figure" of the game. and the voice you hear narrating the intro. the lotus flower is also the symbol that represent the tenno.
And the voice of The Lotus is the Creative Director (formerly Community Manager), from back when they had to pull from the actual devs for voice lines.
I neat detail is that most of the sounds you hear in Warframe trailers are the actual sounds in game. The ships, the sword slashes, the bullet deflects, etc.
it goes beyond that, no spoilers, but the music they used is VERY important. and its one of those things that, for "veteran" players, its a massive hint, but for those that dont know, will be able to enjoy the music without having anything spoiled.
@@offsetmonkey538 Spoilers . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The track playing is the music for The Second Dream when we, the player, learn what the Tenno are and we get access to our Space Child. The track is called "This is who you are".
I bet with most games you would have been disappointed because cinematic trailers don't really reflect on the real gameplay... but this is the exception, as crazy as the movement looks in the cinematic that's exactly how the gameplay feels.
I love the bit of humor at 13:43, where the Grineer take a moment to realize there's an enemy around, and Excalibur (the ninja guy) realizes he's made a mistake engaging the Grineer in that way. I feel it sort of foreshadows the true nature of the Tenno.
"Excalibur (the ninja guy) realizes he's made a mistake engaging the Grineer in that way." Lol. The Tenno in that Excalibur felt exactly zero real fear for those Grineer.
Probably my favorite game trailer ever, because not only does it get you hyped up to play the game, it _actually feels like this to play._ You're actually doing all this stuff from the word "go"; fighting multiple guys with multiple weapons, performing crazy flips and slices, using your powers in the ways the trailer shows you. Compare to, say, the SWtOR trailers, where the beautiful cinematics are in no way representative of the gameplay.
Oh man Ive watched this trailer a bajillion times and I tear upevery single time. And the fact that the game is absolutely like this, you can do all of this. I love it and i absolutely love Warframe.♡ Always happy to see others enjoying it
Warframe is an older game, but they're continuously updating and improving it, this trailer was one of the steps to improve the New Player Experience, where they also updated the tutorial level. The three frames there are the ones you can pick from to start off as, Excalibur the Swordsmaster, Mag the... well... Magnetic, and Volt the Electric Speedster. The flowers are Lotus flowers, representing the Lotus, a mother figure to the Tenno, the girl is offering a tribute to her. (10:30 the image on the ground is a Lotus. At the end of the trailer you see a symbol above the word Warframe, that is the symbol of The Lotus, which the Tenno adopted as their own, just as she adopted them as her own.) As for the girl herself, to explain what she represents would actually be a spoiler so I'm skipping that explanation, there is an in-game explanation for it. (The music that plays right before she disappears is called "This is what you are") The empire they are mentioned bringing an end to is the Orokin, basically the original people of Earth who created the Tenno and their Warframes. The enemies you see are the Grineer, the clone soldiers that were deployed by the Orokin, who formed their own little empire after the Orokin fell. 11:14: They also have their own alphabet, and the symbols you see on his arm says "Hyden Tenno" a tribute to the protagonist from the game that Warframe was based on, who Excalibur was designed after. EDIT: It's available on PC (Steam), Playstation, X-Box and Switch. You don't need to worry about which platform you play on as it has Crossplay, so you'll play with people from all platforms.
Theres alot more you should see, like Fortuna intro which also has a great song, theres also the prime trailers which show the frames abilitys and sense Octavia Prime Trailer they have a combo of animation and gameplay and it feel great
This game is absolutely fantastic. The music design is spectacular, from the various themes ranging from spacefaring sea shanties to interplanetary chain-gang songs, to their just-released faux boyband hit, "Party of Your Lifetime" by On-Lyne, this game's musical prowess is unparalleled.
They made this trailer years ago as part of a program to redo the new player expirience. The 3 Warframes here are Excalibur,Mag and Volt, the 3 Warframes u can choose from at the start(u can get the rest later on) and it really showcases their abilities and some of the enemies u face ingame. The girl represents The Lotus, the "mother" of the Tenno who leads u through most of the game and story. the game is over 10 years old and still has some of the best and fastest ranged and melee combat u will ever see in a game. Digital Exstremes is also working on another game called Soulframe wich is more fantasy oriented so u could look that up as well.
The girl doesn't represent the Lotus. she is a Tenno. You can clearly see her use transference at the last moment when the Griner show up, also that explains why she didn't die from drowning. the same girl also appears in the New War cinematic trailer where you see her with the Lotus.
If I'm not mistaken, they reworked the new player experience not long after, or at the same time, they released "the second dream", and changed the players perception of the game. The quest needs to be experienced as no retelling of it, could do it any justice. Especially if nothing has been spoiled for the new player up until this point. It completely changes everything you knew about the game up until then, and makes the game feel so much deeper and real.
@@OPTIMUMELITE no, she doesn't represent us either because our tenno is still in the second dream stasis on Lua while the events of this trailer unfold. She is just an other Tenno.
That long cinematic trailer (first one, game's intro) was directed by Dan Trachtenberg, he was inspired by South Korean action cinema. He also directed the best season of The Boys, the first one (went downhill from there).
This trailer wasn't made in house, but they really do go all in on quality when they look for outside work. Almost everything else in game is done by their studio, and they have some really great cinematic style moments and cut scenes that are rendered in game. Also music. They've consistently nailed it with all sorts of different musical styles that fit the quests and areas they're made for. I'd say this trailer and sort of things the characters do is a pretty good indication of the basic gameplay. It can get pretty absurdly fast. If you want to play faster, there's usually some way to do so. Lots of mobility and freedom. Though it can certainly be grindy and the really good story quests don't kick in for a while. But absolutely worth it if you got any sort of time or inclination to get into the game. That said it's also kind of an unintuitive wall at times for newer players. The ideal way to play is with a more experienced friend giving you pointers here and there when you start getting lost. There are always things to do and aim for, that's not the issue. The issue is there are points where there's a million things to try and do and it's not clear which ones actually lead to more stuff or are just an end point in themself for some cool new toys. It's called a wiki game for a reason. Though honestly I wouldn't dive into wiki stuff early on. Can spoil a lot of great surprises, as well as just be overwhelming in itself. Best used sparingly when you have an idea of a specific thing to hunt down. Also lastly for anyone giving the game a go for the first time. All equipment can be farmed and crafted in game. The market does obscure it to a degree, but there should be a blueprints tab on any warframe or weapon. You can buy those with credits and build em with resources. If it doesn't have that, that means the blueprint itself has to be found in game. You can farm and trade with other players for the premium currency. So everything can be obtained without paying in. But you won't really get appreciable amounts til a decent way into the game, or if you're really hard into the trading markets. So do save your starter platinum for buying equipment slots and similar. Also, also, there is no true end game. Much as DE tries, the players will always find a way to trivialize it if you try hard enough with how crazy the tools we have are. The real end game is Fashion Frame. Always has been, always will be.
funfact: you know the scene where you see the second warframe falling out of the sky and then triggers an ability where she starts to magnetize and gather all of the bullets of the enemy before hurling it all back at them at tremendous speed? that was not one of that warframes ability originally, the company who did the cinematic made up that ability on the spot specifically for mag (the warframe mentioned) just because it looked cool and fit her style of gameplay. and digital extremes loved it so much that they made it official, getting rid of one of mag's less popular abilities in favor of the ability in the cinematic. for reference: the first warframe shown is called "Excalibur" - basically a sword themed warframe and is the poster-MAN of the game (as well as many fans unrivaled husbando, you'll see what i mean after playing "The Sacrifice" quest), the second warframe shown is called "Mag" - and as the name suggests is a magnetic levitation, propulsion, and repulsion based warframe (very unpopular in the past because of a meme, but a very solid warframe especially now after its rework), and the third warframe is called "Volt" - which is an electricity and kinetic energy based warframe, basically a speedster that has the ability to shoot lightning and erect directed kinetic shields, and when i say its a speedster, i mean hes unstoppable. with max upgraded mods he can traverse the largest open world map in 30 seconds flat. Excalibur, Mag, and Volt are the 3 warframes you can choose to start with, but there are now over 57 warframes as of July 2024 (not including Primed Variations) and another very popular game that just came out called First Descendant is very heavily inspired by warframe. another game that was based on warframe but flopped spectacularly is Anthem... yeah... remember that game? well i dont want to... leaves me with the same bad taste in my mouth as ArcheAge did...
"Because... because I can't see it anymore. After a while you just can't *see* *it* anymore. [...] Everything is just stuff. That's the problem, you make all of space and time your backyard and what do you have? A backyard. But *you* can see it. And when you see it, I see it."
A few things that haven't been mentioned. Rebecca is one of the developers and does the voice of the Lotus, and is the one speaking in this. They used to do a lot of the voicing in house instead of hiring voice actors. The ability that Mag initially shows wasn't part of the game when this was made. DE added it as a button hold option to one of her existing abilities. There is a visual distinction between the present Grineer and the flashback ones. It is due to their background, so I won't spoil their story if you want to look into them more. It's something that players will notice easily.
The story I heard is the director asked if she could do this and the DE response, typical of them, is "she can now!" They also did this when a fan asked if you could ride the ghoul chainsaw weapon. They love this game at least as much as we do.
8:18 Yes, Digital Extremes, who created Warframe independently, worked with Epic Games in the making of the Unreal Championship games. They also created The Darkness II and DarkSector. DarkSector specifically is what Warframe would have been if they hadn't pursued their dream game. Highly recommend checking out the 2-part documentary on Warframe; it made me appreciate Warframe more and even though it is a totally free-to-play game I still couldn't pick a better game developer I respect to buy microtransactions from, asides from Arrowhead for Helldivers II.
There is also a really small detail that's a huge hint to a lore thing that won't make sense until after like 50 hours of playing, which is kinda wild. The detail is when they disappear and become statues, there is a sort of little energy that comes off them. That same kind of energy is used a second time at a different point in the video...
The incredible thing about Warframe is that there is so much in this trailer that you just do not notice or pay attention to and once you learn more of the story and the lore in the game if you go back and watch the trailer again you will see so many things that you've missed and so much more will make sense and there's an insane amount of symbolism and hidden details you can see just how much love the creators have put into the game
Warframe: A Deadspace pirate Half-life Looter Shooter horror Roguelite MMORPG Star Wars dating sim (well that last part before the end of the year). lol. It's a wonderful game with what is effectively entirely other games built into it.
Seeing this at the start of the game too is perfect as the 3 warframes are the starters, so you get a demonstration of their abilities instead of just reading a description
i absolutely looove this game. I've been playing since around 2017, waaay before this trailer came out and them revamping the prologue quest of the game. This game is made Digital Extremes, the makers of Unreal Tournament and Dark Sector The game Dark Sector is basically a prototype for this. Highly recomend reacting to the prime trailers when you can, they're so fun to watch! It is a Looter-shooter with cross-play amongst most systems. There's alot of parkour, running, jumping and gliding and they're always adding stuff every few months. It is so damn fun! Customizing your Warframes (fashion-frame as its called), make them as powerful as you possibly can or just exploring the multiple free roaming worlds. Highly recomend playing with friends, working together to get resources and blueprints or doing 8 hour survival missions XD! Anyways enjoy your day and have a good one!
craziest thing about the cinematics is that you can actually move like that ingame. there is even a game mode that allows pause mid action and move camera to recreate cinematic imagery showcasing graphics and details. an almost perfect game imo
its so beautiful right, just side note, as you start the game you choose one of the three to play and are immediately starting from where the trailer left off, its one of the smoothest tutorials and transitions I have ever played in my life.
I'm a Revenant main. I'd suggest checking out the trailers that exist for the frame and the primes that have trailers. The older stuff is a bit more simple, but it helps with appreciating how its evolved. Also, the quest cinematic might be something youd find interesting. Since this is basically just the intro cinematic for the very first quest.
Idk if you play games at all, but this game has some nice other cinematics, some in game engine some they commissioned to other companies. However, they are all pretty much spoilers lmao. So youd have to actually play yourself unless you don't care about spoilers and even then, youd lose context without playing.
that overhead shot of the floor isnt an eye, its a lotus. like the flower she lays in front of them. and the one speaking is called the lotus in game and she's very central to the story.
I was at Tennocon when they revealed this trailer, Steve and Rebecca are talking about reviewing it after the artist had crafted it, and their reaction when they saw the Mag frame collecting the enemy discharged lead; Creator : "Wait,.. she can do that, right?" Game Devs : " She can NOW...." SO powerful. Awesome.
yeah, the 3 they show us in this trailer are the starter choices in order theyre called Excalibur, Mag, and Volt, but theyre only 3 of the 50+ warframes you can acquire these days, i started playing shortly after the game was released with the ps4, though i've moved to pc for external reasons but it is fully cross platform play, and i would argue its probably the best free to play game available
He keeps talking about the natural movement in the camera, but as someone who gets motion sickness, I am glad that the motion isn't as big as when studios try to show 'natural movement'.
Great analysis! I've been playing Warframe for years but somehow missed this cinematic myself (it's a somewhat recent video in the game scheme of things I think)
A common joke in the Warframe community is how the trailers (Both this one and the Prime trailers) understate the actual ingame action. Would highly recommend you watch the Prime trailers in order, Starting with Saryn, ending in Protea. (2nd last one was Gauss). It's VERY visible how much they've improved over the years.
I like to think all of the eye imagery is to represent "your own eyes" as YOU yourself are involved in the story of the game. The character we follow is our vessel in this universe and as the "conscious one" we guide our Tenno choices. To understand more of our purpose in this universe you will have to play the game, that is why at the end of the trailer, you can hear the Lotus whisper in your ear, "Wake up," to the Tenno that lies dormant within us; you have to play the game to wake up your Tenno.
Funny thing about warframe: warframe movement in trailers is tame. Then you go watch a veteran and it's like watching an anime protagonist. Next thing you do is imagine them having a monologue in japanese and suddenly half of the infiltrated ship is a graveyard.
Talking about the cyclical nature of the trailer and how the match cut transitions have each segment return to how they started made me realize that a line mentioned later in the game now has even more significance. We end, as we began...
TLDR: Warframe has everything in the best way possible. Go try it out. Playing for years now. Warframe is 100% free! Don't let the market fool you. Yes, you can buy the frames/weapons/stuff/skins from a currency named Platinum, which you buy from real money. BUT it is only an option for those who have not the time for grinding. You can get nearly everything whilst playing the game. Much is tradable so you can sell those to other players for platinum. Thats how I get mine. The quests are fun, the story meaningful and the characters/npc's are unique, it is fully voiced! And the music ... The OST is amazing. The variety of the 52+ Warframes and weapons you can choose from is immense. You can even build your own guns and blades. You can customize nearly everything you own. You want pets to fight at your side? We have Kubrows (the dog thing in the cinematic), Kavats (space cats), Infested dogs + cats, robotic companions such as robo dogs, moas, sentinels (flying robot thingys). You like horses? Warframe has those too. It's called Kaith. How about big mechas to control and blast your enemies with heavy weaponry? Ever wanted a hover board? Get it in warframe. Mine has the skin of a giant, alien dragonfly-thing. Fly your own space ship into space battles! Railjack is for you. Wanna go fishing to relax a bit from the madness? You can do that too, aswell as go mining or catch endagered animals to safe them from extinction. I am not kidding. But the best thing about Warframe is the community. Everyone wants to help you out as a new player, if you ask. Feel alone and lost? Get a Clan to mentor you and you'll be a master in no time. Not to forget: The Dev Team. They are not exclusive, they are actually playing and streaming, doing so for years now. They are Listening and the best I can think of. And All Of This For Free!
It's a hard ask, but if you're able to put in 50+ hours into that game, I would be STOKED to see your reaction (and filmmaking perspective/opinion) on the incredible story aspects in the main quests. This is easily a 10/10 recommendation from me for story, f2p (don't let the market fool you), music, gameplay, and cross-platform saving/playing (literally, it's everywhere lol)
You should check out the prime trailers for them, but if theres any chance you are gonna play the game then dont spoil the story doing any of those cutscenes.
Warframe's gameplay, from my ten years of playing, can best be described as a mix of movement and momentum, with gunplay and some powers that really make the geneva conventions seem more like suggestions. My current favorite warframe, as in the characters you see doing ninja stuff here, is currently a man made of concrete who's powered by radiation. He's slower than these dudes, but he's fun and beefy. The story is batshit crazy in the best ways.
Damn, didn't know people look at eyes with a telescope! lol But seriously though, this is my most played game ever and you should def check out more of their shorts. Every single one of them is like a masterpiece!
I want to see you watch those ingame sequences. I think it is Second Dream, Old war and then New war. then on to everything getting to 1999 than drops this fall-winter
Hope to see you in game, been a LONG Time player on and off. Favourite frame Khora Prime/Mesa Prime. Although most are great. Enjoy but get ready for a at times confusing time. Best suggestion ask the community as they are amazing.
Warframe has a well crafted story and good world building. It is worth playing though for the story itself. It starts off somewhat generically but it gets better the further you get in. It is a journey of coming to understand who you are in this world.
The 3 warframes you see in the trailer are the 3 frames you can choose from at the beginning of the game. Those are just the starter ones. Each one has it's own unique power set. There are many more frames than the ones you see here..
You really need to play it , because the story is really good. I do feel bad , because with this being live service, some of the big reveals we got throughout the years completely changed the story and perceptive in a huge way.
The best thing is you can actually do all that in the game. The Excalibur wall running into a leaping exalted blade slam attack. Can absolutely do that. You can hold cast Mag's Magnetize to do exactly what you see in the trailer. Yanking fools off a dropship with a max range mag pull is always satisfying. Max strength volt speed can get absurd.
I have over 4000 hours in this game and I still love it - you start playing the game exactly where the scene ends - it has cross play platform so you can play it on anything but I would suggest PC - if you put all the vids together from warframe it would go for about 3 hours
My favorite frame has got to be either Yareli or Hildryn. They both are so unique but SO fun in their own ways! If you wanna be a surfer with a manta ray board buddy and blow bubbles? Play Yareli! Want to be a muscle mommy who tanks and burns her victims alive while also lifting them 20 ft in the air? Play Hildryn! lmao but there are so many to choose
I would love to see you play the game. The story is fantastic, if confusing to some. The game has these 3 characters as starters that you can choose from but you can get a bunch more of them through farming or purchase, and at this point there are like 55 unique warframes you can get. They're all free to get if you're patient enough to farm for them (I personally feel if you buy all of the stuff you could farm for you kinda run out of stuff to do, game feels pointless when you have nothing to work toward for me)
Been a Destiny player since 2012/13 and I’ve been playing this game for 2 months and I feel like I’ve wasted 10 years on Bungie when THIS existed the whole time, I do blame the creators for a lack of marketing budget. Now MR14 spent upwards of £100 ($150) because I enjoy the game not because I had to. I will say there’s a lot to critique like 72h wait to build something, no reason to have this barrier for something we paid for or grind for, and the amount of different currencies and parts is INSANE, but it’s still a 9.5/10 for me
Me : text a friend about NieR. Also me, starting this video : (Insert meme template here : Leo on the couch, glass of wine and cigaret, pointing at the TV)
