One thing you may want to add is always put an amazon link or something to any products that you show. I think that would help a lot of people.

This has absolutely has been something we have talked about. I plan to add some links to past videos this week and have them available at release going forward. Thanks for the feedback!

The reason the receiving canister needs to be cold is that putting something under pressure also heats it up. This is described by one equation from General Chemistry PV=nRT (Pressure*Volume = number of moles of the substance*Rate Constant*Temperature) so if the volume of the receiving canister remains the same as the pressure increases and number of moles (the amount of gas) within that canister increases, the temperature will also increase. The opposite happens, to gas canisters when they’re rapidly emptied.

Science for the win! Great info breakdown. Thanks

I think it’s more that lowering the temperature of the receiving canister lowers the pressure within the canister. As the fuel will flow from high pressure to low, you want higher pressure in the providing canister.

you do it wrong...full (warm)on top, empty (cold) under. Remeber...you send liquid not gas. The gas on the top is pushing the liquid gas on the bottom.

We might need to do an edit on that. I appreciate your feedback. Thanks for watching.

You better use white gas camp stove. No matter the conditions, weighs and heats the same. It's not normally under pressure, you pump the pressure up prior to use and it doesn't freeze. It's energy density is far greater.

I've looked into it in the past. I'll have to take a look again. Thanks for the tip, and thanks for watching.

Pure propane is 10 times better with a boil temp of -44 F......I refill all of my backpack cannisters with propane which works great in sub zero temps as long as there is at least a 1/4 tank of fuel.

don't use pure propane in one of the small aluminum canisters. When stored as a liquid in a tank, propane exerts greater (steam) pressure than butane at the same temperature. At 15°C the pressure factor between butane/ propane is >4. (1.5 bar to 7 bar). Never overfill - to stay safe, I go to around 80% of original fill. Put the "out" canister on top so the liquid will actually follow gravity downwards into the empty canister. Pressure will not build up in the freezer but in the hot water. Don't overdo the hot water: if you can't put and hold your finger in the hot water, it's too hot. Never refill a damaged / dented canister.

You put propane into these iso butane canisters? Have you had any issues?
@CrowMagnumMan2024
@CrowMagnumMan2024 3 месяца назад
@@MatthewBlaine I only fill them no more than 75% just because so many people say the cannister will bust and I dont carry them in the hottest months but because I hear so much bs daily about everything I do not trust the babble of comments....Propane is infinitely superior to butane or the iso butane....i am going to do a series of tests that exposes these cannisters to max heat test with propane fill and see for myself......I typically only fill mine half way just because I usually do 3 day 2 night trips....
