Nice video! I do agree with your point in regards to the AR. But i find Skip tends to send offers to drivers with higher acceptance rate. In some areas, it is very true that drivers get nothing or only one offer per shift if their AR is 0%. The higher the AR the more likely drivers get offers. But its just the matter if the offers is good or not.
I FINALLY got approved on Skip. I don't like the offer screen doesn't have a map, and i have to use Google Maps. But I get 50 seconds to accept or decline, so I like that. I also just got an email saying they are going to stop compensation ☹
It's funny. I really like the offer screen because you just have to press on the orange navigation arrow and it opens up. And you have time to decide. And no hidden tips. As for the compensation, we've been getting that email since last summer but the compensation is still there.
On the weekend, I received it automatically from two restaurants where I was waiting. However, I have had times, in the past, where I had to call support to receive it.
If I accept the order and then a minute later decide to reject it, can I do that? What's the time limit and any penalties in doing that? I liked your video and your explanation style is good.
Thanks so much for watching and I'm happy that you enjoyed it. When you accept an order, you can message support to be unmatched from the order. You don't really have a time limit as one second or one minute doesn't change much. They haven't mentioned penalties but, as with the other apps, I wouldn't suggest doing it often. I've done it about 4 or 5 times total. One big thing to keep in mind is that the agent has to unmatch you. This means that you have to actually reach someone. I've had situations where the restaurant said it would take way too long for my liking. I requested to be unmatched, accepted an order on another app... Picked it up, dropped it off and had time to come back to the Skip restaurant..... And I was still on hold with an agent. 🙄
Not really. It could just mean that they're at capacity for that area. These apps aren't what they used to be. Lots of markets aren't busy and they already have lots of drivers. Unfortunately, you might have to just wait for your market to open up. You can try calling them but I doubt that will change anything.
Hi!! I’ve been driving with skip for 3 years and wow a lot has changed, the new concern drivers face is the new trend of shift grabbing apps 😮 and skips lack of clarity on the issue, long time drivers and people not using these auto shit grabbing apps are now struggling to get any work at all, there’s noise online only that when skip catches drivers using these apps the driver has there account closed but there’s no proof of that, for me I’m using skip as a supplement income due too my disability and I’m struggling financially as the price of being alive keeps going up and up, what are your thoughts on shift grabber apps, I’m not standing on a soap box here if I wasn’t concerned about getting booted off skip I would almost be forced to use these grabber apps myself just to have a chance and regaining my income, but there’s no clear answer no path or direction and that’s another issue with skip a lack of communication and clarity no accountability My respect from a Calgary area skip driver
Hiiiii 🙂 I actually lived in Calgary for a yr from 2020-2021. It's really nice out there. I would def move back. As far as bots are concerned, I really don't like them. I know lots of people complain about the schedule and the issues that they have grabbing a shift. Personally, I haven't had this happen to me but I'm also not in a very saturated market.... And I only work part time. I would really hope that these apps would crack down on bots because it's not fair for those that are doing things the right way. I totally understand where your frustration is coming from because it is def a lot more expensive to survive nowadays.
Investment opportunity??? What would make you think this? You're not really investing anything. It's purely a gig type of service. You exchange your time, gas and vehicle depreciation for an amount. It's not a job because you can decline as you wish and not deliver for months 🤭 as I've done 😂😂
If you have another bag, from another company, use that. If you don't have anything, then I would suggest putting on seat warmers and driving quickly lol lol If all else fails, ah well... you tried your best.
What about the report if some is reporting you or some people report you from the skip app do the skip the dishes will close your account if they close how you can open it again and what do you think thanks
I've never run into that situation so I'm not sure how I would handle it. I might either contact Skip customer service or I would just move on to another app.
The thing with Skip is you can only work in delivery zones that are open to you. So if you drive to a delivery zone that you have available and it's busy, you'll be able to get on. If it's not busy, you can set yourself as available and wait until it's busy enough for them to seek non scheduled drivers. It's a total waste of time and you're not guaranteed to get on. So it's def better to schedule. There's nothing to worry about with scheduling. You just set your schedule then if you can't go on, cancel it.
