Welcome to our real estate math tutorial! In this comprehensive video, we will guide you through the concept of area and provide you with the essential tools to calculate area for rectangles, squares, and triangles. Whether you are an aspiring real estate agent preparing for the state exam or someone looking to brush up on their math skills, this video is packed with valuable information that will boost your confidence and proficiency.
Understanding area is crucial in the real estate industry as it allows you to determine property size and value accurately. We will start by explaining what area represents and why it is important in real estate. You will gain a solid foundation of knowledge before we delve into the formulas and calculations.
The area formula serves as the backbone of area calculations, and we will break it down step by step. The formula, Area = Length × Width, will become second nature to you as we demonstrate its application in various scenarios. By the end of this video, you will be able to confidently calculate area for rectangles and apply the formula to solve example problems.
Rectangles are common shapes encountered in real estate, and we will walk you through the process of calculating their area using real-life property layouts. Our on-screen visuals will provide a clear and engaging demonstration, ensuring that you grasp the concept effectively.
Squares, as a special case of rectangles, have their own unique area formula. We will explore the differences and similarities between squares and rectangles, allowing you to confidently calculate the area of square-shaped properties. Through practical scenarios, you will gain the skills necessary to handle square area calculations effortlessly.
Triangles may seem a bit more challenging, but fear not! We have a specific formula tailored to triangles that will simplify the process for you. With the help of an example resembling a triangular-shaped lot, you will learn to calculate the area of triangles with ease. Our visual aids will guide you through each step, making sure you fully understand the calculations involved.
To reinforce your understanding, we will present you with a series of example problems involving rectangles, squares, and triangles. By tackling these problems, you will have the opportunity to apply your newfound knowledge and test your skills. We will provide detailed solutions, allowing you to self-assess and identify areas for improvement.

Thanks for the explanation! May I know if do you also have a video about calculating irregular shapes? Or properties with curves?

Hi. Thank you. I do not have any videos about irregular or curved shaped lots as those types of questions are not tested in the real estate exam that I’m aware of. Is there a certain question you have that I can help you with?

Your are the best (in the #7 why isn't it 4346 ft?) I got the 4346 but not the ft squared.sad face
@JustCallMaggie
@JustCallMaggie 4 месяца назад
If you multiply any two measurements, like in example #7 (82 ft x 106 ft), you will get feet squared. Just like when you multiply 3 x 3 you get three squared... feet x feet will give you feet squared. I hope that helps.
