Hello everyone, here you have the most easy PMDG tutorial! Covering everything from take-off to a full auto ILS landing. This is a beginners guide only by a sim pilot, this is not covering performance settings due to the complexity and the whole purpose of this video is to do it the most easiest way to get you started. I guarantee you can do a full ILS landing after following this step by step instruction video. After you get those satisfying ILS landings going you can dive deeper into the details and start flying this plane like a pro.

I watched the whole video and I loved it. Iv bean looking for a video like this for a while. I love how simple it was and how easy it makes to learn how to do ILS approaches. it feels so refreshing to be watching a tutorial that didn't have like a million steps.

Great idea my fellow dutchman:-) Short ( 30-45 minutes) legs will keep the attention of the audience. The workload during departure and approach is far more intensive, compared to the cruising part of the flight ( ordering in flight meals and beverages, talking about money, women, real estate, monitoring the screens, fuel consumption, chit chat over the public radio, going to the loo at some point for a short 'minding your own business' moment, untill top of decent has been reached. Brilliant stuff mate! I have also done some Autolandings with ProSim as well as PMDG with my full hardware here, but u have shown me some things I hadn't picked up on the other YT vids. FANTASTIC community we have for this, we all show each other things that sometimes "fill in the gaps" in our knowledge. Keep these vids up, LOVE them !! ;-)

Great video! I purchased the 800 yesterday and it’s impossible to fly with in msfs 2020. In VR. It looks a bit like it’s too heavy for my system, which is strange, because I can fly all the other default airliners. Flickering image inside the Meta Quest. Even the sound is jittering now and than. Only with this specific plane. I am very curious how this is possible. Is there some specific way of installing it?

just to add I have the SimonSolutions Compact 737NG Trainer and have it all interfaced firstly fully working with ProSim + MSFS 2020, and now last few days managed to hook "most" of it up with PMDG + MSFS 2020. I do like options............. ;) !!! Much love to everyone in this channel all on this sensational hobby together. These "wives" dont know what they are missing, and that is the truth !!

How come no one ever in these videos flies with the panel lights? I'm trying to see how they look in this model and I can't seem to find a single video where someone is using the lights. They do work right?

I am interested in possibly buying the PMDG and yeah that would be cool. I was curious about some of the small details like that and for some reason these videos don't exist or always get looked over. Thank you for your video, but even your video had them already on. They are dimmable? Also the FMC and lower panel works too? The flood lights over lower panel, upper panel lights work realistically too?

@MHTownsend57 ah like that, they are all dimmable. Including the FMC. The detail is amazing, even behind the emergency release for the landing gear hatch is soms dirt. You won’t regret it! I’m flying the PmDG 738 as we speak.

That's cool! I see in the MSFS store there are 3 different models 700, 800, 900 etc. The smallest one is the cheapest at $40 or so. Can I buy that one and get all the features or must I buy a main package and these are add on planes?

hi, I followed everything you did but the ILS doesn't connect, I don't understand why, I noticed that your 737 800 has a keyboard to write the ILS frequencies, my model bought a week ago doesn't, it has knobs and a digital display I think I have entered the ILS frequencies in the right place, can you help me?

Did you put the frequency in the place where it’s written NAV, it can be that you have knobs instead of buttons. Let me know the outcome!

@aldoquatela6853 correct the frequency of the runway has to be in the active box. Both sides. You can do this well in advance, nothing will happen until you switch on VOR LOC on the MCP ( main control panel, auto pilot)

You set this thing up entirely wrong. You should be using charts, you should have set up a proper flight plan, you should be using VNAV. You are guessing from beginning to end and pilots never rely on guessing. When you do tutorials, you need to show the proper way to fly, not your way of flying. This is not a good tutorial.

That’s absolutely correct but I clearly state that this tutorial is to get you started, to know what can be found where. If you straight away start with charts and performance calculators you need to take monthly subscription some people don’t want/can. And some people are not studying to become an airline pilot but just want to start somewhere flying it. If you feel you can handle more, know the plane wel enough than that’s great! Step it up!

@firetrain3 he clearly states this is something to get people started; this was a very easy to follow tutorial that made me understand the whole situation more, also known as a good tutorial. Other tutorials are more correct, sure - but also quite overwhelming for lots of people starting out. By following this one I’m now more able to understand those “good tutorials” as you call them. Don’t worry, we’ll be “properly flying” as soon as possible 🫡 Don’t forget many people don’t have the time to learn all the ins & outs of “proper flying” - they just want to have some fun.

To the Firetrain3: When you start driving a car as a teenager on some private parking lot under the father's supervision you don't start learning the road signs, all the rules and how to shift gears efficiently to safe every liter of the fuel. You just want to get familiar with the steering, accelerating and braking. That's all you need to start enjoying the ride. I had the same problem with learning PMDG 737. Many tutorials explained EVERYTHING which was just too much! Every plane can be flown even fully manually even without a flight plan and autopilot. When I started I just wanted to know how to turn on engines, taxi, take off, land and after landing how to turn the plane off. Nothing more. I wasn't even using autopilot or FMC or even IRS! :D With more experience you can start doing it as it supposed to be.
