love the video very clear instructions. I am just getting into MSFS and this helps to see the vide and understand some of the terminology. Can I ask is there any information sheets for string up the aircraft and other operational tasks please.
Hi Nick… welcome to the flight sim community! Glad you found the video helpful. I don’t actually have any checklists for setting up the plane etc. it’s definitely something I’ll consider doing though. Thanks again for watching & commenting. Much appreciated 👍✈️
Hey Ralph, thanks for your kind words. Listen, we all have our moments! Trust me, the vids you see on my channel aren’t always the first take 😂 just practice and enjoy - the procedures start to become second nature. Thanks for watching & happy simming 👍✈️
would you mind tell me why you choose categoryA in ILS chart? Isn't categoryA for the aircraft that the approach speed less than 91knot? In this case, shouldn't you choose categoryD ?
Hi, thanks for your question - you are indeed correct, very well spotted! I should have really used the Minimums for Cat C /D, I hadn't noticed but I obviously mis-read the chart whilst recording, but I'm glad you pointed this out so thanks very much for watching!
Hi… thanks for your question. Yep you can choose the NAV Radio panel from within the FMC’s aircraft options menu. There’s 2 options to choose from. Thanks for watching, appreciated 👊✈️
From my understanding the fix 4/10m rings are from the rwy threshold...as stated by a rw pilot ..ie you type in your case "rw24"..then put in the 4 & 10nm rings..because you want to initiate flaps, spd etc from rwy threshold ...not the VOR...what if you have a VOR some distance from the aerodrome?...anyhow nice vid..
Thanks for your kind words and for the background info… I selected the VOR in this case as I knew it was practically on the runway. As you suggest it wouldn’t work for a VOR miles away… you can also drop the RW number on to the fix which is how I normally do it, and I usually go 5 miles just out if habit really - it gives me a visual reference on the nav display where I know I need to be gear down, flaps 15. Just personal preference really. Thanks a lot for watching & commenting 👍✈️
Hey, thanks for your question. Heading is the direction that the nose of the plane is pointing, course is the true direction of the aircraft over the ground. So if you're flying in a crosswind your nose maybe pointing to the left whilst the plane travels forward - a bit like how a race horse runs. Hope this makes sense, thanks for watching & commenting, appreciated.
Thanks for your comment, I hear what you’re saying and I definitely got a bit hot on the descent 😂. I just feel vertical speed gives me a bit more control when required. Cheers for watching 👍✈️
Hi Shawn, In this vid I'm using the LG27UL500P-W as I can record in 4k for youtube which looks better for all the displays & switches in the flight deck, but it does lock the FPS to 30 on the Series X. When I'm just simming day to day I use the DELL G2724D which runs the sim at 1440p and unlocks the higher frame rate - about 80-100 fps. Thanks for watching!
Hey… that’s annoying. Just double check the plane is receiving the ILS signal before pressing the APP button. You can tell if it’s receiving the signal by looking top left of the PFD, it’ll say the frequency and also how many miles to go. Hope this helps get it sorted for you. Thanks for watching & commenting, appreciated 👍✈️
Cheers for the advice man, that’s exactly why I need a first officer! You’ve got the job! I’m blaming the PAPIs not being calibrated correctly on my LEBL scenery 😂
