*MASTERPIECE* Legends Of The Fall (1994) *FIRST TIME WATCHING REACTION* 

Watched this movie for the first time tonight. My mom named me after Tristan. I’ve been told that my whole life and never watched the movie until now. One of the best movies I’ve ever seen.

They just don’t make films like these now. That’s a massive shame as it’s a masterpiece.

One of the best films ever made ... Easily. Such an iconic Masterpiece and doesn't get spoke about enough.

Mutual trauma can lead to inappropriate relationships. Many people look to sex to find temporary comfort in their mourning. I have always loved all three brothers. We have the least amount of time with the youngest. But alfred and tristan are both strong amazing men who deserve love, success and happiness. A full life. All three of these men, well 4 if you include their dad from his previous war experience, have insane levels of PTSD. I love the Native American influence in tristan’s life and their family’s behavior, as a whole. Tristan’s definitely the most unstable and that can clearly lead to violence. I love that this movie reflects how some relationships occur in real life. It’s messy, a rollercoaster of emotion and the search for love, peace and purpose. It’s a story that never goes out of style. I’d love to see more reactions to it.

This is one of those films where when it’s over you ALWAYS let the credits play out and enjoy the music.

James Horner. The composer. He worked with the Director Edward Zwick on a few films and each time it’s cinematic magic. James Horner has a way of conjuring emotion unlike any other.

I highly recommend 1992's A River Runs Through It. ( Brad Pitt ) It's right up there with Legends of the Fall .

Tristan’s mental illness and his love for his family is so well portrayed. WWI was absolutely barbaric. All war is, but the tactics in WWI were above and beyond. It’s a wonder we didn’t end up with soooo many more seriously mentally ill WWI veterans. I love this movie. I cry like a baby every time.

I watched this when i was in Okinawa wth the Marines at 19 years old....it took me on a roller coaster of emotions I've never had....made me laugh, feel love, family despair...it broke my heart ....

I needed redemption for this reaction, as I just watched another where the reactor laughed all through the 2nd half of the movie. So glad I found this reaction and your channel.

Alfred knows he needs to try and keep Tristan from losing it after isabel’s death. But there was literally nothing, I mean nothing that was going to keep him sane. Isabel was the only thing that seemed to keep him grounded. With her loss, tristan let the bear regain control in the end. I freaking adore the ending confrontation with Allred, tristan, dad and the pricks who came to kill tristan in revenge.

The acting of everyone in this movie is top notch dude. You FEEL EVERYTHING, and it's the acting, the delivery, that makes you feel that. Honestly one of the best movies of all time, hands down.

I haven't seen anyone react to this movie before! It really is SO emotionally draining. It's heartbreak after heartbreak after heartbreak. I seriously sob every time I watch it. And the score by James Horner is absolutely *gorgeous* and remains one of my favorites of all time. Such a brilliant sweeping epic of a film.

I watched this magnificent film opening night at the theater, Christmas 1994. I had the posters on my wall and in my 20s, I was gifted the VHS and then the DVD in my 30s, and on Prime in my 40s. This is my first reaction video on it and it was fantastic! 30 years later and I still get goosebumps and cry. And, yes, I have the soundtrack on CD, but I ask Alexa to play it now. 😊💜🎥

I feel that Brad Pitt should've won an Oscar for this movie.

Fun Fact: The older Tristan fighting the bear during the last frame of the film is actually the bear's trainer, and the bear himself is "Bart" the bear, one of the most famous acting animals in cinema history, who portrayed many many film bears in the 80s and 90s. In fact, Bart and Anthony Hopkins did another film together called 'The Edge', which I would recommend if you haven't seen it. It's a great Man vs Nature film about 3 guys trapped in the Alaskan wilderness.

This is probably my top Brad Pitt movie.

What's so interesting in this film is that Tristan's older brother had all this envy of him when Tristan showed the most love to the oldest brother out of all the family. Tristan loved and cherished both of his brothers equally. Sometimes the one you may have negative emotions towards is the very one who loves you the most.

One of my favorite brad Pitt flicks. The highs and lows of his character is something to really be appreciated. Breh was mr steal yo girl and still was the most tragic character in the film. Julia ormond was a sight to see coming off that train too.

This is one of my favorite movies. It’s so good, and it hurts so much. It’s so complicated and a true tragedy. I appreciate you showing your real reaction and this movie always makes me cry, and it’s always because of the love. The scores and acting is impeccable, and it’s so much to process. My mom and aunts always swear that Brad Pitt never looked at beautiful as this movie. It’s an amazing movie.

This movie is one of my all time favorite (in the small company of "The Constant Gardener", "Malena", "Full Monty", "The Others", "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" and and a few others that I can rewatch any time)

I watched this movie for the first time last night and I was absolutely shook. It took me from so many emotions. This is definitely going into my "whenever I need to emote" library! I was born in 82' so I was old enough to have seen it before, I've just never been interested but I'm so glad I watched this now. :)

The 1st time I became aware of Brad Pitt was in “Thelma & Louise”.....

19:17 ...the old one said, when a man and an animal have spilled each others blood they become one... in the beginning of the film, when Tristan was a young teen he cut the claw off a bear... 4:09 and then... 38:26 ... the bear killed him... probably one of the best plant/ pay off scenarios in all of film...

I saw it in the movies in 94. I could tell pretty quickly while watching that it was going to be a great movie. It changed my opinion of Brad Pitt as an actor. If you like him in this, check out "Meet Joe Black" it is another movie that shows what an incredible actor Brad can be!

Beautiful score, breathtaking cinematography and great acting all coming together to tell an epic tale of somebody doing something and then something else happening that no one remembers and then thank God it was over.

This has been one of my favourite films for years, since I was a kid. As I grew I loved it for different reasons and got something new out of it on each rewatch as the years passed and I could relate to various events as I got older. All round class movie.

This is a heartbreaker. Fantastic movie. I grew up in this movie. I think my family had it on VHS! Literally. A couple of scenes I was informed to cover my eyes and I did. Same with “Bloodsport” and “Braveheart”. I was born in ‘85 so these movies had some scenes that were too mature for me. But they were awesome. Also “Last of the Mohicans”. Literally one of daniel day lewis’ most magnificent movie. He needs a lifetime achievement award. He’s a phenomenal actor. Freaking love this movie. Brad is looking extra good in this movie.

***SHELL SHOCK***. I don’t know if there are too many old movies that dealt with the trauma of war but I do recall an old B&W movie that depicted it once. I don’t think they started call the stress of war PTSD until after the VietNam war. As it was just mostly known as the traumas of war and back in WWI & WWII it was called being SHELL SHOCKED . The treason Tristan took Samuals heart out to burry because they did not ( as a regular soldier ) have easy access to transport an entire body back to the states as it could take a month by the time a body would make it all the way back home or maybe longer. Most soldiers were buried there in France or the UK and to this day you can go visit American grave sites as large as Arlington there in France. In the opening and ending of the movie SAVING PRIVATE RYAN the cemetery was an American serviceman’s cemetery not in Arlington but it was in Normandy France.

I actually believe the gap was 6 or 7 years that he was gone for... however I believe the film chronologically made some errors in the way they dated and narrated events...or dramatized his departure...if it's only 2 or 3 years he is gone that isn't long enough to Create such despair amongst the Father or with her...

Can we talk about Sir Anthony Hopkins’ performance??! He was on a “sit down Laurence, I’ll show you something” kind of level. Wow. Post stroke he delivered his lines without saying a word.. He used his body and his face - ALL WHILE *NOT USING* HALF HIS FACE bc his character had had a stroke. I mean…. I mean…. HOW IS THAT PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE!! He is INTENTIONALLY keeping one half of his face PARALYZED AND DROOPING…. WHILE USING THE OTHER SIDE of his face to convey dialogue and emotion.

Early Brad Pitt- " Thelma and Louise" and "Kalifornia"...both r great movies!

This is _absolutely_ a *masterpiece* of a film. I was only about 17 or 18 when I first saw it (and as a teenage girl, watched it primarily because of Brad Pitt,haha) but I was absolutely awestruck by the story, the cinematography, the acting and the score. This film left me so emotional and lingered in my mind for days. I revisited it in my twenties, my thirties, and my forties. Each viewing, taking something different away from the watch; each beat of the film hitting a little differently. As I approach my fifties, I am pleasantly surprised to see a reaction to it. I tell you, watching along with you was like watching it again for the first time. Just something about seeing a person experience this beautiful and tragic movie for the first time. 🩵

I think she cut off her hair so that lock of hair wouldn't be bloodied by the head wound. That way Alfred could keep the lock of hair.
