The cape completes her, definitely! 😍🥰🤩 I have cels of Lynnie and her skin tone is indeed pale yellow. It only looks flesh tone b'cuz how the cells must be illuminated from behind for the animation. 😊 She also needs an open, spell casting hand, imo. But other than that, she looks great. Got mine, just haven't opened her or Webstor yet. 😅
Yeah she definitely needed that cape! I'm surprised they didn't include one and a spell casting hand as you mentioned. Yeah there are images of her having yellow skin for the animation online. @sybaritesphynx8057 Yeah, I found her very early online. I'm surprised they didn't change the body design more. The New MOTU Turtles of Grayskull April figure has a newer body that looks much better. Hopefully, the Cartoon She-Ra has the same body. Hopefully, your figure will arrive soon. I think she looks really cool for the cartoon line aside from using the regular Origins body and no cape. Wonderful review as always ! I definitely think Mattel needs to revist this Evil-Lyn sometime in the future. A 2.0 version with black cape & accurate skin tone colour. Hope Mattel takes a note of it.

The yellow tint of her skin doesn’t really look nearly as pronounced as many other collectors have commented in the Facebook groups. I think it depends on the lighting. This Evil-Lyn looks really good though. I’ve commented that the episode-specific accessories often feel unnecessary, but in this case, the Shaping Staff is such an iconic artifact from the animated series; so I don’t mind it here. But yeah, Mattel really dropped the ball with not including a cape. I’m not one who feels the need to go online to search for custom parts, but I think I’d have to make an exception for this figure. That cape just completes her look. Real head-scratching decision on Mattel’s part for sure… ~Damon
Hey Damon,Thanks for watching as always! The yellow skin is very light compared to the vintage inspired Origins Evil-Lyn that I compared to in this review. I think there are a couple of filmation episodes that show Evil-Lyn with yellowish skin. There are also artistic animation concepts cross cells online that show Evil-Lyn having skin color similar to this figure. However, the final character has pinkish skin in most episodes. I don't mind the color. I like it! The biggest disappointment is the lack of a cape. This cartoon Evil-Lyn should have definitely come with one either plastic or a cheap cloth, one very similar to the custom one I showed and added to her. I didn't want to go hunting online for custom parts either. But after hearing reports that this figure didn't have one included. I ordered one around the same time I bought this figure from eBay. It's a must-have!

I agree with you the cape is a really lazy omission, surely doesn't effect the price point THAT much? They surely could have adjusted Lady Slither's for the job (in the same way they've adjusted Teela's armour) Or She-ra will no doubt have a cape that could have been Evil Lyn's repurposed 🤷♂️ Seems there were lots of options Mattel chose not to use.

The lady slither modified cape would have worked fine, as you mentioned. Some figures get better treatment and more accessories than others sometimes! At least there are plenty of custom options now👍
@Themanchlid yeah it's a great knock on effect from the success of Origins, the amount of custom parts out there, so collectors can customise as much as they want, making the figure just the way they like it. Mattel perhaps unknowingly supporting independent toy creators 😂
I have them all except Clawful and Spikor and I don't believe they have been released yet? I love the way she looks, but kept noticing that something didn't look quite right. She didn't have a cape, that's what it was. Lol So ..I ordered the same one you have a few minutes ago. It's ridiculous that she didn't come with one, but I'm happy that one was available to buy for her. Great review as always buddy!
@BamaTony73 Thanks for watching as always! That's cool. You also have all the cartoon figures at this point. Clawful and Spikor have been shown in the card recently from Mattel. So that tells me they are manufactured and ready to start shipping from the factory soon, which takes a month or two to get to the USA because of transportation and distribution times. I really think this Evil-Lyn looks really good aside from not getting a cape. But there's always custom options like I showed!👍
@BamaTony73 Yeah, the once full carded images are shown on social media of the Motu figures, then that usually means they are in production and ready to ship out from my experience watching and collecting Motu for years now.
She looks great. I love how the cartoon line female characters scale up to par with origins. That’s great news for if and when they release the female horde characters. They will go great with the oranges.

I'm all in with this cartoon collection even though some of the skin tones are off from the actual cartoon and every now and then they could have included important accessories like the cape. But I got that custom one and it works perfectly! I'm looking forward to seeing the She-Ra figures come to this cartoon line👍

That Evil-Lyn looks spot on from the cartoon LMFAO while I was watching this, RU-vid had its recommendations on the side and it had a video from a dude named Mr Home Arcade, just look at the thumbnail for his video for Evil-Lyn and Webstor, WTF LOL

But the custom one works perfect on her! I didn't see Mr Arcade review on these. I know he also had these figures for a while as well!
Thanks for checking out the review! I provided the link on that cape from the Ebay. It took about two weeks to get it in hand because the seller is busy, and custom makes those. But it's definitely what that Evil-Lyn should have!
Another excellent review! A pretty awesome figure let down by not including an iconic piece of clothing! I am guessing Mattel will not include a cape with She-Ra ….🤔

@@Themanchlid Same here, I have a cape on the way but will only be buying one EL figure. If they had done her right I’d have brought one to keep MOC😜 Hopefully She-Ra has her cape but there have been a few weird decisions at Mattel recently, the Collector not having a stand, being an example!
@@sunnyshine2215 Thats cool you also picked up a cape for this figure! I don't even have room anymore to buy two figures so I can keep one in card. Once In a while I will pickup Two. Yeah many things are hit or miss with the Origins and Masterverse when it comes to certain accessories that could really make products stand out sometimes.
I have her on preorder but I’m undecided if she’ll replace my original Origins one. I had to order and return like three or four Evil-Lyns from Amazon before I finally got one with the corrected smaller knees (same thing with Teela), back in the day, so those two will always have a special place in my collection. I hadn’t heard the rumor about Two-Bad in the Cartoon Collection. Man, we better get the Origins version of Two-Bad before they give us the cartoon one! And he better NOT be the SDCC exclusive 🤬
Thanks for watching as always! Yeah both The Vintage inspired Teela and Evil-Lyn with the corrected knees are hard to find online or get the right re released versions. I heard a couple of rumors about two Bad coming to the Cartoon line. The Turtles of Grayskull 2 bop- Steady image shares the Two Bad body, but it looks more like a cartoon version from the images. So thats part of the hints of the Cartoon Two Bad coming. I heard the Vintage Inspired Origins Two Bad is supposed to be a SDCC figures with the ability to change him from Badra to Tuvar like the 200x concept. Will get more info in July at SDCC.
@@Themanchlid I hope they still release a regular Two-Bad single figure on Mattel Creations. I would be cool with missing out on a SDCC exclusive of Badra and Tuvar if I could still just get a vintage style single Two-Bad. Oh well.
Considering this one to replace my origins Evil Lyn because I always hated her head sculpt. Not sure the the esthetics would blend between the lines though. And I really, really wish we could get a spell casting hand instead of all these ski slope females
Thanks for checking out the review. I think the asthetics can mix good with the two figures. It's the colors and mixing parts that will look off. Yeah I haven't seen any Origins female figures that have spell casting hand yet. Only the Masterverse figures get those.
They look very simular in design from what I can see in my light. But at certain angles the upper thigh looks like it might be a little different. It's really close in designs. She really looks great! Definitely an improvement over the vintage Evil-Lyn. The body parts look very alike, but they are different tooling the more I look them. I really like this cartoon line and can't wait to get more figures! Thanks for watching as always 👍
It is true that the skin color could have been less yellowish, although it seems to me that it resembles certain shots from the animated series. Personally it doesn't bother me that much, especially since the rest of the figurine is very successful. I find this Evil-Lyn almost as convincing as the superb Teela Cartoon, and to be honest I even find it the most beautiful version of Evil-Lyn to date. It's just a shame that Mattel didn't provide a cape, because it's an important part of the character's aesthetic but, despite that, she still looks great... And I imagine that the future She-ra (because I'm almost certain that Mattel will release it) will be of the same ilk. This Cartoon line is getting better from month to month, and I hope that we will have as many characters as possible. Thank you for this very detailed review :)

It kind of has a vintage inspired feel to it going back to the original Evil-Lyn figure. I pointed the skin tones out a couple times because I know many people don't like that the colors are off on these cartoon collection figures from the animation. Again it dosent really bother me. They really should have included a cape. That makes no sense for such a cheap easy accessory to include and very iconic for this character. But aside from that she looks very good and I can't wait to see more figures come to this cartoon line👍
@@Themanchlid Like you, skin color does not bother me, and I am also very curious to discover the rest of this Cartoon line, in particular the royal couple (because it would surprise me if Mattel did not produce these emblematic characters), Orko and so many others... @@lionelfernandez8880 Yeah the skin colors work for me. There are a couple filmation episodes were Evil-Lyns skin has these yellow tones from what I remember and also found images online. I can definitely see a Cartoon King Randor and Queen Marlena coming to this line! I heard Rumors of a Cartoon Orko as well.

@@Themanchlid I wish Mattel would of have gave us an avion with the naked Stratos. At least if were gonna buy an almost duplicate figured, add a weapon or something for us buyers.
As far as I know, Evil-Lyn didn't have a dangly bit. The cartoon artists decided to focus on _different_ details on Teela and Evil-Lyn's shared one-piece. (Plus Teela's dangly bit conceals her flash-bang grenade.)
