Hey guys, Josh here! Hope all is well! I hope you enjoyed this video, I wanted to say a big thanks to the knifemakers who have bought the online course. We curently have over 90 students! Honestly, those guys keep this channel going. Without them, I wouldn't be able to make videos with Kyle full time. Sooooo yeah, thanks! Also, without our subscribers, this channel would be nothing. So a big thanks as well to those who simply subscribe! :D You guys rock!
Absolutely stunning dagger and sheath. You are an incredible maker. Yet still humble enough to show others how you do it. That speaks volumes about you.
Damn, what a beautiful piece, I really love the Damascus pattern! And, the finish of the black and gold pieces are just, second to none! The leather work is just as beautiful too!
Again, this is a masterpiece, the Damascus pattern to the tip is soooooooo beautiful, you sir, are a master and I want to see ROYER in the guard in Gold ever time like you did on Excalibur, that alone will be worth 10x the value of the blade or sword in the future because your work will live on and valued as works of art. and they are. Amazing work.
The moment i saw that dagger i got a weird feeling in my stomach, felt a bit like fear. It was so amazingly beautiful, it was of royal quality and i felt honored that i could see it. It is without a doubt the most beautiful dagger i have ever seen.
Beautiful job. I like less chunky and spin-e pokey wheel . Your brother does a great job on video production. You guys are great. Wish I could buy one of your beauty knives.
Hello, Kyle and family! Here is Marco, from Brazil! I'm waiting for your next video! Love to watch and learn with your skills!!! One of the best bladesmiths I have seen!
I been wanting to learn leather work instead of always doing kydex. You sir made me realize it’s not as hard as I thought it was. More specialized tools needed for an more efficient quality job, but that goes for everything.
Honestly! great job! well done! every time you make a project I know it will come out great, one request please! make a catana if you dont mind.... I know that you will make the best catana I ever saw
I have a bowie knife I never finished because it needs a leather sheath(I always use kydex), I keep putting it off & doing other projects. This might be the sign I need to just go for it(after watching this video a few more times). Just set up the cameras & give it my best shot. That dagger looks sick, hope all is well. Take it easy...
You mentioned in a previous video that you were going to "re-surface" your carbide file guide. How did you do that? New Fresh Carbide Endmill? Cheers sir! I've learned so much from you!
Some how ive only just found your channel and i love it. Ive binged a good majority them and you always manage to come up with beautiful knives even if it made of a shovel. Yall have been a huge inspiration on my knife making career keep up the good work.
I honestly cant think of what you improve on your knives to make it to a million dollars, but i think if you work on engraving and make a metal sheath with gold inlay you could end up selling a 500,000 dollar knife and a 500,000 dollar sheath. Maybe this can help? Im just a 15 year old talking out of my ass. Sorry for the comment spam
Hey thanks my friend. Really great to have you hanging out with us all 🔥☕️ Good to be part of your journey. Go big. And bring some people along with you as you go. It’s more fun that way. And above all make sure you enjoy your journey . Chao. Dad
I’m not a big fan of doing leather but it’s a necessary evil and the time it takes is stopping-the forge in my mind. Thanks for even sharing your patience with this medium.
You can really see how your guard shapes are evolving with each project. Have you thought about doing a Japanese style tanto at all? It'd be interesting to see your take on it
Stunning job on the sheath and knife Kyle💪👌, amazing work and I can see you pour yourself into each thing you make! Josh... Another amazing video and love the sound tracks 👊🤙 Dad... Love the rolling time lapse platform! Great job!
Boys you "NEED", to do another project series. Like the sword. The vids are getting a bit dull I'm afraid. The sword build was one of my favourite things to watch ever on RU-vid. I know you've been busy but this lockdown would of been the perfect chance for an amazing build series. Keep up the good work 👍😉
@@KyleRoyerKnives hope you didn't take offence, your one of my favourite channels and always excited to see Kyle's work. Can't wait for new project. And hope your all safe.🗜️⚒️🗡️👑
@@KyleRoyerKnives good stuff, I'll tamper around with my drill press speeds. To be honest I ran it on low and was okay, but I before this I would punch them out by hand. So good looking out.
Thanks for your shear Royer, but this sheath can be better。。We usually use wax thread or twine to make the leatherwork, and the thread is not finish the stitches like that。。wax thread is Nylon ,so you can fire it with a lighter then flatten while still hot。I think twine not fit to make shezth, because it's not very strong, usually to make wallet or something need to be exquisite。I‘m still learning so I can‘t tell you much。 hope to watch your next knif
I’d encourage you to use pricking irons and saddle stitch instead of the drill; you would then have a sheaf to match the quality of your knives. Veg tanned leather also has less of a tendency to react with steel than chrome tan, hand stitches better and undyed would open a world of choices in finishing it.
Hi bro dino from england im lving y work sir mazing to sit and whach u work at y craft keep them videos comeing sir lv whaching uu work masive 👍👍👍up stay safe lv to y family from dino
I use my drill press to drill my sheath stitch holes and they never come out as perfect on the underside as the top where I start the holes, is that dremel tool somehow helping you with that? Thanks.
Thanks Bryan. Great question. We are going to put an online course together. You may find some helpful vids back at Kyle’s last sword build. Team Royer
The sheath is absolute perfection just like the blade. I vote for Kyle to be appointed as the official smith to all daedric princes, Sheogorath already backs this proposal.
kyle, your work is exemplary and obviously a knife as beautiful as that will never be used, but would not a belt loop on the sheath just have set it off do you think?........
Wouldn't a J roller work better than a hammer? I used a J roller on the leather lining I was gluing into a wood scabbard I 've been making. and it worked great.
Another well produced and informative video, good on you Kyle and Josh! How many hours did it take to make that outstanding dagger? It's a real work of art. The sheath looks really good as well, have you ever tried kangaroo hide? Not sure if kangaroo leather would look as good, but it is an extremely strong leather. Best wishes from '' down under''.
You should play a prank on the future archaeologists, hiding a blade like that somewhere it can be well preserved and found thousand of years in the future. And along with writings of it's magic powers and how it was used in wars and stod up to our modern firearms and such.
My dear first blacksmith, I am a blacksmith from Iraq, very simple and I only have an anvil and some small hammers. I love making knives and more my attachment to this craft whenever I look at your great works, but the possibilities are not available. I hope to get a large mechanical hammer to help me in my work even if it is old, but the matter is Unfortunately, we do not have it in Iraq, and I do not have the possibility to buy it from outside the country, so I came to you to help me get one, and I will pay the amount of my production, so can you lend me a hand in this matter and you are the first mourning
You have AMAZING skill & TALENT!! One thing though, start using the PROPER names & terms for tools&use. Without those you come off as a "hick". Don't let that detract from your AMAZINGNESS!!!
Hey thanks Daniel. One challenge is that we all have a little hick in us that comes out from time to time. Blame Josh, it could have been fixed in post 🤭🤣😆🤪😉. Chao Team Royer
@@KyleRoyerKnives Glad you took my comment well. I had trouble trying NOT to sound like a d**k. It's just that I hold professionals in high regard and It's a bit of a thing with me. If we both work on a little, we'll both be better for it. thank you for the reply.
