When G2 feels right, be it a year, a few years or more from now, what I'm most excited for is for you to experience how the builds evolved. The art of technic integration in a human shape, new gimmicks, new types of articulation. I recently rebuilt most of G2, and forgot how advanced the designs were, mechanically and aesthetically. Constraction was evolving SO FAST in just those couple years, I'm still upset it was canned... but less so for the Bionicle aspect, moreso that technic would stop evolving that way. As for everything you've covered so far... thank you.
Thank you for the comments Nick! Looking back on the gap between G1 and G2, there's an unbelievable progression that happened for Technic. To your point, it is more so sad for the Technic and constraction loss more than it is just for Bionicle
Part of the journey is the end. Man I loved being a part of this start to finish, thank you Christian for bringing the biggest part of my childhood to the forefront for so long. Can't wait to see what the future holds Edit: 1:55 holy shit my comment is actually in the video. I'm truly honored man, much love.
I was the same way as you, Bionicle "phased out" of my life, until just a year or two ago, I decided to save what I can from the old boxes in the attic before they get thrown into the trash or given away. Thus I rediscovered not only Lego, but Bionicle. After that, and finally learning the entire story (didn't really had internet accessibility when I was a kid and didn't know english as well that time), I was both happy to just as you said, not just relive the magic, but stand in awe at the community that's still active to this day. Though yes, I'm sad as well of how much I missed, I remember seeing the Mahri wave on the shelves, but didn't really cared back then, so now although I'm lucky that I can search for used sets, I'm having regrets on not sticking with Bionicle, and experiencing the Ignition story line, getting some Mahri and Phantoka sets, even the glatorian Mata Nui that I'm searching for now. All in all, it's so cool to discover everything, even if it's many years later, and big thanks for sharing this journey. And yeah, see you with G2, keep up the good work! 😃👍 Ps.: Yeah, I'm a bit late to this video too, well it is what it is :D
Although bionicle ended the year I was born, it still feels somewhat nostalgic even though I never actually owned a set firsthand, I recently got into bionicle, and it's easily one of my favorite themes, the overall design of each set is amazing and I wish I picked up the g2 sets in stores when I was younger bc jees they go for a lot now
I discovered this channel recently while my mom was in the hospital, and these vids truly helped me get through this rough time as bionicles are some of my favorite childhood obsessions, so thank you for letting me relive my childhood and letting me escape this crappy situation for a little bit of time
Bionicle truly is timeless. What are we now, 14... 15 years later, and still remembered? Bionicle was always ahead of it's time, and congratulations on now owning all of the O.G. sets!
What a moment! As a former G1 purist, I do have to say that the G2 Bionicles were quite pleasant all the way from the build to the design. The update pieces are as sturdy as ever, and the masks are really spicy. Hopefully you'll take a look at those before too long! Great work throughout the years 😎
The community is genuinely why I've had such a strong connection to bionicle whether it was stop motion and music videos in the early days of youtube to self driven projects of the modern day Its quite phenomenal how such a series lives on strongly so rest aside we'll wait as long as you need to return
Sad Bionicle reviews have hit the end but was a great nostalgia trip. I think a cool idea for future content would be pre Bionicle set reviews like slizers/throwbots and roboriders. Also some system set reviews like exo force and vikings ect.
All journeys must come to an end, but this time, there is a new beginning as well. There will be challenges to face and enemies to fight, but I know you will overcome. All that has gone before, my friends, has only served to give birth to this new day. Let unity, duty and destiny be your guides. Be well, be strong, care for this world and for each other. Farewell." -Mata Nui
damn...that title almost gave me a heart attack lol. I am very grateful and excited that we can continue to gen 2, but you can take as much time as needed. You've already reignited my love for bionicle with this series, so you deserve a break. :)
My man YOU are the inspiration! Without your series this one would have never existed! Truly one of the icons for the Bionicle community, it's been a blast interacting through these last few years!
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching all your Bionicle reviews. A great throw back but also I love hearing your thoughts and commentary on G1. Looking forward to seeing what you got in store.
Thank you for making this series of videos, I spent all week watching them just for the nostalgia. The bigger sets were my dream toys back then and I couldn't get them because of the price. Not that I can get them now because of the rarity, but at least I get to see them in your reviews and remember about the good old days!
This was a wonderful first part of the journey! It is thanks to these videos that I made the decision to rebuild my collection! I've parted ways with my old childhood sets long ago, but after watching all of these reviews, I felt the urge to get my hands on these figures and build a shelf with them. At the end of November, I came across all 6 Toa Mata on a bragain sale with their canisters, as if it was fate, and I bought them. They're the first of many sets to come and I'm all for the ride, thanks to your awesome vids. Can't wait for G2!
Seriously, when I saw your videos and saw the quality and effort you put into them, I decided that you would be my favorite bionicle reviewer. I will miss the mata nui mondays. I think I would need to do reviews of the play sets that came out from 2005 to 2007.
It was amazing to be a part of This Journey! I believe i joined in on your Second Mata Nui Monday video, and i’ve been watching (Almost on release time) every single video! Bionicle itself is and has been my favorite Lego Series since 2nd Wave of Toa’s, and i’ve owned a lot of sets (some entire Waves) of Bionicle Ever since! (I’ve even won Building Competitions when G2 was a thing, and won the entire Lines Twice)! I Would just like to say THANK YOU for keeping the Bionicle Dream Alive, and i can’t wait for G2 Reviews 👏🏻
I respect with all your dedication and work on every Mata Nui Monday and also it really bring me the best nostalgic moment for every sets you have ! KEEP IT UP THERE !!!
From beginning to end youve truly encapsulated everything i love about bionicle in your videos. Thank you for making these reviews and letting us all relive the glory days even if we dont actually have the sets ourselves. Because of you and your channel i finally decided to finish collecting all of 2005 as a start to hopefully my own grand archive of bionicle sets. Where ever you decide to take the channel next know you've already done the greatest service possible to this community. Unity, Duty, Destiny.
The fact that you sold some of these nearly mint sets back to the community was also something truly amazing. Some people out there now own the very sets you used for these reviews. A piece of history really.
That was always the idea behind that! Good prices for the sets so that others could enjoy the sets rather than loading them in boxes and putting them in an attic
Thank you for all of this, really. Bionicle is a big part of me. I lost my collection long time ago and there is no day I don't miss them. Ill never forget that christmas when "Santa" brought me all of the six toa mahri, or when my grandpa gave me Vezon and Fehrak for my birthday. Thanks to you, I have revived the emotion and joy of unboxing an all new set, and I could see how amazing are sets I ever wanted like Makuta 2003, Takanuva 2008 and Toa Mata Nui. Congratulations for coming too far with this proyect, and thanks to all the Bionicle community. Mata Nui is alive, more than ever before.
This is a great way to start a new year. Chiberus released his second moc showcase. Maniamac1613 finally released the teaser for Biotube Cataclysm colab (after 3 years of waiting). And now Mata Nui monday finale. I am very happy. 😊
I remember when i first looked at thee videos, the nostalgia was magical, isnpired me to buy makuta teridax, most pirakas (still hunting for vezon and reidak) and maxilos and spinax, i can't find words to say how happy i am to have walked this journey, i swear, these last years have been really fun...
Started watching these reviews a few days back going through the main playlist because of the nostalgia. I must say I feel quite fortunate to have found such a quality channel featuring so many of my childhood toys. Especially in such high quality. I'm gonna be honest. I was hoping that this channel was a bit older seeing how good it is and that it also features videos of my other favorite Lego line, Hero Factory. Perhaps one day there will be reviews for those ones too. All I can do is ask for it and hope :D Thank you so much for all the entertainment and keep doing what you do because you are bringing so much joy for so many of us.
Appreciate the content, could never get them as a kid and, for the time being, it's too expensive a hobby as an adult. But it's been nice enjoying them vicariously through this series. Still binging it as we speak!
Everything had to come to an end at some point. Thank you, very much, for such amazing series! I always watched your reviews upon buying new bonkles for my collection!
I was cutting onions before this, why must you make me fill my house with tears but jokes aside... Thank you so much for coming up with this series, you inspired me (or most likely all of us) to get sets that I never had before as a child (my first bionicle sets were from Voya Nui era, few Pirakas and 1 Inika). You made me understand and appreciate the lore of this franchise. I'm getting Toa Vakama tomorrow and hopefully I can collect more sets in the future
THANK YOU for putting this content out! What a great series!! I can’t wait to see what you have in store for 2024. Born in 1995, and I grew up with Bionicle, Lego Star Wars, Lego Harry Potter, and more.
Litterally found your channel tonight have ive binge watched from 10 pm to 2 am. One of the most genuine creators ive seen in a long time and has made me want to go out and buy some old bionicle. Very excited to see your new content and the gen 2 bionicle, as even if it was hated i still thought it was great. Cant wait to see what you have in store for us all
Though unity had brought us together, it is proper that our destiny thou lead us to our true duty. genuinly, thank you for making this series, and I don't care how long it will be till your next upload, but I'm just glad that its gotten this far.
Such an incredible series. I wish Lego would continue the original Bionicle series and see life after Mata Nui and Makuta’s clash or delve into the deeper lore before Metru Nui. I wish your channel the best and hope it continues to grow for 2024 and beyond!
Been watching almost since the very beginning, and I haven't disliked a single video you've released. Very much looking forward to see what comes next, as well as anything non-Bionicle that you might release. :)
Shit dude, job well done. This series was great and definitely lives up to the classic reviewers. Also the super clean production definitely breathed new life into the community. Definitely staying tuned for more, happy new years dudes.
Thank you for everything so far! Wow, what an amazing channel, you've done an amazing job sparking joy through the last few years. Thanks so much, I'll always come back and watch these every so often. Can't wait to see gen 2, this later but of gen 1 and all of gen 2 is completely alien to me. I'll patently await the rest, just know you're fantastic. Thanks again.
No llevo mucho tiempo coleccionando bionicle, pero tus vídeos me han parecido una absoluta maravilla y son gran parte de lo que me ha motivado a seguir coleccionando. Muchas gracias por hacer estos vídeos, espero que sigas así.❤
Over the course of the entire theme, I had roughly 87 sets, with at least one from each year, except 2002 and 2010 oddly enough. The highest concentration of sets I had was between 2006 and 2007, the former of which I had 22 sets from (including minifigure scale sets), and the latter of which I had 17 sets from (including minifigure scale sets). 2003 and 2007 are often contested as being my favorite years of the theme as a whole, though for somewhat different reasons.
It was a great series. I didn't always agree with the rankings, whether I felt they should be higher or lower, but none of that mattered because you got to have a unique experience that you rated yourself, as well as giving others such as myself the ability to relieve the experience vicariously through you with a professional, well lit, well shot setup. I appreciate the sheer amount of work this was and hope to continue seeing more from this channel in the future!
G2 was kinda my childhood but I only got the Ice Guardian or whatever it's called. I watched the entire series, and I was shocked to see that with such level of quality, montage and everything, you aren't like a 5 mil channel or so. Good luck! P. S. This really felt like modern Eljay's Recap Review!!!
So glad to be starting where I'm at with the channel! One day it'd be great to look back and see how much of an impact Bionicle could have for the future
I thought you were about to quit because of the tone of the video in the beginning, just had a mini heart attack. Besides that, amazing video brother. Love the channel and everything you do. We are here for the journey and for whatever comes next. Take care and thank u.
I remember getting the complete toa mata around the same time as the toa mata episode then obsessing over the mnog makuta and what he meant, the kaita , the gold mask in the sundale , infected kanohi , 7th tribe ,possessed lewa, how when you think about it the golden kanohi were useless and just more Its weird being able to emulate the nostalgia for something i wasnt around for but hey its just part of loving bionicle
I can (somewhat) blame you for getting me into the Legand and legacy of the Bionicle years even after g2 thanks for helping make me a fan (and also a broke guy)
I have a sealed toa mata onua and I’m debating whether or not I should open and build it. I’ve owned toa mata in the past, but I have never gotten the experience of opening a canister set and building it. Should I?
Do you have plans of reviewing the Lego System Bionicle playsets? Ive never owned or really seen much of them. I think it would be cool to experience through your reviews.
My favourite Bionicle is Toa Lhikan! Now I finally got him and Kikanalo! I don't think this set was released in Sweden. So I'm probably the only guy in Sweden who got it.
Did you hear the rumors that Bionicle might come back in 2025? If those rumors are true I think it should be a soft reboot: G1 continuity but on a different planet, have G1 characters show up in recurring roles or cameos, and have it where new fans don't have to get cought up with the lore but there's still references that older fans would understand.
Anyone thinks he’s gonna do another sale like he did for the 2001-2007 sets? I saw someone on eBay using pictures from his videos for sets but I didn’t wanna get scammed
