I’d imagine if Bionicle had a role-playing game, the Manas would be the overleveled super bosses patrolling the overworld at the beginning that steamroll the player instantly if you get too close and you could only stand a chance during the endgame before the final boss
The packaging for these always seemed really wasteful, boring designs and fragile 2008 sockets didn’t help. Easily my least favorite Bionicle sets. Even the Rahaga had a fun play feature and awesome part recolors at a lower price
I had this set as a kid when I was 8 or 9. I painted over the mask with a chrome paint sponge because I didn’t think the pearl gold mask was “shiny” enough
I agree that Sidorak is a way more sleek design than Keetongu. The latter feels unfinished in a few places, like half an arm with a stick attached to it for a blade
5:50 - The batteries actually are replaceable, you just need to open up the piece with a very thin flathead. I got a Piraka used recently, and I was able to replace the battery after just a handful of minutes.
hydraxon is an awesome set. i really wanna make a revamp of him that adds sone details like some dekar colors and some hero factory breakout cuffs so he really looks like the jailer.
I have always loved these lil' disc-shooting, sword-slicing transformers! Not only are they super adorable, but the Vahki Torso and Waists are the two greatest things to grace Aqua Magna.
I remember me and my sister collecting all 6 of the Bohrok Kal at the beginning of 2003. Little did we know, my Kohrak Kal set came with a rare white-metal Krana Kal.
I remember when me and my sister were entered into a promotion being run by Toonami in late 2003 and both winning second prize which was one of the 6 Rahkshi sets. I got Guurahk while my sister got Kurahk. I still own those two to this day (I inherited my sister’s Kurahk).
