Am proud to be a Ndebele the grand daughter of lobengula. When i was in form 3 all the schools in matebeleland north zimbanwe organised a ceremony to remember our father. We went to the river shangani where king lobengula disappeared. Bayethe
It's not a movie. it's an 8 part series called Rhodes, The Life & Legend of Cecil Rhodes. these are just clips cut from the series that involve the Ndebele. I watched the series and its very good though.
@@DADAMANism not bad hey , so do you think for Shaka was good .who made Shaka to more famous ,it was king Mzilikazi who made him be known cause he produced military skills in Shaka's army
The people living in what is known as Matabele state in Zimbabwe are often referred to as the Ndebele, AmaNdebele, Matabele or Northern Ndebele. They are factually distinguished from the Southern Ndebele in South Africa who speak a different language and culture. The Ndebele in Zimbabwe are the descendants of His Majesty Mzilikazi Khumalo's followers who originate in what is today known as Kwa-Zulu Natal South Africa. There are some who's ancestors originate in other parts of Southern Africa as many joined Mzilikazi in his journey but their language and cultural arrangement is identical to that of the great Zulu nation found in Natal. I may be wrong but in My opinion, it would be more historically and culturally accurate to either refer to them as Northern Zulu's or call them by another name such as the nation of Mkhwanazi in the alternative. That being said, I am fascinated by their culture and their heritage. Much love and respect to the Mkhwanazi people. Bayede!
I am hearing that for the first time but I seriously doubt your definition of mahlabezulu. The word mahlabezulu means thunderstorms. Isiqalo salon leligama mahlabe means woe. Yes Ndebele people are on record addressed as mahlabezulu. Mthwakazi means beautiful. How befitting would it be that they named the new Zululand uMthwakazi
not Zimbabwean but Mthwakazi. Ever asked yourself why Matebeleland has its own reserve bank from way back? There is even a well documented border that separates Mthwakazi land from the inhabitants of the north, the Zimbabweans
Umagagane my grand father was leading a platoon towards masvingo in pursue of king lobengula herds of cattle when he was told to withdraw bulawayo was in flames the king has fled thts how we got rich my grand father handed some of the head to u Nduna u Malaba his uncle and kept some for himself Ism proud of tht
One thing hurts me the most about our kingdom is the fact that Ndebele people are so loyal and easily get carried away. We trust much in our word without knowing the other side. Here our warriors surrendered IZIKHALI to the whites ngomnali. In the same Manner, ngempi YENTUMBANE ZIPRA FORCES HAD TO SURRENDER AGAIN ngobaba UNKOMO. Kungani kwanjalo? I HATE WEAKENESS, FOR IT CURTAILS DEATH. MOREOVER, THOSE WHO FORGET THEIR HISTORICAL ENEMIES ARE BOUND TO DEATH! . Sasilibinza, sesiyingcosana.
Remember this is the story as told by the settlers. As usual the History is correct according to who tells it. We would have a totally different story.
@@blessingmlalazi2875 ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽... Then someone comes from greatness.. lol. To know your direct answer ancestor is amazing in itself. ..Let alone it being the King of the Zulu.
I didnt make the original. I took every single clip from the mini-series (hours and hours of it) and put them together, so we could watch the amandebele in one go. as they were the best bits, mfewethu
I worked in Matabeleland at Mabutweni. That is exactly why Smith decalred UDI so that the poeple of Rhodesia could all be free and one prosporous nation without England. Mugabe a Shona proved he could not rule and look at the mess today. Nkomo on his death bed said his biggest mistake was not siding with smith against Mugabes forces. The country would be different place today call it what you want but its true and everyone honest enough to admit it will agree. So sad, Oh so sad. Mzilikazi and Lobegula where friends with Rhodes, not the rebel Englishan and that is why today the Ndebele still protect their burial sites. The Shona dont care ansd use red Barrets to still hate and kill the Ndebele.
Mzilikazi was one of Shaka Zulu indunas but for some reason he run away to the North and Shaka never tried to follow him and punish him for disobedience, Mzilikazi the Great warrior created His own Kingdom. BAYETE !!! I'm not African okay.
Some generals did try to punish him by sending warriors after him. The last group which was on his trail stopped in Botswana, hence how Zulus ended up in Botswana.
They clashed, not once. But Mzilikazi was always a better Military man. All his Military genius unfortunately has been credited to Shaka, since Mzilikazi for some time was under him and loyal to him. King Dingane even went after him at Transavaal and was utterly defeated. Bayethe!
The Ndebele warriors finally matched the colonial army bullet to bullet that must be at Tshangani river where major Johnson and his troops were neutralized. The movie directors made an error Lobengula's remains were never found and he didn't commit suicide.
Because those that eventually conquer re-write history to suit their own designs, and hence undermine truth, as they seek to replace that culture with their own. I, am a Cornish man of 61 years. The English took from my people our language, and replaced it with theirs. They killed and starved my people in the 1400's, they took our mineral wealth for their own. We were too few to resist them for long. They were well versed in treachery and lies and cruelty before they set sail for Africa to impose their iron hand on her peoples Tina. Such were the English that the Cornish suffered under.
Well as an American I’m surprised to find the great king Lobengula depicted in film. I only just recently learned about the Ndebele. The king obviously cared for his people and was cheated by Rudd, Rhodes and many others. Lobengula is depicted very honorably in the history book diamonds, gold and war: the making of South Africa. I wish I could read more about him and his times.
@@xeshandlovu8084 lmao what kind of history is that? Zimbabwean Ndebele is just a mix of isiZulu and a bit of IsiXhosa and South African Ndebele is like a mix of Zulu and Sesotho Sepedi and Setswana
INkosi uLobhengula...Ingqungqul' emadol' abomvu ngokuguq' ezingazin' zezitha...I hate it when foreigners try to tell us how to remember our kung who they erroneously refer to as "Lobengula"
My mum hails from Matebeleland and my dad is Manyika from Nyanga. I don't know what it is in those days ndebele women if married to Shona was mostly Manyika men I love my ndebele side of my culture. Stand up people if ever I met one in the world
The Only Fighter Where Kings are Concerned it was The Zulu King Shaka, this Ndebele King gave in too easily and defeated too easily too...Really not impressed by an army that decided to be ruled by a white man and giving him the entire land mxim
😂😂😂😂 konje kungani ninga veze Ikhathi zoMfecane when Mzilikazi was busy raiding and killing people? BaPedi BaTswana BaSotho have nothing nice to say ngaye... show us farming activities, mining... hay lento
