Dick Martin, Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Jody Donovan, Richard Dawson, and Fannie Flagg. With Technology, my friend was able to put in another advertisement at the end of the GSN Crunch. What do you think??
Jody Donovan was a singer-wannabe that lived with Richard Dawson for 3 years. They appeared on 'Tattletales' as husband and wife and were later criticized for doing so but Dawson said that they had intended to get married so it was justified but that marriage never took place.
The end of this is the only footage of Brett & Charles' reunion on The CBS Early Show now. I went on the Wayback Machine and found some old Match Game sites that had it but the video links weren't salvaged, and someone had it on RU-vid a few years ago but he closed his account. I wish I had been into Match Game 10 or even 6 years ago so I'd have known to watch it. :( I missed out and this is all I can see now (unless someone somewhere else has it, in which case I hope they put it up soon!)
Richard always loved the ladies. Network made him kiss non-white women on the cheek. Then a few years into Family Feud, when Family Feud became a popular and well rated mainstay, he said "screw the bosses". From that point on he kissed any woman, regardless of race. on the lips as was his habit. Although now it doesn't seem important or especially revolutionary, back in the day it caused a stir. Hats off to RD! It is simple acts like that on TV that unite people, and conversely simple acts caught on TV that divide as we have seen lately. The 70s and early 80s had some low points, fashion being one (IMO), but I am forever grateful for growing up in this time frame.
There were several Kissing Hosts & Kissing Bandits. Richard gets more flack now then then . . . . Richard Dawson a True Gem and Honorable Gentleman. It was Show Biz and he was "wanted" for the part. I mean to say the producers directed him to kiss from the first few months of Family Feud, and the public even far more so! By the way, Family Feud was not the first game show Dickie hosted on his own. He started with Lucky Pair a few years earlier, but apparently Lucky Pair was only televised in California.
I think it was a running joke mainly to stop the contestants from mentioning 100 relatives. I know contestants couldn't mention where they worked, college kids could mention which school they were attending. Some crazy "rules" back then.
After a while a lot of the women new Richard liked to kiss on the lips an picked Brett or someone other than Dawson just so they didn't have to kiss him.
I Google'd 'sheep dip' and it is precisely what Gene said it is: 'a liquid preparation for cleansing sheep of parasites'. I have never heard of 'cow dip' or 'horse dip'.
Butts-Dean, tie-breaker, question A: "This may actually be a match; I couldn't decide whether to read that as an angry insect or an angry fighter plane, so I hedged my bets and said into your BEDROOM WHILE YOU SLEEP." (Ding!) Super Match, part 1: DECKS Part 2: CRACKER Dean-Potter, round 1, question B: "I was going to say live snakes, but then I thought, no, those come in pits - so I thought, well, barrels… rain… fresh water… PIRANHAS…" (Bzzt!) Question A: "Can I just say, Fannie, that I love what you've done with your HAIR since the accident?" (Bzzt!) Round 2, question A: "Well, those are the ones who went out to fish for the herring-fish that live in the beautiful sea, right? So I said they got in trouble for NETTING her." (Bzzt!)
