VD. LOL...I would say VHS video tape but they just came out about a year ago in the states"1977" before this episode was aired. Also I think Sony at the time would not like VHS mentioned since later it killed their Betamax format years later...... Oh I love Judy Landers and her sister.I'm glad that she got on the show......
H/H match update for episode 1338: ... ~~~Today's action: Our champion wins her second game. *Today's audience match question: "V________"* (My thoughts: -8, Day, D) The celebs: Brett (D), Charles (for Victory), Betty (8 juice) The choice: "Joann wants VD," is how Gene puts it. The answers: D, 8, For Victory Well, $100 is better than a kick in the teeth (or a case of VD). - It just occurred to me that we don't really say "VD" anymore. Now it's STD. Wheel time. Today's special star is... Judy! And it's a double! Stats: This is Judy's first H/H question. I've been a bit surprised by how many matches she's achieved in the regular game, often with answers I wouldn't have said. Today's example was the green hair, but there were similar answers the prior two days as well. Let's see if she and the champion are on the same wavelength for this question... *Today's H/H question: "_______of Hearts"* (My first thought was that this is a gimme, am I right? Queen of Hearts? Like in the nursery rhyme or "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" or simply the playing card. What else could there be? Too bad it's only $2,000.) Our champion offers a confident little nod. Judy does her Chrissy Snow impression, pondering for a brief moment before beginning to write. She files her card. I didn't see any other panelist involved in any way whatsoever. The champ immediately says "Eviction Notice" as if it's the most obvious answer in the world (and it is)! The camera catches Judy smiling and jumping for joy. (No poker face there.) The audience offers a solid 10 reaction. It's got to be... Gene tries to argue for an alternate answer ("King" or "Ace") but no one seems to be buying it. Turn to Judy who is eager to reveal the winning answer! Judy Landers becomes the 55th MG celebrity to score a head-to-head match today! ~~~Here's our standing leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: (An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she or he has "retired" from the show and their H/H stats are now complete.) (For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.) Orson Bean - 100% (4 matches in 4 attempts). (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 matches in 4 attempts). Joyce Bulifant - 66.7% (4 matches in 6 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 62.5% (5 matches in 8 attempts). Charles - 50.6% (41 matches in 81 attempts). Betty - 46.9% (23 matches in 49 attempts). Fannie - 46.2% (18 matches in 39 attempts). Brett - 44.4% (40 matches in 90 attempts). (*)Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 matches in 18 attempts). (*)Richard - 42.5% (373 matches in 878 attempts). Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 matches in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 1338, excluding the missing/damaged/unavailable episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, 645, 910, 1024, 1025, 1026, 1027, 1028, 1029, and 1030. (Note: episode 849 was never produced.) These stats do, however, include the H/H results of missing episode 968 as those results were revealed in episode 969. There was no H/H in missing episode 1035, as we learn in 1036. These stats do, however, include results of episodes 1309 through 1317, found on channels other than this one.
Why would write that knowing that Cousin was going to reply. You KNOW he's so jealous of Brett that he's gotta have something to say on every comment that's ever made about her. He thinks the more comments he makes, people are going to hate her more. He doesn't BELIEVE in reading the comments, otherwise he'd know that was't true (I guess you don't read the comments either)
If this was 30yrs later I think v for vendetta would be number one. I guess gene isn't an Alice in wonderland fan, all I could think of WAS Queen of hearts, Judy shoulda stuck with her first choice of Mr clean
LOL, I've been listening to every episode in order while I do work around the house and yard, then I go back and read the comments. Glad you pointed that out, or I would have missed it!
