Brianne Leary was probably the only one to appear on MG as a contestant and a celebrity-oh, Bill Daily did get married, he appeared on a later show as "just married"
Actually. CBS had cancelled the series before this show aired. This week of shows and the following week of shows were already taped and scheduled to air but never did.
The un-airing was probably because of a presidential press conference or some sort of breaking news, as boob jokes usually weren't grounds for un-airing.
More than likely there is some other explanation. Money wouldn't be a money for Goodson-Toddman Productions. I've read on other threads about contestants not giving consent for the episode to be aired. Just a guess but I wonder if money was the issue.
By this point, CBS cancelled the show because of falling ratings. Also, because of the time slot that the show aired on (4:00 PM Eastern/ 3:00 PM Central), most CBS affiliates opted to air local and/or syndicated programs, which likely drew much higher ratings, and thus more money for the TV stations. 😊
@@robertlehman1337 I read that CBS 2(WCBS) NYC aired the 1979-81 episodes and My 9(WWOR-TV)aired the 1981-82 episodes. Was Match Game PM primarily a Saturday night program?
george master in 1981-82 did WCBS station stop carrying Match Game and carried the Jokers Wild and Tic Tac Do because between 1981-84 many CBS owner stations carried Jokers Wild and Tic Tac Do many match game pm was shown on ABC stations mainly that how family feud got started
Match Game was abruptly cancelled for "Whew!"; the week with Bill Cullen, in Dawson's old seat, was the last week to air. I believe 3 weeks of episodes never aired until 2001.
Let's see...offensive answers based on ethnicity and religion, and three players who managed to get exactly one match out of a possible 18. Not to mention a bonus round that paid off exactly $100 out of a possible $10,000. Gee, I can't imagine why this show never aired ;-)
