You are right on the money there! Gene Rayburn and his group of Panelists (or Weirdos as you are calling it LOL) they were the REAL Match Game people! And where I watch all sorts of Classic Game Shows here on You Tube, I will sometimes watch this good old Classic Match Game! I of course try to watch one with no speed ups during the opening, and the Full Credit Roll at the end!
Gene Rayburn was laugh out loud funny. His double- entendres were sexually inappropriate, and politically incorrect which made them hysterically funny. LOL. Thanks for sharing.
I’m 33 and I always watched match game and family feud with my dad as a kid and I just love how anything can happen makes me miss my dad a bit I still watch match game to this day I’m glad buzzr has live stream online
I’m 31 and used to watch Family Feud and Match Game with my dad back on Game Show Network when it was a real network. Watching MG was amazing because you never knew what Gene or the gang was gonna do. Definitely was great from 1973-77.
My friend and i often attended tapings of Match Game. He was always hilarious with the audience during commercial. I asked if i could come up and kiss Brett. He did...
You got that right! (SNORE). We need game show hosts like Richard Dawson, Burt Convey, Gene Rayburn, Dennis James, etc. Those guys were pros and they had the right kind of energy.
It was just a reply to the remark that Ms Texas made about "TPIR" not being the same anymore. As far as "Match Game" was concerned, Gene Rayburn and his group of 'weirdos' were the ultimate, and their chemistry can NEVER be duplicated!
When they did "Hollywood Squares" in this studio they had three cameras on the platform behind the audience. The three cameras were all focused on the stars in the big tic tac toe board.
Yeah, it's worth the cost - no speed ups, departing contestant tag gift tags (at the end, and in the middle), plus the infamous ticket plugs that Marc Breslow did so well! You might try on Amazon or eBay - sometimes they have good prices on it.
@KJaneway1 Since 1994, Barker was sued by model Dian Parkinson, & then filed suit against model Holly Hallstrom, in which Holly won, & then Holly sued Barker for defamation, in which she won a huge settlement. Due to Holly's case, models Janice Pennington & Kathleen Bradley were fired (& later won settlements) for testifying, as did production assistants Sherrill Paris, Sharon Friem, & director Paul Alter. Linda Riegert sued, but lost her case, & Deborah Curling's case w Barker is on appeal,
What led to Holly's firing from The Price is Right, Barker wanted Holly to support him with legal lawsuit against him. Holly said just didn't wanna get it into this mess and keep it neutral. For Bob Barker that's considered as an insult and told her that she was gone
@KJaneway1 It's a big story, but one that played a big part in the show's demise after 2000! I know three of them, and they told me pretty much what I wrote here about it. Like they always said, Barker was a great host, but a bad human being!
