This episode was taped on 24 October 1981. I don't know what's in this drink, but if you ask me, this highball tastes more like a FOOTBALL. (Bzzt!) Have you seen the new game show about cooking? It's called The SPICE Is Right. (Bzzt!) They're making a horror movie about my wife's housekeeping. It's called It Came from Beneath the RUG. (1 match out of 3, plus contestant) That new doctor must have been a mechanic. He just used a dipstick instead of a THERMOMETER. (5 matches, plus contestant) SO what? ($500 match) Make your own BED (DING, DING, DING, DING, DING, DING, DING, DING, DING!)
Poor Fannie Flagg's particularly serious form of dyslexia was really on display in this episode. An expert watched and contacted her, changing her life.
I've always been curious about an odd occurrence of dialing phone numbers; I have the correct number in my mind no doubt, but, - and this frightens me, - reaching the keypad-with the correct # in my head, - it isn't communicated to my hand. My mind and hand do two different things, - my mind thinks of a number to dial, - but then by the time that 'message' reaches my hand and I'm dialing - I'm dialing a completely different number ! This has near gotten me into trouble. I'm afraid I'm losing it or something. Is that familiar at all to you ? Thanks.
@@gregedgerton3390 The first sign that you are NOT losing it is if you worry "I'm losing it'. What you describe IS a kind of dyslexia and there are easy solutions. Use a different part of your mind - make a pattern of lines the hand follows to create the sequence of numbers and forget about the numbers.
@@gregedgerton3390I agree, that may be a presentation of Dyscalculia with being unable to mentally organize numbers when using fine motor skills to dial them out. Myself, I know how to perform math operations, but mentally can’t keep the numbers to add, subtract or multiply organized to make the complex calculations in my head beyond certain complexity (they just keep slipping out of order). If calculators didn’t exist I’d have to have a paper and pencil to write them out. I even find counting simple arithmetic on my hands (using a different area of the brain as someone affirmed above) to be very helpful to keep them organized and grounded for quick calculations. I may also deal with the spelling complex words getting mentally jumbled when typing them out, but that could be a symptom of decades of spell check use.
I was thinking moth ball and The Chef was Right. I confess, for the latter, I totally saw Gordon Ramsey hollaring at imbeciles. lol That question predicted the future. Cooking games shows are so common now. Or maybe producers caught in and said hey! I think they're on to something there.

No one has a sense of humor anymore and joy is outlawed. I thought the guy took it with good grace. Of course, you can make jokes about how pale we are. Snow ball would totally fly. Who's got the privilege again?
@@BlazeDuskdreamer People have become way too soft in this politically correct era. I'm glad something like RU-vid exists to go back in time and watch. I've laughed harder watching all these Match Game shows (1973-syndicated run) than any supposedly called comedy of today.
113 we hit making it a rare case where the 2nd show gets a higher number than the 1st show this makes it our 21st night of double 100s 127 overall I think I'll check later but anyways hopefully we end the week with a bang for a huge number see what happens tomorrow night see you then good night my friends!
All Lives Matter and, unlike the contestant, you're being overly sensitve. I can't help but think that if a wh*te contestant said snow or moth and got the same joke, you wouldn't blink an eye. Bl*ck privilege. BurnLootMurder is a terroris organization, for the record. No different than the kay kay kay.
My guess is not all Black Lives Matter. When was the last time the BLM anarchists picketed in Chicago after 300 blacks get shot at or murdered by other colored folk?
Yeah, it was rude - even back in 1982. He was trying to be funny on his feet but missed the mark and would probably have taken it back if he could. On the other hand, BLM is a racist, marxist organization that survives only by breeding hatred and distrust among the races. Which is worse?
@@mary-annemueller9885 Exactly! BLM has nothing to do with the mud ball comment. I guess the way McLean said "say what?"@14:56 is also racist in your world. Notice how the black contestant applauded and laughed?!? That's how it was back then and wish that's how it could be but people are just too soft nowadays.
