I looked into this amp on the channel for Helix a little while back, and found some cool stuff in the manual as well as pairing it with dual Matchless mismatching speakers like in the real world. Of course, I needed to take a look for Pod Go, where dual cabs are not possible. In this case I thought using Celestion Blues might be the shortcut to Vox territory....
The Matchless DC30 is one of those amps that is favoured by session players and touring musicians - I remember seeing a few of them around when I was young. They have an incredibly hefty pricetag though...Anyway, I haven't used these models much, so I decided to have dive into the manual from Matchless to get a better understanding of the amp, and how they talk about dialling it in. In particular, the manual shed some light on the ideal cabs to use in the Helix, so that was handy!
Channel 1 is based on a Vox AC30 Top Boost, and Channel 2 is something a bit different, but look at these amps for Vox tones, Morgan AC20 tones, that sort of chimey thing!
