I bought a Matchmaster to replace my venerable Chargemaster 1500. I was a piece of junk! It was a PITA to use, Change powders etc. It only worked for a couple months before it quit working. Fortunately Scheels let me return it. I ordered a AutoTrickler V4 and it’s simply in another league altogether. Don’t buy a Matchmaster! The less expensive RCBS models are very good if you want the very best try an AutoTrickler or other that uses the FX scales
If you want the very best, you have to buy a Prometheus. If you want the second best, but with the best price-performance ratio you should buy a FX/FZ balance based dispenser.
AD120i is ten times the scale the match master is. Match master should be $600 bc at $899 it’s over priced imo compared to what $1100 V4 will run you. JMHO Cool video
That is what I gathered after doing the research. I am just getting into reloading and don't have a digital scale yet. I have been researching the last few days, and the scale was what made me pull the trigger on the V4 today.
I know guys who regularly stand at the podium who use a Matchmaster. So, in all fairness, I don't think your assessment is correct. I own both, but the Matchmaster is no slouch when put beside an A&D.
@@VaMike9the match master should be a $500 machine. It’s way over priced compared to an autotrickle v4 v3 supertickler. I know guys that use a Frankfords that get to podiums and those are $200
@lukeclement1310 I wish you were right, but there's no way my FA can keep you with my Matchmaster. All of the champion level shooters I know use champion level equipment, and that's just the way it is. I'm not rich by any means, but you've got to pay to play, and I understand the sacrifice.
@@VaMike9 the Matchmaster is not a bad unit it’s just overpriced for what it is you might as well spend a few hundred dollars more and get it auto trickle v4. I know people that are running 3 to 4, Frankfurt Arsenal’s winning matches getting on the podium at two national events. I agree with you. The Frankford is not as good as the match, but the price point is. I am a huge RCBS fan I love their dies for my GT but they overpriced this machine imo
If you’re going to buy a match master, you might as well save a little more money for a AutoTrickler or Supertrickler. Both of those use the same scale which uses magnetic force restoration vs a strain gauge that the RCBS uses.
Sure if you have the loot. I totally agree. This was more geared toward someone wanting the most bang for their buck. If you happen to be able to get a mil discount or catch a Matchmaster on sale it’s about half the price of the other systems.
Just got my match master in. Did testing, comparison, setup. I am getting good accurate reading. was wondering on the settings you customized. You are getting a good bit more speed than i am. Im running H1000. Thanks.
I have both as well and I find myself using the RCBS for pistol loads for my revolvers. And the Auto Trickler for my rifle loads just for a heads up. Never put H110 in your Auto Trickler you will be cleaning it for at least a half hour. I also wish someone would really take the time to learn it. Then sit down and make a detailed video explaining it. You really can’t find much information about it.
Almost bought the matchmaster a while back but that flashing green background light is just obnoxious so i waited and now have thje V4 and im glad , the V4 / AND combo is far superior
What is on your plaque on the A&D fx 120i .. iv never seen that befor and it looks like an easy way to keep powder off of it. Can you please share a link of where you got it
The contact information for the creator is here: taylorleaddeliverysystems@gmail.com He sells the kit for a very reasonable price and it is top notch. He is also on snipers hide as username: obsessed.
@@monsaltusgroup296 Thank you, I found these settings in another comment, and gave them a try with Varget. It produced accurate 24.6 grain throws in around 35 seconds, too long. My initial reaction was the large tube stopped too soon. Here are the settings I was using typed to the right of the comment numbers after the --- dash, producing accurate throws in
How about you try this test . We all know the A&D fx120i can weigh one kernel of powder at a time , try to see if the match master can weight one kernel . If it can’t keep adding one kernel at a time to the match master and let us know how many kernels it took before it displays a weight . Thanks .
Hey brother, thanks for the question. I’m sorry, but I don’t have time right now to make a video of this, but I did as you asked. With 4831sc it does pick up each kernel. Sometimes the weight will jump by an extra .02, but this is in line with the fidelity promised by the scale. The A&D is obviously superior, but rcbs does a pretty good job. As I’ve said before, for retail prices I would go A&D, but the Matchmaster is often on sale and rcbs has a great mil/Leo program. I have a super trickler enroute as well…
Yeah man. I would be happy with either, especially if funds were a major factor. I’ve also tested the loads, both for groups and velocity numbers, and they are statistically the same with the amount I tested (5, 5 shot groups of each in two different cartridges). I also have a super trickler in the queue so we’ll see how they stack.
reduce large tube stop point to reduce time greatly, currently its stopping way early and the small tube has to do all the work for it :). short trickle response time is extremely high and can be cut in half. throwing over .02gr is irrelevant.
Thanks! Yep, you’re absolutely right. However, I think nearly everyone knows the A&D is a far superior scale so this just shows that the Matchmaster is measuring the same (or nearly) as the A&D. If I had a Sartorious or other superior balance I would compare them in that manner.
All the rcbs, hornady and frankford arsenal autotricklers are non serviceable and you can throw them away if there is something wrong with them. They are all very very cheaply made, which the cheapest of scales and cheapest minimal electronics. They work when they work , and that might be enough for many people but the autotrickler is more of a long term investment . I’m going to build my own trickler soon, since my hornady is having more and more issues ( sometimes doesn’t turn on, can’t be calibrated anymore etc)
So I wasn’t really going to dive into this part of the discussion, but it is really valid. The Autotrickler V4 is $1090. The Matchmaster is $899. At those prices, for me, it’s a no brainer to get the Autotrickler. However, you can often find the Matchmaster at a significant discount on sale and RCBS gives phenomenal military and other pro deal pricing (that I can’t disclose the amount but it’s good. Trust me). Autotrickler is never on sale and doesn’t do a discount. That being said, if you can grab a Matchmaster at any of the discount pricing it becomes a much more difficult question, but that is for others to decide.
Yep, for sure. And 2 years for both the Autotrickler and Supertrickler. They’re all based on a heavy reliance on electronics. You’re never going to get a “forever” warranty on things like this.
Is the Lee running to .1 grain or .01 grain? This video is showing the matchmaster in match mode (measuring to .01 grains) which is much slower than when its in fast .1 grains mode.
@fnkdtnk iam not sure you can look it up it's the gen6 model I don't shoot BR or F-class so I don't need to be that precise not saying I would have passed up a more better scale but I was In the middle of loading and my old one broke and I went to several places and that was the only one they have
