I have this board in a T1 vTol. 18 months in, it's hovering but not FW flight as of yet. I am used to Ardu and Matek too, so . . . . . . . it's got a good loud beeper. Which I used to locate the plane after the first FW test. It was a VERY long walk, don't point the plane at the ocean is all I'm saying Mr Newton :)
Great overview. With so much flexibility in configuring, it may be hard to decide what could be your next fun build to pair with this flight controller.
Will this flight controller work for standard fixed wing? I am looking at this Fc over the standard F405 fixed wing due to F405 FW having 5amps continuous and 6amps peak, while the VTOL has 8 amps continuous and 10amps peak. I think I need the higher BEC values since the Super Tucano I have ordered has 6 13g servers, 1 25g server, and retracts, and FPV with pan and tilt. Sound about right?
extra servo amps is good for tilt motors I guess. Makes sense for a quadplane but I like the single-board lightweight f405 wingV2 all on one board and feel it has enough pads for 3 motors imho. I have yet to complete and fly my Dart tilt motor vtol though, hope the v2 has enough servo amps.
Hi Andrew, I'm having vtol problem with this fc on skywalker x8 with mission planner. I cannot get it to hover. The skywalker wing flipped over every time I increased power. I would like to see how it works out for you.
Hello!I would like to see a VTOL variant with rotary motors, as an example-Hee Wing T1 Ranger VTOL-they use rotary servos to switch from vertical takeoff mode to horizontal flight mode (and as an option-not with two rotary motors, but with all four at once).
@@AndrewNewton thanks for the info Sir. I've bought a lot of Matek f411 previously but it's kinda sad that future Inav 8 will not support it anymore. I hope Inav 7 will have complete VTOL support before they move to version 8.
i've same FC and i am working on Vtol (4+1) with inav 7.1, i can share with you my experience with pleasure. I finished the first part of the Quad with all settings waitting for the finishine of the plane construction..;-)
Andrew. Get hold of a Bixler and strap 4 motors onto it via a couple of carbon tubes mounted on the wings. The standard Bixler motor remains as the plane motor. You do it first and I’ll follow you
i stopped buying matek when they stopped supporting and started cheating the elrs team. Matek is no longer elrs supported product but Matek tells their buyers they should use another elrs target instead to get any updates. Imagine this second vendor will stop supporting then the whole mess starts again. I have bought speedy bee fc instead and sold my old matek flight controllers I hate to see this kind of cheating.
so they cheated by using ELRS engineering on their own ELRS receivers? I don't get how you'd say a Matek FC won't be supported nor updatable with iNav or Betaflight (or Ardu), and just plug your 3rd party ELRS receiver into any uart? I am genuinely unaware of this situation, have used Matek for 7 years with great results, but I am still using Crossfire. I have a new ELRS radio and considering the switch but would be using 3rd party ELRS receivers not Matek. I have a SpeedybeeFC in the box but it is a heavy inefficient looking thing in comparison.
