Say hello to GPT-4o, our new flagship model which can reason across audio, vision, and text in real time. Featuring Sal and Imran Khan from @khanacademy Learn more here: www.openai.com...
@@zalox12 dear 2 neurons guy, he is worrying for job because the world as we know now is based on job. We would need a totally global different world organization when (now) AI (will) come(s).
They will think they are proficient in the subject since Chat GPT solves all their homework problems. Tears will be falling DURING the exam, when they have to solve it themselves.
maybe with the help of A.I we can be richer and better than those Teachers who complain about everything including their life and their students and their homeworks
A key advantage of this feature is the freedom to ask questions without hesitation. In traditional classrooms, we often hold back questions, fearing judgment or appearing foolish due to elementary inquiries.
I just want to thank Sal Khan from the bottom of my heart for his academy. I keep fond memories of all the math and geometry lessons I watched there years ago, that helped me relearn what I had long forgotten, so I could be able to help out my daughter with her homework, and all for free. In a world of greed and ignorance, this man is a precious gift.
This is wild! This means every kid can have a personal tutor who is infinitely patient and guides them in exactly the way they need at any time day or night. That is such a game-changer and finally gives everyone access to the highest quality education regardless of social status! 🤯
@@meow_meow_J Which slightly concerns me, because they're claiming to have trained this model end to end with text, audio, and image, rather than incorporating them as tools like with typical multimodal systems. So the exact nuances in it's tone or voice would be made by the LLM directly, and not interpreted by a separate AI that it communicates with. I'm highly skeptical of this though, because the GPT architecture is hot dogwater at trying to learn audio and imagery in the neural network itself. I'm not sure it's ever even been done standalone, let alone all in one package. I reckon there's a decent chance that the end to end claim is a mistake made by marketing.
it's actually great.. i remember as a kid when i had problems with math my teacher would get mad instead of helping me out.. this would be very helpful. amazing.
While I would agree, many kids have never even touched AI, and even if they did, they may prefer a human tutor. I compare it to how people prefer to read a book either on paper or on a computer screen.
@@EvelynVioletEverlight it won't do any beating anytime soon though, humans only do that because we have emotions due to having a consciousness. While AI, its emotions are just a replica.
This sort of technology is ideally suited to STEM subjects which is inherently logical. It'll be interesting to see how social sciences leverage AI for education. Your role will probably evolve into something very different.
It's amazing that while others are afraid of being left behind, Khan is always pushing forward with the latest technology to make learning better and more accessible for everyone. Amazing job, Imran, Sal and GPT-4o 😃
@@rasimbot Creator of "Khan Academy" - a free online education resource. You can learn math there and other stuff. And he is working with OpenAI to make an AI tutor for the site. And they did it for the most part, as far, as I'm aware. He is a really great person.
Absolutely brilliant🙏👏 I am a 58 year male and I am going to teach myself math all over again as I flunked out at school. Very embarrassing and disheartening, now I can just be me in my own time.🙏
The "one size fits all" model of education is over. No more leaving intelligent and capable kids behind because they didn't fit into a flawed and inefficient system. We are leaving these failing institutions behind and good riddance.
@@MrChughad I tried asking GPT-4o about some topics in harmonic analysis (Strichartz estimates), and unfortunately it gave incorrect answers. So, that AI is useless for my research on nonlinear wave partial differential equations.
I’m going to use this to help teach my child. What a great resource. I don’t think this is going to replace teacher. It will just be another tool for them to use so your child can have the education they deserve. Currently our school system is broken and this could actually fix it.
It's scary to think of it. AI is slowly but surely taking away the very creativity we humans have. They make us dependent on them. We lack ideas and would rather ask AI for the ideas and solutions.
@@ansma1877 We are also dependent on the electricity, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't use it. Electricity helps with everything, and without it so many humans would die right now and the world would have gone to shit. So yes, we are dependent on every invention that has been implemented in daily life. But is that really a bad thing? Let's not kid ourselves, AI will probably be better than humans in every way and it will happen sooner than we expect. Humans just have to be happy with the fact that they can become easily replaced and just live their lives.
@@ansma1877 Well but you dont nececarilly have to use ai to come up with ideas for you, for example i would love to use this kind of ai to help me learn some coding languages but not come up with stories for my projects.
@@ciekawki6574 you can look at it that way, which is a beta loser mentality, or you can look at it as a way to advance quickly, learn quickly, and make an impact quickly.
@@jhunt5578 that's because modern societies are structured around schools. Do you think just 50 years ago, people went to schools ? Now school is one of few places where children of same age can meet and form connections. If education is useless for jobs, then schools will die out sooner than you think.
@@iLoveAppl3947 yup! they hired a bunch of indians all with the voice of Scarlett Johansson to power all of the devices that will run ChatGPT! Isn't it amazing??
Millions of children in places with no access to education will appreciate this. Literally will double or triple the amount of scientists and engineers in the world. Pay no mind to the short minded people and their negativity.
@@pretentious_a_ness What a stupid thing to say. With that idiotic mentality, you might as well say that if someone is better at you at something, you're worthless. Also, intelligence is intelligence, it doesn't matter if it comes from machine or biology. One isn't superior or inferior, it's just different.
Is this real, because if it is - this is phenomenal !! - this will completely change teaching and learning forever and giving access to education (hopefully in more local languages) to kids and students who currently couldn't afford one. Awesome!!
This is paradigm shifting: We all know that socio-economic status plays a large role in quality of education. Often, students from poorer families receive less opportunities to succeed when compared to the more well-off community. This allows students from less advantageous backgrounds to get an on-the-go tutor that can understand their flaws and provide meaningful guidance in subjects they struggle with for incredibly cheap (relatively speaking). This elevates such children in a significant manner that will help them bridge one of the gaps in their educational potential. Un-freakin-real!
@@unoqualunque5484of course, but it will be way more accessible regardless. Tutoring is expensive no matter what, but especially the high end tutors that rich kids get. This AI, with more time and development, will probably be as good as a high end tutor, but at a fraction of the cost. Not to mention that it could just be shared, or a local school, library, or charity would be able to pay for these things.
Academics isn't really the determining factor. Intact family structure and thus full emotional development and less trauma means more than understanding mathematics that the AI can now do better than 99% of people.
@@kevinjin3835 AI isn't intelligent, it is incapable of thinking, it is nothing more than a tool that takes the first 100 google results for your question and summarizes them
Great work of all participants. Great work of openAI. This has got a power to change the world entirely, how we have known it to these days. Fantastic work and results!!👍👌👏
I also have to say that to be the tutor for others has an huge impact of understanding a topic. So after understanding the topic through ai, he could deepen his understanding by explaining to others.
I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing. It might cause a whole generational change because education is one of the basic fundamentals of human life so I can expect ai will have a record breaking impact on the field. Now the question is what will happen after the change. Will education and knowledge be free ? Or will this corrupt will find a way to capitalise and monopolies the ai technology
@@Uncleclara No it's not. Education have different level. The basic education system is everywhere but when it comes to advance education then it costly and I mean really costly. So no it's not in your palm but instead you are in the palm of the owners hand.
@@Alex_Yt2.. Tell me what’s advanced in this current educational system? You think a 4 year marketing degree will do sh*t in the real world😂😂 C’mon man be real with yourself. Most of the courses studied in the universities are outdated and deep down you know this but you all will happily get yourself into student loan debts and expect it to pay off in the end😂 The DELUSION.
This super exciting finally seeing better changes in education, this tool is super helpful for introverted, and shy students like me who is scared to ask questions in class because of many reasons
Years ago, Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, had given a talk at a local University and during that talk he had predicted that education as a whole would eventually change from the tradition methods. Well folks, I believe this is what he predicted.
Books will revolutionize schools Handheld calculators will revolutionize schools The Internet will revolutionize schools Chromebooks will revolutionize schools iPads will revolutionize schools Guess what single thing actually revolutionized schools?
As a parent this is a legit game changer. The US educational system is terrible and after the pandemic there is a severe shortage of teachers. Parents tried to compensate by hiring tutors but the rates are crazy. In my area decent tutors are over $100/hr if you can even find one. I try to help when I can but as a working parent time is scare. If AI can really help with something like this it's an incredible contribution to society.
Hey I’m working on a tutoring app and was wondering if you would be willing to give me feedback on it. Since we are trying to solve the problem you stated. In exchange I’m offering 1-2 free tutoring sessions for kids for 30min - 1 hour of your time!
@@ezequielghienaramos4777I have gpt-4o as well, but I can’t do anything like this or even in the other vids. The UI is the exact same, it’s just faster and seems more human. Other than that I don’t see much of a difference from gpt-4. Like I can’t just interrupt it while it’s talking, no live video, etc. Is it the same for you? Am I missing something here? Don’t get me wrong, it’s still an incredible leap from 4, just not what I’m seeing here.
this is so nice its very hard to find teaher in india and maths is so hard to teach my son always ask question and i dont have answer to it this will help so much thank u for this
@@lucaitaly1975 for my A levels, I used it to help me study, like explaining how to get to an answer or ask it very specific questions. Makes a 1-to-1 coach at your fingertips 24/7
@@lucaitaly1975 being taught by a machine is way better than being taught by a human, the kid can ask freely without feeling embarrased of not understanding it properly.
My college math class will be the judge of this. I’ve found that it’s been fundamentally terrible at math so I’ll check back into this comment in the fall to see if anything has changed
How is ot done? They use a tablet with splitscreen. On one site there is the ChatGpt App, on the the other an paint app. How can you active Chatgpt to see the picture? Or was the picture uploaded before? Thx Markus
This is actually a historical turn we are witnessing right now. I can already imagine this evolving into something as large and intelligent as the fictional "JARVIS" and "FRIDAY". This combined with the ability to interact with the physical world and make real world decisions with all the information of world, its history, it's past every scientific knowledge and research in its head accessible in a second, its gonna be an engineering Marvel
The problem isn't that people are going to lose their jobs. The problem is kids are going to think AI can't be wrong, or have limited information at the moment its being used.
ok ok it helped the dude solve a problem in trigonometry (or whatever it is) but like a month ago I asked gpt 3.5 a rly basic calculation just to cross check my work and it gave me the dumbest answers even after five responses. and I had to correct that thing in the end. frankly gemini in loads better.
The most terrifying moment was at the end, at 3 minutes. When the voice praised him, she said great job etc, and they immediately felt happy and acknowledged. They showed by instinct real, human emotional responses to a programmed "un-real" thing. I am not sure we understand this aspect well enough. Robots can or will make use feel in a certain way, even when we know what's going on. It can really help lonely people - and yet, making them lonelier then before.
yeah no, video games ending and getting a high score can make you feel happy and acknowledged too, it’s just a response to any positive feedback, AI or game or human.
Я хочу верить, что это всё уже скоро станет доступно всем, и наши дети будут слушать истории ветеранов, которые сами всему учились, без чьей-то помощи ❤
