Amazing bow. I never thought my Wake would leave me, but I think this will take its place.

I expect the bow to sell well, but for me personally I'm not interested. I have a Halon 6 which I love and have no need to get rid of. The 32 is almost 5 pounds bare. If Mathews had found a way to keep the bow at the same weight of the 30" ATA Halon, I would be more inclined to give it a try but it looks like they couldn't pull that off. I was very underwhelmed with this year's releases. I'm glad they finally made a dedicated youth bow though. That's been a long time coming. I'm stoked about the new camo options, and should they release something a bit more new and innovative in 2018, I may buy something just for the new camo. As it is, I am 99% a tree stand hunter, and I love the 30" ATA Halon for that reason. I have no issues with how it shoots. It's a phenomenal bow, and Mathews really hit it out of the park. There's really not a whole lot of room for innovation with the Halon platform which is why you saw the only change is the 2 inch longer length. It's hard to make a perfect bow more perfect. I'd love to see them release a hybrid "solo-cam" bow utilizing the no-cam wheel for the top cam, and the Halon's crosscentric cam to drive the bow. That'd be a pretty neat system. Or I just want to see a new Halon that's about 4 pounds.

Not knowing anything about either bow, been out of the game for a long time, my dealer handed me the halon 6 and halon 32-6 to shoot back to back. I didn't know that they were different sizes and weights, he didn't tell me anything about them until I was done shooting them, and honestly I didn't notice the difference. I did, however notice how much better I shot the 32. It was just much easier to hit where I was aiming with it. After shooting them both, along with quite a few other bows, I ordered a 32 for myself.

I shot it on 70/30 and was getting 315-318 fps with my hunting arrows. Just about the same weight

i cant agree with the comment made below claiming that their will be many 30 inch halons for sale, as I had invested in one earlier this year. Also can't imagine people spending another grand just to get two more inches of riser and heavier bow. I believed that Mathews would keep the Halon running another year due to the magnificent engineering that went into this bow design. although I do fancy the new camo offerings I also think it foolish to trade or sell my current Halon for a color change and the only other differences that were mentioned prior. when I did purchase my 2016 Halon I also believed I had a bow that wouldn't be outdated for at least a few years to come. now for those that didn't make that investment yet I encourage all to shoot a Halon, for me it had the most shoot ability out of all the bows I tested earlier this year and I shot the flagship and many others from most all the big manufacturers and the Halon was it. on a side note, the youth bow is as close to being a smaller Halon but again for such a high cost investment I'd expect Mathews to have given this bow an adjustable cam and draw system. youth outgrow their bows quickly. I'd love to buy this bow for my son but I'm not a wealthy individual who should have to spend a thousand bucks and then more money every year buying cams and or limbs to keep his draw weight and length. lastly, I also believe for most if you're trading out of a flagship bow after only year you're selling yourself short by not getting to your full potential getting familiar with it. I shoot about 4 times a week or more and I'm still getting better with it in some way.

Robert Pagel I currently have the halon 6 and I'm trading it in for the 32. Main reason I'm 6'1" and 29DL. With the 30 I find to get my nose on the string I have to tilt my head down to accomplish this. And in a tree stand it's worse. Love the halon but I'm hoping the 32 fits me better and gives me a much better string angle.
