He’s just looking for views for his sub-par channel, so he makes a click-bait title. Yeah you can spend a bunch on overpriced Mathews accessories, or you don’t have to. Just like every other brand. Do better. Make more of an effort to make good content.
My son Chris Hammond and Levi Morgan made the open pro shootdown this weekend In Illinois. They do usually remove the grip tho and run the Mathews side plate with either grip tape or a strip of the non slip tape. Also they run their own stabilizers. Chris tells me it’s an absolute amazing bow tho. Haxen talks very positive about the bow itself. He’s just negatively talking about the cost of the stabilizer system and other accessories. Which I tend to agree with. I enjoy all his videos tho.
Y’all act like your not constantly wasting money on new archery gear mathews is so expensive blah blah blah and you own 7 different 400 dollar releases and 4 different sights. Hilarious. at-least they are trying to create something new that actually works amazing. The price reflects quality materials and labour
@@HaxenHunt Maybe you could change your title to “ What I’m not going to tell you” how bout Mathew’s uses the same material to build their strings as 90% of the others ( factory or custom) 99% of sting failures are shooter error. Your trying to repeat a talking point you’ve heard that is not true just to get clicks If you think the retail price is so out of line, compared to Hoyts, flag ship bow Then you’ll say but it’s carbon it’s lighter. You can pay 400 more for it. Then keep adding weight to so it will hold on target The stabilizer system it’s expensive and maybe not for everybody but any other stabilizer system you want to put on it will still bolt on nothings been changed with the bushings I can keep going
I mean you’re open to have your own opinion on the phase 4, clearly you like it. And there’s no problem with it. There’s things I don’t like and a lot of other people share the same opinion, but that doesn’t mean you have to either🤷🏼♂️ just like I don’t have to have your same opinion on the bow itself. Archery is pretty dope in that aspect, the bows and companies are truly different and can hold a whole different list for each persons pros and cons that they like and dislike about each bow. We all know zebra strings struggle, but so do Hoyt’s factory strings… and many others. We all know carbon is very expensive, some people it’s not an issue and others it’s the entire deciding factor. We all know theres a million different stabilizers out there for people to choose. I personally shoot Quattro cause I like them more than a lot of others. I like Toyota trucks just as much as a lot of other people like their chevy and fords. It’s all personal preference and I feel that I shared the importance of shooting them for yourself and not going strictly off of my opinion. If you have a mathews and it didn’t feel good watching a video of someone explain all the bad parts of that bow I’m sorry you didn’t like it. Overall it’s a killer bow just like every other flagship bow made in 2023. Non of them truly “suck” they all have their pros and their cons and I’ll shoot them all, I have 0 ties to any bow company so truly my reviews are non biased as to what “I like” that’s why I share to shoot them yourself. I’ll shoot a mathews tomorrow if they changed their grip, or if I bought an ultra view grip, I’ll shoot a PSE today if I liked it. I shoot a Hoyt rx7 ultra right now because a year ago I really liked it. Would I trade it in for a different bow now? Yeah probably lol because each bow has their flaws and as a person that wants to review them I have to find every bad and good thing about the bows to share with every audience that doesn’t have the pleasure of shooting any bow any time. That being said; thank you for your comment and your passion in the archery world! I’m stoked you’ve found what works for you and that your comfortable shooting it! Keep killin it my man! And hope you have a killer fall season with your bow!👊🏽👊🏽
Everyone likes what they like…and when the price is high many justify the price by hating on the competitor’s brands. I shot a Mathews Q2 for 15 years. I waited for Mathews to get off of the 30”/28” flagship yearly flip-flop for a long time! I’d sit up at night waiting for the second that the new bow was released. Guess I was a “fanboy.” I gave up and bought an Elite Energy 35. Great bow. I still shot the Mathews flagships every year, but I added the Hoyt RX1 to potential buys. A FEW years later, the RX7 ULTRA was released. It was a no brainer-to me, the best bow out last year. Accurate, quiet, dead in the hand, and a 34” ata bow. The factory strings have been okay, but I’ll be going to GAS strings next. No stabilizer at this point. It aims like crazy as is! Loving the Hoyt! Heck, I even bought some Hoyt merch so that now I can look like a true HOYT fanboy! Lol
Ive never seen such a negative review on soluch an amazing product lol. The accessories are expensive, theres no question. I don't think zebra strings are great but they are usable, you dont have to immediately replace them. You talked about sights being $400-$600, thats the very top end. You can get great sights for $200-$300, run a generic stabilizer and quiver, walk out the door for less than 2k and thats on par with the flagship bows from other manufacturers.
@@HaxenHunt I personally don't think bow are that overpriced. I bought my first mathews in 2008 it was a DXT for $950. Inflation puts that price at $1400 today. Seems about right. It's life why complain about prices. In 15 years they will be $2000.
MATHEWS PHASE 4 29 VS HOYT RX7 - BATTLE OF THE BOWS - WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE LIKE THESE? | HAXEN HUNT ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pd24Y7JhVkc.html
If you are in the market for a new bow. Do not let this guys opinion affect your purchase. He is not very knowledgeable on the equipment he is discussing. Mathews gives you the ability to take your draw weight from 60 pounds to 75 pounds. Just by a mod swap same set of limbs. Also allowing you to keep your limbs bottomed out so you get the maximum performance from your bow at any weight. Any other manufacturers bow will cost you at least 200 dollars for a set of limbs to change your draw weight. Then you have to swap the limbs. The Mathews mod system is bullet proof and preforms better than any of the competitors rotating mods that rattles loose while shooting. The speeds he has posted in this video are wrong he has the limbs backed out on a bow that makes sure you don’t have to touch your limb bolts. A bows grip is going to vary by each individual shooter. I shoot very well off the engage grip. As do countless others across this country. The zebra strings are better than the factory strings on most if not all other manufacturers bows. I hear these guys complain about them but I can’t tell you how many bows I have owned/ worked on for others. With zebra strings and never encountered an issue that was not user error. Any one can make a video and post it on RU-vid. About 80% or more of them are just repeating what they have heard from someone else and none of them have first hand experience. Find a really good archery shop learn to tune and work on your own equipment. Buy the bow you like the best and shoot it until you have reason to buy a new bow or just want one. If maintained correctly any bow out there should last a lifetime. To my knowledge Mathews is the only company that you can still get replacement parts for the first bow they ever made. All the other manufacturers have changed hands so many times over the years they can’t even tell you what there first model was. They sell you a lifetime warranty then stop making parts 5 or 6 years after they make your bow. When your bow breaks. The offer you a new bow at a slightly discounted price. Mathews will fix your bow. Which is what you are paying for when you buy a flag ship bow.
I see your perspective and you’re not wrong by sharing your perspective and opinion. Stating “he’s not knowledgeable” about Mathews or the bow itself isn’t a true statement. I love the rest of your comment and your feedback as far as what you see in the pros and cons of this bow. I appreciate the comment no doubt! But before we make any assumptions about someone else’s experiences without asking beforehand let’s just remember opinions and perspective are each their own. Again thank you for your comment and your feedback on your own perspective! That’s the great thing about the archery community is that there’s so much variety in gear that fit the variety in hunters! Thanks again man👊🏽
@@HaxenHunt should’ve chose some of my words better. But the real attributes of Mathews switch weight system were over looked in this video. As well as the issues with the way other manufacturers handle their warranty. About every other compound bow manufacturer has changed hands once or more since it’s existence. Mathews and pse were the last hold outs and pse just sold. You can’t even keep up with who you’re buying from anymore. Bowtech has sold so many times it’s a joke. When you buy something with a lifetime warranty at a premium price you should get what you pay for. With most bow companies that is not the case.
Yeah I totally understand the warranty thing for sure! I personally don’t pay much attention to anything warranty related and that’s probably just due to not having to need it yet. The switch weight system for sure has its pros and cons and I probably could have done a better job explaining the weight side of it vs just the draw length part of it. Appreciate your perspective on it! That’s why I’ve got my platform out there for people to learn and share what they’ve learned! Really appreciate your advice!
Sounds like your a mattews sales rep. Lol. That alone tells me not to trust you opinions either except one just shoot what fits the shooter no matter the brand or string. And mattews won't fix older bows I have tried told me sorry here is a 100 dollar gift certificate for a new mattews so again each person will have different experiences.
A mod system bear lets you change draw weight without mods or limbs its part of the bow cam system and the length and let off. Matthews is the posh brand name like supreme they charge and arm for the bow then a leg for the accessories and then you dog for mods.
Ive shot mayhews for 15 years. I love them. But with that beind said. Im looking at the ss34 fot my new bow this year. Phase 4 is way out of my price range when it comes tk accessories.
It’s honestly rough to see how expensive those new Accesories are haha honestly I haven’t been a huge fan of Bowtech my whole life but that SS34 shoots really clean👊🏽
Fair review, thanks for the video. I don't agree with the Mathews branded accessories being a down-side, since they are optional, though. Considering them a down-side means the bow would be better without them, which doesn't make any sense. You can still mount the regular stabilizers, rests and sights (which are as expensive on a Mathews as they are on any other bow, btw). Thanks again for the video, though. If you're not living in the US, chances are that you are not able to shoot these bows before you buy them. This means we rely on reviews like these to make the most informed purchase decision we possible can. I got the new Phase 4 very recently, and I'm not 100% sure I made the right call, which sucks. But I will never know, since I can't compare it to the other bows on the market.
Must say I sure hope you are enjoying your bow. I tried all the new bows on the market besides Hoyt when I decided my phase 4. I absolutely love it still! Still using the factory zebra strings with no issue also and that's after 1000's of arrow so I'm not sure what that's about. Keep shooting and good luck on your endeavors with it!
Not sure about this video man just saying. I’m not a Mathews guy but I think there’s a lot you don’t understand about their bows and the company as a whole. 1.) Mathews is on of a very few that are truly and genuinely innovative. 90% of companies are paying someone else for their design, putting it on their bows and ignorant people give the credit to them. Hoyt is a good example of that. In recent years they are more bowtech and Darton than hoyt. 2. The strings are not as bad as you’re making them out to be. Every single one of Mathews pros are using zebra strings and winning. It’s part of their contract. User error has alot more to do with string problems than anything. 3.) The grip is designed the way it is for a reason, it reduces hand shock, hand shock is a selling point. I had a Mathews x comp with the factory grip on it and I shot it amazing. I don’t think many people can shoot the difference between factory and aftermarket grips, including you. This video is biased. What I have said here is not it’s facts. Give people facts bro. I enjoy your channel and honestly this is the first video I have not. 🙂
I appreciate the criticism man! Mathews as a company is incredible. The people behind it are some of the best. That being said, when i walk into a bow shop and shoot a bow, I don’t really care who invented what. Who’s being personally innovative. As that stuff is all good positive things but I’m personally looking for a bow that shoots best in MY hand. That being said, I think the phase 4 has its quirks… but it’s an amazing platform to shoot from. I never once have said I Hate the phase 4 or mathews. I have stated I don’t like the grip and strings, and that’s going off of personal experiences. I’m gunna buy a phase 4 and go deep into it using it and killing something with it😂
@@michaelpoplawski3246 they are as good as any other string and better than most. I have used zebra strings as well as other companies over the years and they all wear about the same. Most string issues are caused by the user. Either not waxing or waxing to much. Bows being setup incorrectly lots of ways to ruin a string. I have had no issues with zebra strings on my bows or on bows I work on for other people. With a properly set up and maintained bow zebras hold there tune wear well and shoot lights out. Most of the crap talk about zebra strings Is internet regurgitation. Or people who don’t replace there strings when they need to be replaced. I shoot my bows daily. So I put new strings on them every year regardless of how they look. No string should be used more than a couple seasons.
@@jasonbarnes3188 I just got a TRX with brand new factory zebra strings and can assuredly say they are the worst strings I have ever seen. I have shot many stock strings, and aftermarket I have used threadz, rogue, GAS, mean moose, and will be trying Joeys next. I can say for sure that the zebras have the worst serving and overall quality I have ever seen. I have done a better job with a ratchet strap and serving jig in my basement.
Great review! (Except for missing those loose limb bolts 😂) I'm strongly considering buying a phase 4 in the next month. I actually still shoot a switchback xt. I've been shooting and loving the xt for over 15 years. Every time Mathews releases a new flagship bow, i go try it out. The phase 4 is the first one that felt like a significant improvement over my switchback! Lol. It feels absolutely amazing to shoot! It is extremely expensive to set up, but i feel like it will be another timeless bow that ill enjoy shooting for many years just like the xt. 😁
I used to have a mission hype dt bow and I saved up for a while and got the phase 4 when it first came out and omg it’s insane how nice it is to shoot and my dad recently got one he had been shooting a mathews outback which is a 19 year old bow but he liked shooting mine so much that he went out and got the new phase 4 last week definitely the best bow I tested out
I have a V-3. A very sweet and forgiving bow. 31 model. Everything that followed is not of ANY interest to me. I could care less. They are interested in sales numbers. Their pitch is getting old. 🤨🤬
Mathews is Apple in archery product. They are the leader in the market so they can charge as high as they want to keep people in their 'ecosystem'. Its ok for people that can afford, but if we are comparing features over price point, other brands is far more user friendly & adjustable, but still shoots better or at least the same as Mathews bow. Not hating Mathews, but come on guys, dont be bias if you are using Mathews, admit that other brand is better in price over features offered
1. Everyone replaces strings. 2. A good archery shop will not charge you to swap mods. Mine doesn't. 3. The riser works with all aftermarket add ons. I have a basic quiver, CBE stabilizers, Fuse sight, and a whisker bisquit. Top options aren't a negative dude.
Not everyone replaced strings… some people don’t expect an additional $150 charge for new strings. I get it works for every other company’s accessories. Top options are a positive that they are an option… but let’s be realistic… charging $750 for 2 stabilizers and a V bracket is a little absurd
@@HaxenHunt how many people use only BowTech accessories or whatever brand their bow is? The point is Mathews came up with a specific design integrated into the bridge and they also provide the ability to use the industry standard accessories as well. The half glass full mindset is a major bias. Not like you are stuck with only Mathews accessories. A friend just bought a Hoyt Venom Pro, $1200 retail, on sale last year's model $799. He slapped similar components to mine on his bow. He blew up the cables and strings learning to use it and gets new ones in a week. Many folks stretch out their strings and get retuned in 3 weeks. Not a biggie. Many folks replace strings every year. But most of your negatives are hardly negative given the bow is designed with compatibility and flexibility. There is just absolutely nothing you said that says why the Phase4 sucks. Perfectly crafted, lots of options, dead quiet. Oh, and no bow marketing actually meets IBO rating without using the exact setup they used for the IBO rating. It would be great to have an honest industry rating based on the average hunter not the bow's maximum potential with the lightest arrow.
I bought a Bear Legend XR and haven’t replaced strings on it. It doesn’t even have roller cable guides! I’ve shot the Mathew’s it’s nice but I will be upgrading to an Elite just because it’s better in my opinion than the Mathew’s. I don’t care about speed but the Elite is faster than the Mathew’s with my 400gr arrows.
I own the phase 4, so I’m obviously a fan of it but your theory doesn’t really make a ton of sense considering you could apply that to anything you’re not required to spend all that money at once, or to make the bow function
" this is really gonna come down to you BLAH BLAH....BLAH"!!! Thumbnail says different..... " WHY THE PHASE4 SUCKS!!!!" BADASS SHOOTING!!!!!! PRICE SUX ASS 100% AGREE!!!!!
And you failed to mention one of the number 1 reasons for the Phase 4. It is absolutely hands down the quietest bow on the market. When hunting you want a quiet bow.
Elite carbon era is quieter 🤷♂️ but with that aside... quiet is a marketing gimmick. People have been killing deer (more successfully than us) for thousands of years with louder and slower bows. Heck, they were probably at their loudest I'm the early compound bow days with steel cables and four pulleys and people still managed to kill deer. Quiet isn't the be all end all. Success is determined by the archer, the bow is just a tool.
I agree with @josh. How many people have heard their bow or felt the less vibration in their hand after they shot at an animal. All a gimmick. In fact professional target shooters bows vibrate more than any hunting bow and they hit bull's eyes day without complaint.
Love my Phase 4 33. Switched the grip, and have avoided all the Integrate stuff (much as i would like to have it, way too damn expensive). Would recommend it to anyone but it is damn pricey.
I bought a OG Z7 the day it arrived at my local shop over a decade ago. It has Zebra strings and I've never replaced them and have never had a problem with them. I shoot a hundred shots a week or so. If you take care of them you'll never have a problem.
That’s a good thing to hear but if you’re shooting that much you should change your strings out haha no strings should go a decade with hundreds of shots a week…
I'm a Mathews guy, but I'm not going to defend these guys like some of the fan boys on here. The accessories are ridiculously priced. They are super innovative, but if you pay $250 for a $50 stabilizer, you are crazy. Time to look at Elite I guess.
Shooting mathews for over 20 years and never had a issue with strings or cables.I thing the comment about sight price is off as well there are plenty of good sights under $400
No one should get offended by your opinion! I shoot a v3x 33 and I love it but I use to shoot a $300 bear rant so it was a big upgrade! But awesome vids and love the content
Im getting the phase 4 because one mf told me i would never have anything better than my diamond edge 320 so I shot a buck bigger than he ever will with my diamond and now im going to own a bow nicer than he ever will
Excellent mathew's review. I argue these exact points with mathew's fanboys. I don't have a money tree out back and mathew's doesn't sponsor me. I also have shot a lot of bows with a better draw cycle without the dump into the valley, other bows have a better valley, and other manufacturers are offering rotating mods and easy tuning methods. Don't forget you have to buy 60$ top hat kit to tune a mathew's which Ive had to do. I played the mathew's game, I bought 2 different mods for 60$each, 1/2" draw length doesn't hit my sweet spot so I had to tie on a dozen d loops along with twisting cables, I had to buy a tophat kit after shooting for a couple months to get bullet holes, and it took a couple hundred shots before the zebra strings were totally trashed. Steered me right away from mathew's as I want a good bow I can get use from before a restring, easy tuning, rotating draw length, and an affordable price. If I bought a phase 4 I'd have 150$ in strings, at least 60$ in modules, and 60$ in top hats within the first 6 months which elevates 1300$ to roughly 1600$ for just the bow and this doesn't include potential press time to have this listed work done and mathew's aren't that much better for me to logically justify the cost. If you buy a bow, sight it in(30-50 shots), shoot mechanical broadheads, hunt and then hang it up for the year then yeah mathew's will work for you without issue. I've also found hoyts customer service and warranty to suck after owning two hoyts.... its been 8 weeks and I still haven't got the parts for my rx4 and the closest hoyt dealers are both an hr away from me and I have 3 other bow shops inside of 30 mins away. Right now I'm favoring elite, athen's, bowtech, and pse. I will be staying away from mathew's and hoyt until they make changes and this comes from someone who shoots almost daily averaging 200+ arrows per week.
My VXR almost ruined my shoulder with that brutal cam. Prior to trying Mathews I had shot Hoyts and liked them a lot. After my Mathews I tried PSE with their EC or “easy” cam, and now own 2 of them.
The 29 should definitely get higher speeds than that, appears the limb bolts are backed out some, did you verify draw weights beforehand? And i like your videos, but none of these are really a negative, most ppl spending that much on a bow plan for new strings anyway if they are smart, and if u dont wanna spend that much on accessories just run whatever you had on your previous bow,and i never had my shop charge for swapping out mods unless its older model and they need to order in special order ,i think alot of bow choice comes to the person shooting cuz theres a ton of different opinions nd videos out there and after shooting all the flag ships i definitely find some dont line up with my personal feeling on some of the brands out there, some ppl swear by certain bows that to me feel like trash lol
I’m not sure you can really say the bridge lock system is “a lot of cons” most people Frankenstein their bows, you don’t see all bowtech bows or all Hoyt bows etc… I would call it a convenience to be able to match everything and in all things you pay a premium for convenience 🤷♂️
I completely agree about the Zebra strings and the grips. It seems like my strings absorb moisture. On humid days my peep is all out of wack. I changed my grips out also. It makes me question if the bow is worth it.
I used a chronograph on my 33 inch phase 4, the speed was 335 fps I'm drawing 65 lbs, 31 inch draw length, 457 grain arrow/broadhead (broadhead is 125 grain). I agonized over this and other bows. I shot best with it
Yeah there's now way on earth that you got those speeds. The its rated at 332 and that's with a 350 grain arrow. so a arrow at 450 or whatever you said won't get to 300 buddy. Either your lying or your chronograph was broken or way off.
I used to have a Mathews and all our local dealers didn’t have extra mods because Mathews wasn’t sending them out. So I couldn’t even shoot the bow because it was not my draw length. Also yes the prices are insane an stupid. Grip is trash so I got a ultraview. I won’t ever go back tho. Not worth it.
The creed was a fantastic bow in its time, hell it still is! I love my p4 29 but I wouldn’t complain. About being stuck with the creed! Bows have hit a plateau as far as IBO and such. They will figure a way to get them to the 400 mark at some point I bet and that will be the platue for a while.
I haven’t shot the phase 4 but I have shot the v3 x and most bows below that and I haven’t had any problems with my zebra strings I wonder if they changed some stuff because I have had great luck with them
He's a hoyt guy he will never like a mathews and will never like the grip . Personally I like the grip on a mathews over a hoyt . I had the rx4 for a year and had the rx5 for about a month and the rx7 for 2 weeks. Yes mathews is still basically the same bow since the halon but everyone else is still trying to play catch up
I’ve owned multiple mathews haha I don’t hate the bow😂 just like you don’t like the Hoyt grips I don’t like the Mathews grip😂 I’ll be shootin a v3 more here shortly haha
I currently shoot a Bear Refine EKO w/ a 28” draw. Shooting a 450gr arrow @ 270fps set at 60lbs. I’m currently using Vapor Trail strings. I’ve been looking into buying a Mathews bow for some time now. Still undecided though. No doubt that Mathews has always been and will continue to be at the top of the food chain in the archery world!
@@MrSilverbullet00 I’m not going to lie to you, I’ve never shot any of these bows. I’m an outsider with a budget bow looking in (I shoot a Diamond Alter which is made by Bowtech and is a helluva starter bow). It’s Prime that does the “buy the flagship, get strings every 2 years for life” correct? That’s a massive plus if their strings are decent on them! I’d imagine that’s going to boost their sales which in turn will get them to sponsor more shooters so it looks like they’re on the up.
Phase 4 is a slightly different V3X. They split the limbs added rubber and called it new. The integration is very appealing, you can slim down the bow tremendously! I think Elite Omnia is the best new bow on the market.
+1 on the omnia comment. Only thing ppl can complain about is the lack of integrated accessories on the omnia but I myself am not interested in mathew's overly prices accessary options. I much prefer the draw of the omnia over mathew's as well.
@@HaxenHunt I was lucky with mine on the cable rub and I picked it up right after christmas. Its been thru around or over 3000shots and I still love it. Strings and cables are still in excellent shape and draw stops still hit at the same time as they did right off the shelf. What I haven't figured out is the varying speed tests from different places. Backyard bows omnia review was 300-302fps @500grains(comparison his phase 4 review was 278@500grain), archery talk was 342 @350grain, and my local shop was 344 @360grains(rip xv). But I watch other reviews on youtube where the omnia is barely faster than a mathew's with varying weight arrows. Everyone whose been around me shooting my omnia says "its a fast bow". Owning a "350ibo" carbon defiant turbo and a "350ibo" rx4 turbo I notice my omnia to be faster with 360,390, 420, 468grain arrows but this all could be subjective. I really want to chrono my bows to settle my own curiosity.
Just bought a flag! 😊 Do you have a timeframe on when you will be announcing the winner? Thanks for your support! I’m active duty Air Force. That is great that you are giving back.
What about Hoyt bows your spending almost 2,000 for just a bow then you add all the Hoyt accessories your well over 6-7 grand but your complaining about Mathews😂😂😂😂
monster 6, dead in the hand, 500gr arrow at 29 inch 300fps. zebra string never had issue and last over 10k shots. winner choice have more wear in 200 shots ripoff. peep turns on any strings initially. has to be fixed on any string. longevity off the zebra has been amazing. buy after market if your happy to waste money every year. bows for the past 16yrs haven’t impressed me to buy. they dont have less vibration, the thud is louder and when any company claims above 340, its really 320fps
I shoot a Mathes 31.5vxr and looking to change to something else. Like the guy said Mathews is the Apple of archery and can charge what ever they want. But the other bows companies are great as well! Promble to me is that bow technology is at its peak only thing to deal with is acceroies for the bows. Why isn't Mathews compation shooters shooting a phase4 type bows, because to many sponsors and money for the shooter to give up. But this is my opinion. There are so many bows to shoot , I shoot what feels good in my hands not the company.
Agree! Always shoot what feels best in your hand rather than the company! If a Mathew feels best than go with that but I always encourage to shoot what you feel best shooting!
3 of the 4 Mathew’s guys at the Mathew’s Open right now are shooting phase 4s. Levi Morgan is in second place in the open pro class shooting a phase 4. So idk where your getting your info that no one is shooting a phase 4 because most of them are
@@rrrrr5118 yea my son Chris Hammond is one of them. He tells me the P4 33 is amazing. Him and Levi still run their regular stabilizers and they both remove those grips. Haxens video is basically just talking about the ridiculous price of the accessories! And he’s right IMO. He talks very highly of the bow itself.
I build custom strings for my local Archery shop and he is a Mathews dealer and i know the 1st shipment of Phase 4s that come in he had countless number of those limbs to break and the he put a hold on his next order until Mathews got all those fixed and its not the only shop that ive heard of having this problem.
Just bought mine and I can’t tell you how nice this bow is my pro shop does all changes free I just bought a mid tier sight for 150 and a mid tier whisker biscuit don’t get caught up in that matching bs this thing shoots true only complaint is the price in my opinion this video is a little nitpicky but information that’s important to know I’d say if you can afford it but one
Hey what's up man just want to say I love your videos love. Just wanted to give you a heads up though the prices that you stated on the Mathews is incorrect the 29" is $1199 and the 33" is $1299. 🤙🏼
I have the V3X 33. Set at 30 in draw and 70lbs. 80 pct letoff. I have been hunting and shooting for some 50 plus years now and this is the best I have ever had. These new ones are basically the same. I do not get the hate for the grips and strings. Mine are a year and a half old now and they are fantastic. I do however; NEVER intend to put Mathews accessories on it. They are just insane with cost. I have a great stab., system with front and rear stabs fantastic sight and other accessories. Total cost was only a bit under 400 and they are fantastic. I do not miss having Mathews names on them, they work very well so you do not have to end up at over 3k to outfit. You can finish in the 16 to 1800 dollar range all in and never have an issue or miss a critter. :-)
I agree mathews bows are awesome I shoot a halon 32 just purchased the phase 4 33 and the mathews accessories are out of this worl when it comes to prices but you don't have to go with them only thing I'm going with is integrated rest and quiver I'll stick with bee stinger for stabalizers best in the buisness and good video !!!
I dont disagree with anything you said. Hence why I bought a 29 and love it. Epsilon rest, tight spot quiver. Viper stabilizers and unfortunately no one else makes a dove tail rear stab mount so that got me full price.
Cannot agree with you on the zebra strings, I have never had an issue with mine I’ve been shooting nothing but Mathews for 10 years and have bought 4 brand new Mathews bows all my zebra strings have lasted me the entire first year but I replace my strings every year anyways.
It sounds like it's a good bow, just so expensive I wouldn't consider buying. And it rubs me the wrong way their accessories are more expensive than other high end accessories
Great review, all fair talking points, more reviews should be this fair and balanced, it's a well know fact that zebra strings are plain garbage and the grip is the first thing to go when you read the forums. Mathews should use some om the money from their accessories and put it into better strings. And why on earth does mathews insist on still using mod's for everything? I get that its ekstra money for them every time you want to change the slightest thing but they are going to be taken over by virtually all other brands within a couple of years especially since they now have the crappiest way of tuning too. The do hold well, balance well and are second to none in low noise but that's just not enough anymore
I have a Mathews vertix. It will shoot just as good as the phase 4. Mathews prices have gotten way out of control. They are still riding the Covid archery hunting hype train that will hopefully die in the next few years
It’s not a bad bow I like it but I don’t love it.. I sold mine for another Hoyt. It has just a tad bit more hand shock and vibration than the RX7 or VTM. They don’t have vibration or hand shock at all. I shot it 3 months straight i wanted to like it bad but as soon as I picked up my Hoyt’s it didn’t compare. But it’s still a great bow just not for me.
I have a Mathews 27 and I really enjoy shooting it. But I don’t know that I would spend the money to get the newest ones. In my opinion I don’t feel like the new stuff they have added is worth it. But that’s just me. It’s good to hear some of the negatives instead of hearing “this is the best shooting bow ever.” Lol Sweet and informational videos as always bro.
The upgrade cost for sure wouldn’t be worth it! Until something huge changes! Thank you so much for your support man! I’m just tryin to be real and unbiased on all the videos! Haha
@@robertpagel8951your just justifying not spending the money lol, his v3 27 is lights out over halon series. So I can understand that as I almost didn’t upgrade bc I like the v3 27 so much.
I've shot dang near all the flag ship bows since 2018, i keep going back to the reign 6 😂 ive hatred mathews grips when they changed it from the way the zxt grips was
