Thank you very much because this really explained it for me, my lecturer just complicated his explanation using 1/2 of the first value and 1/2 of the last value of the time window and that was so confusing for me when doing the calculation but now i used your method to solve his time series questions and got same values and answers he got. An easier way to smooth even number moving averages is to take the first 5 numbers, half the first and last number then add them all together and divide by 4

Just a small doubt, when doing 4-mean smoothing, why we can't draw the point in between 2nd and 3rd year and why we chose centering ?
