No The Actor grabs her Top which part of her Jumper and the lights went out and just Let down the Chil and the Child hide some where

​@user-bw3ji1ms2t that's a lie..I have been in and seen many matilda films and that's how they do it. They attach a harness with straps under her shirts and trunchbull is able to grab the straps and swing her around, then the lights dim and she goes to the other side of the stage.

There is also another difference In the stage version: trunchbull says "about wearing pigtails" In the movie version: trunchbull says "about pigtails"

BTW the caps at the end of each sentence are when they all yell at the same time

I think at this point they were doing the odd half British/ half American accent so Americans could understand the words better!

I believe there’s hooks in the wig near her ears so Trunchbull grips onto there without hurting Amanda.

I think she has a harness underneath her blazer but they make it look like it’s her hair

They use it so if the hooks let go it could leave the actor paralyzed

On stage, the Trunchbull's normally played by a man as a joke.

@@floatinglittledinosaur7794 No, the hammer is fake. It's musical theater, they would never throw an actual hammer onstage, it's way too dangerous and there's a union for actors. They cast men in the role of Trunchbull, because it plays up the role for comedic effect. Also, why would a production have someone throw a real hammer and endanger kids lol. As a stage performer, that's highly inappropriate lmao

its not a joke they just use man because they are larger and its easier for them to do the hammer thrown

@@Kolemeier So, why would broadway productions go out of their way to involve real dangerous flying objects when parents have entrusted them with the safety of their children. If you don’t know, there’s a thing called Actors’ Equity Union which prevents anything like throwing heavy hammers around on stage..it makes sure the safety of all actors are ensured, otherwise the production becomes incredibly sued. So, therefore no real hammers are ever involved, just like there are no hammers involved in the film adaptations. It’s called theater, it’s all acting.
