You shouldn't be proud of Roman lmao. All he did was reveal that they're running on emotions and have no plans for the future. The biggest winner is Matsson obviously. He got what he wanted, gutted the senior team, has an informant in Shiv who thinks she has the upper hand and now the Roys have lost their fathers legacy to a guy who doesn't respect them.
Matsson: Do we find ourselves located in some kind of incestuous family reunion? Oskar with Icelandic accent about Greg: Two meters of nepotism. Inbred Habsburg giant. (Inbreeding ended the Austrian Habsburg Empire Dynasty.)
They called Greg a Hapsburg giant and mentioned svåger-politik (brother in law politics) which is a slang for nepotism. Also called it an incestuous family gathering. Basically said "two meters pure nepotism" when looking at Greg. Finally my time has come for my language to be useful! A show that features Swedish characters, it's not common! Even though we're pretty big in the tech world. Also Skarsgård is our national treasure, love seeing him play such a sleazeball
It's funny, if Tom just treated Shiv like he treats Greg, his work-wife, you wouldn't be able to pry her off him with a crowbar. Her love language is open hostility.
kendall calling roman "romulus" and shiv "pinky" is nasty stuff, he's turning into logan and roman not seeing that he's being manipulated because he trusts his brother just like he did with his dad....they really tricked me thinking the roy siblings alliance would be real this season lol
well they didn’t do this right. matsson did it out of spite because they wanted out. he gave an offer so high that they had to take it. that’s why he called frank and not one of the brothers.
They have to do the deal, it's an offer too large to refuse. Especially now because Gerri those also heard the offer, Rome and Ken can't refuse and deny the amount they turned away from. If they were to try to refuse, the board would eat them alive. They would have no more credibility.
It has to go to the board for a vote which is why Matsson called Frank to go around Kendall & Roman to make sure that the other board members knew. Legally, you have to present the offer to the shareholders. If you don’t, it’s an SEC violation. That’s what Roman was talking about in the gondola.
I think Matsson told Shiv the blood story to make her feel like she has the upper hand. And to see if he can trust her. He knows she's looking for validation and a new father figure Something obviously happened between him and Ebba, but it's probably so well-buried that he feels comfortable making sexist jokes around her.
Mattson won because he’s both got them to reveal their desperate emotional cards over ATN and that they wanted to tank the deal and furthered the divide between Shiv and made a new “team” by massaging her ego and giving her a sense of competency over him. It’s like Logan said, they’re not serious people and any serious person runs circles around them.
Growing up in sweden private saunas would be any gender, and usually naked. But it's mostly older guys hanging schlong and the women and younger boys with towels. But within your family it wasn't strange to be naked with both genders, does that freak you Americans out? In school or in public places it's divided by gender though and I assume a company retreat it would open them up to a ton of lawsuits if they mixed women and men.. I assume it's same in the rest of Nordic countries
Such a great ep. Matsson did to them what Kendall did to vaulter in ep 1, by offering a number so high, they can’t say no. It has to be put to the whole board (which will happen as he called frank not one f them) and the board have to act for the benefit of shareholders and recommend the deal to them. To say no would be a breach of their duties. Mind you, the info about him having a looming harassment scandal could be a valid argument to say no, maybe, if shiv reveals that, but she seems to want out.
Bleed the Swed is a great line. Morgan makes a great point, Logan is dead and they can no longer disappoint him as he’s dead. Hahah. Butttttttttt they still are haunted by presence. It’s going to be great seeing how this all shakes up. I love the retreat and how they looked down on the one guy for filling his plate.😂 I can’t think of his name, I just call him old forehead guy. Connor sending pics got me. Sean, “Corporate Joker,” line was good. It’s sooooo f*cking apt. The “let’s just keep one of his sweaters that’s racist” got me. Shiv has some baller lines. Greg just keeps failing upwards. I love how they make fun of Greg and the whole nepotism thing.
Why does it seem like that? I hear people say she helped write the "kill list" but 0 proff of that from what I've seen. She's kind of useless in my opinion. Kendall and Roman were the only people who didn't want this deal to go through. The board and Matteson wanted it so shivs advice to bid more was the most obvious advice when you are trying to acquire a company. In the end Matteson just gave a higher number
Well there’s that story that’s still supposed to come out. If she hates Tom he would be the face of ATN and he’d be humiliated. I also think she’s playing Matsson too for now.
She could take over ATN afterall the deal is 50% cash and equity so they are still invested and Matsson isn't going to be running the company completely.
