I was once in a restaurant in San Diego and Matt Barnes was sitting across at a nearby table. For some reason, his kid had a ball and was bouncing it at their table. The kid lost control and bounced away and hit a woman in the head at a nearby table. The boy goes to get his ball and the lady tossed it back hard at the little boy, which caused him to cry. Matt gets up and proceeds to cuss the woman out. The dude is unhinged

Yeah, Matt shouldn't have done laid a finger on that kid and should have walked away. That just not Matt Barnes and never had been. Now, when it comes to him losing that job, I say he probably could care less about that. He doesn't need the money from it. He still has his podcast, and you know he makes money from that, plus he did play in the NBA, and he's in several business adventures. I do believe Matt on the whole Sacramento Bee deal, though. I would bet Jason didn't try to get ahold of him and his side of the story before published that article. I do wish they waited another day or so before doing that since he just got into the sac hall of fame the day or 2 before, and it was his hometown. Sacramento Bee is known for putting out half story's and half truth articles before. The first thing that comes to mind is the whole Richaun Holmes deal. It may be a different person writing that article, but it's still the same place that published it and same people who approves everything first. During the incident in question Matt Barnes was screaming on the sidelines expletives to the refs over a call involving his child. The student announcer, Lancer, commented on how surprised he was to see Barnes, a former NBA player screaming foul language on the sidelines. That caused Barnes to go up to him and confront him. Barnes asked what he thought he was doing. Lancer, repeated once again that he was surprised to see Barnes doing what he did. When Barnes asked if Lancer wanted to do something about it, placing his hands on Lancer's shoulder in a threatening manner, Lancer replied and said he wasn't planning on doing anything and for him to go back to his seat. Lancer did not say it in the way Barnes described. Barnes is a thug and liar and should be banned from further school related functions for his crude behavior.

Touchy topic but I am close to Matt Barnes age so I think I get it and I'll put my (admittedly, not requested) two cent about it, although I know if will probably anger some people. There it is: I agree that it is wrong to touch someone else to make a point but I also believe that people should be aware that they cannot go around disrespecting others and expect no backlash of any sort from it. When I was growing up, I knew that I couldn't just insult any adult around me, especially strangers, cause there was a really realistic possibility that this stranger would not hesitate to whoop my ass If a teenager was talking smack about any of you on a microphone (in front of your kid as well), I hope that you'd confront him about it as well. As it reads to me, it's an adult establishing a bond in trust and giving creative critism, or engaging in a moment of enlightenment from a teacher to a student. Upon hearing about this and actually watching it I was expecting something more. A hand on a shoulder shouldn't get a man fired. Plus, he has been a professional for a long time now, providing platforms for individuals to express themselves in an open and honest space. Society is bugging right now
