where was this "too much talent" arguement with the warriors?? nah they just didnt have good chemistry. period lol. it was mostly kyries fault but gordon stunted the growth of our two young bucks in JT and JB... the warriors knew their roles and fit them perfectly. thus the 3 rings in the past 7 years. if the celtics actually fit their roles last year who knows how great they'd be and kyrie might have resigned. so many things could have happened.

Their projected starting 5 is off a bit. If anything Hayward would be better suited for the 2 because he's a better shooter and better ball handler than Jaylen Brown. So it'd look like this: PG: K. Walker SG: G. Hayward SF: J. Brown PF: J. Tatum C: E. Kanter 6th man: M. Smart If Stevens doesn't feel comfortable starting Hayward then Smart will start at the 2 and Hayward will be the 6th man.

I am not sure where people draw the conclusion that there are fewer mouths to feed. Kyrie is gone, but Kemba profiles as the same type of player. In fact, Kemba has one of the lowest AST Percentages of All-Star caliber point guards. And before someone says 'Charlotte had no talent', AST Percentage is a measure of how many field goals you assist on while on the court. It's a measure not just of passing capability, but also of whether you are a pass-first or score-first guard. Kemba is definitely a ball dominant, score-first guard. Also, we have Enes Kanter, who has never profiled as a passing big in place of Horford who was one of the better passing bigs in the NBA. So I am not sure where analysts get the conclusion that Boston has fewer mouths to feed. Boston is a team with a projected starting five who all profile as score-first players. Kemba and Kanter we just went over. Tatum isn't a bad passer, but he is almost always going to be looking for his own shot (and he was the one that stopped a lot of the ball movement last year, not Kyrie). Jaylen Brown is categorically a terrible passer. Smart is underrated as a playmaker, but he's likely to come off the bench (albeit in big minutes). Hayward is probably the second best passer on the team. We lost Irving who, for all the criticism leveled by Celtics fans, was a very good playmaker when he focused on it. We also lost Horford, who was critical in his ability to initiate our offense from the top of the key or the post. Maybe Stevens figures it out. It's entirely possible. However, I'm not giving Brad the benefit of the doubt on this, not considering how badly he managed the team last year.
@syrzsouls3665

all due respect here but come on you cant believe that? kemba passed a lot in charlotte it just diddnt convert into ast's kanter wont have the ball much anyway and he will more thenlikely get traded anyway brown is not a bad passer dont know where you found that tatum can pass liek you said but either way kemba hasnt shot as much as kyrie in charlotte. now he has all star caliber teamates to share the ball with
@raginasiangaming910
@raginasiangaming910 4 года назад
@@syrzsouls3665 AST Percentage speaks to itself. There's a difference between passing the ball and being a playmaker too. Part of being a good playmaker is making sure you get the ball to your teammates when they are in a good position to score. The arguments with shots not falling or Charlotte being bad just don't hold water. Not when Tony Parker can go there and, in his first year, as the backup, produce a noticeably higher AST Percentage. Or go to this year, Kemba has a 21.7% AST Percentage. Kemba has never really been a great playmaker, he's always been a score-first guard. For reference, the infamous non-passer Kyrie has a 39% AST Percentage this year, on a team with arguably less talent than Boston.
@raginasiangaming910
@raginasiangaming910 4 года назад
@@syrzsouls3665 and Kanter likely won't have the ball a lot, unless Stevens thinks he can teach Kanter to pass from the post like Horford did. I am not sure where you are getting Kemba as a good playmaker. He posts one of the lowest AST Percentages of 'elite' starting guards in the NBA. Only one that I can think of who is noticeably lower is Curry, though that is because the Warriors liked to have Green initiate a lot. Kemba not passing isn't necessarily a huge issue if Hayward is used as a Point-Forward, thereby deploying Walker as more of a two-guard. This is probably the best option for Boston. Hayward actually has the same AST Percentage right now, but it looks like he may miss some significant time with his hand fracture. The bright side with Kemba is that his efficiency has jumped a lot this year. I said in the off-season that his efficiency would go one of two ways, and I'm glad to see that it has gone up (due to other players taking some pressure off of him). We will see how things go if Hayward misses significant time.
@syrzsouls3665
@syrzsouls3665 4 года назад
@@raginasiangaming910 Charlotte was bad don't deny that, and the question isn't weather kemba will pass wich he will and has, its a question of who he is passing to. haven't you seen zeller completely drop the ball multiple times off a good pass from kemba? its the type of playmaker that counts kyrie had fewer assists and more iso plays so people wont be in the passing lane as much. kemba took more shots and passed more. the thing is kemba kept doing 200iq passes that resulted in turnovers due to bad chemistry or just bad reaction time

Tatum can post up and he can threaten a big with his face up game. He has taken fades as well and he will be a walking mismatch. Truth is, Boston is too small. Starting with Kemba as sg, Tatum as a 4, and Entnes Kanter at a center.
@doranmitchell1700
@doranmitchell1700 5 лет назад
Kemba at SG?
@damonvaux9109
@damonvaux9109 5 лет назад
Ok, pg then Jalen Brown will be the shooting guard. Still, Kemba is 6'1 and that's being generous. Who is he going to stop on the Bucks, Pacers, and Sixers? Tatum at the 4, same question. Who is he going to defend when he comes up against Giannis, Horford, Randall, AD, and other 4's in the league? And look it up, Kanter is the worst defensive center in the league. Boston went from one of the best defensive bigs in the league in Al Horford to Kanter. Banes is gone, Horford is gone, Morris is gone. Boston is starting a small team and not only that, and more importantly, a poor defensive team, maybe with the exception of Jalen Brown.

Jamario Stevens Gordon averaged 25 a game in that Warriors series on 41% shooting with 4 assists a game and was playing good defense if you watched the series and he didn’t cost them a game in the series he played well. Donovan averaged 21.5 points a game on 30% shooting. Do you know how bad that is? He also averaged 3 assists a game and shot his team out of 2 games that series. So how you gonna say that Donovan was better this past postseason than Gordon was vs the Warriors
@jamariostevens5097
@jamariostevens5097 5 лет назад
@@peterjo5215 Yea 25 on 41% FG is amazing. Also Mitchell series against OKC is way more impressive. Also he was a rookie. Hayward only made it out the 1st round in 2017 because Blake was injured. So yea
