@Tattle Boad how? He couldn't have said it more plain than he did. Matt is no hater. He is pretty much spot on. That brand could have been much further ahead with reasonable prices. Now it's defunct due to embezzlement and or the lackluster designs vs the exorbitant cost. Lavar has tons of great ideas that I agree with, he just didn't follow through and got greedy, trying to live vicariously through his kids.

Absolutely. Thank you Matt Barnes, 100% correct. LaVar had a brilliant initial plan. All 3 kids to UCLA. Gelo was always a 4 year player. If you can't make to the NBA take advantage of one of the highest quality educations on the planet. LeMelo would have been one and done. Then it became about LaVar and not about his sons.

EVERY...SINGLE... TAKE on this video was proven wrong less than 18 months later. They make a combined $30mill/yr ON THE COURT. Melo won ROY and Lonzo is helping the 1st place Bulls win. They will likely bring in over $500MILL ON the court between Zo/Melo. This doesn't even include Melo's Puma deal estimated to be high 8 figures. @@parkerxjr He went into the business knowing that the upside would be higher than signing with the big 3 brands. I think it was worth a risk. He's gonna make plenty throughout his NBA career off of salaries alone and wanted to start a trend of creating your own brand from the ground up rather than selling out to the big 3. The business partner redirecting the $1.5m elsewhere is what caused all this. Otherwise, he was repping BBB with pride.

I've said it many times before, but it bears repeating... *Matt Barnes in the title = Instant click* I've been hearing commentator after commentator criticize LaVar Ball from the way he peacocked himself and BBB prior to Lonzo getting drafted to pulling the middle one out of UCLA because of the suspension for stealing overseas to the run-up to LeBron coming to the Lakers. I didn't disagree with a single negative opinion about LaVar, because they were all correct. However...the way Mr. Barnes laid out the context of the case against LaVar Ball was one of the most eloquent, well-thought presentations I have heard in the last two years. As far as I'm concerned, his criticism of LaVar as a father is the most accurate and the most damaging *because* it wasn't reactionary, it wasn't sensationalized, and it wasn't presented from an emotional place. It was so matter-of-fact and plainly stated, nothing more needs to be said because it literally can't be said any better than Matt Barnes said it.

Mr. Ball was not letting melo play high school hoop. The kid was taken off the team by dad because he didn't like the way the coach used melo. Melo was playing AAU basketball in highschool. Mr. Ball has publically criticized high school, college and pro coaches for their use of his kids in games. So, what team, any team, would want the distraction of this dad with his kids as players???

Zo being the older son and having the college success that he had might have been the worst thing that could have happen to Gelo and Melo. Lavar uses the clout that Zo was getting and completely changed the blue print for Gelo and Melo. If going to college and broadcast your talents with the elites of college basketball worked for Zo than why change it once Gelo got in trouble?

True! Lavar got greedy. Think about it, with the BBB brand they were making money plus the show on facebook. So Lavar saw it as, why play for free in College and took Melo and Gelo over seas and they got paid to play but they didn't get the hype needed for Gelo to make a NBA team, and now Melo can't go to college because he played for money or in now a pro. He should kept Melo in school and have him play at UCLA or any other college that recruited him. SMH

I think the turning point was Gelo stealing in China. It showed him that whatever happens to his sons (who are morphing into their own men) good or bad had nothing to do with him. It was a wake up call that he didn't have full control anymore so he took Gelo out of school and he started doing all the crazy stuff to regain "control" over his sons lives

2 years later and Zo and Melo are doing well and more famous then their dad. Gelo has captured everyone's attention and hoping he does well for himself. True American family following their dreams and their pops is showing them how not to settle. People just arent used to seeing that.
