He's being recognized by those who count and not only care to follow him as long as the hype is rolling. Being offered a lead role in West End pretty much out of the blue without having any acting experience at that point surely falls under that category.
He deserves so much more popularity, it sickens me that just because he isn't a typical pop artist he is overshadowed. This man has such an amazing voice!
This is so perfect....better than the Adele version, that it just shatters you. How can a person have such a sublime voice? This might be my favourite.
Jesus! I remember listening to this on radio 2 on that night and I couldn't believe my ears. I love it now as much as I loved hearing it live for the first time then. That voice is pretty powerful!
I was a bit afraid he wouldn't nail it, because it is a song that I really love from Adele, but I closed my eyes and it just gave me such a moment of relax. Thanks for sharing such an incredible voice.
+Maxine Price He already was recognised. By credible artists no less. About a year ago Beverley Knight recommended him as her co-lead in the West End musical "Memphis" and poducers offered him the role even tho he had no theatre experience whatsoever. His dedication to his own work convinced them that he'd pull it off. If that isn't recognition, I don't know what is :)
Great voice! I didn't realize this was a LIVE VERSION until the very end when the dj's voice comes in. To me, THAT'S when you really know a good singer...when you hear them live and they wow you!
Stephen Nutt it is beautiful. If you ever get the chance...listen to his version of "I Can Make You Love Me" at Zedel Concert with just his pianist Paul Bullen it's stunning
WOWE !!! Here i am loving what i'm hearing,(new one for me) then at the end, this womans voice comes in.....jaw drops....realization !!! ....this is a radio live performance!! THIS GUY IS JUST.....MAGNIFICENT !
man oh man .... I could listen to you forever. your music is sooo from your soul. When they say music is the universal language, you have the communication down! What you sang, I felt. thank you Matt! xo
I honestly believe people need to look past the stigma of X Factor when listening to this guy, he has genuine talent. As well as a killer voice he also writes his own songs, unlike many stereotypical X Factor artists/winners.
Matt was on Ken Bruce' s BBC Radio 2 Tracks of Our Years all week selecting tracks to play and telling why they are important to him. Since he came out of the studio in September, Matt has been asked to and has supported countless charities, including going to Africa for Sport Relief and Comic Relief. It shows how much Matt is respected.
Thank you Matt from Israel!!! You and your music and your voice are just super beautiful. I am with you since your first audition.... (please excuse my spelling, mother tongue is German but I usually speak Hebrew ) Love U! You are just great.
This was absolutely spell binding what a singer and artist. He is a songwriter, lyricist, musician and singer working with one of the greats who have worked with Adele Egg White and many of the other prestigious writers and musicians they must have enjoyed working with him. :)
I really like Matt. He has an extraordinary vocal range and shows the power of it here. A really great cover. One of the best X Factor singers to date, in my opinion... First Time will always be my favourite song of his, however...
Buddy Williams He's a singer/songwriter/musician who was (quote)"shipped off" to the auditions by some friends. It snowballed from there and his voice is pretty much the reason why he won it. Check my playlists if you like to know what he did since (he's on his 4th solo album now) ... and before :)
made33able, he's a real musician so I should say honor to whom honor is due. I'm an American. Matt has a rare original talent. I hope he has more music in store that are yet to be heard. Please, let us hear them, Matt. Thank you.
Amazing voice and talent...this guy can sing ! Think big things will happen for him and yet he will always remain humble and not big headed like alot of the X Factor contestants.2011 X factor was a flop as there was no one to beat this guy.
Did you not see when he sang "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" at Boot Camp? His range is crazy. I didn't like his attitude during the shows, but I always respected his talent.
