what an idiotic comment. if you want no talking - go and watch the music video / live video. it's a reaction channel. the guys do an incredible job at reacting and doing it before and after the song rather than all throughout it.
I remember working on a construction site back in the day and we always listened to like a version every week. When this came on every bloke stopped what they were doing and listened . You could hear a pin drop
I’ve literally always wondered what it would have been like to have heard this live. I think I would have had to pull off to the side of the road if this came on while driving to work!
Thanks guys (Ballistic Gal here) for the reaction. Was happy you "got" him and could appreciate his artistry and talent. As much as popularity helps fuel his livelihood, Matt has never been one to chase the spotlight. As you will find with a lot of Aussie artists, it's too much of a sacrifice to move overseas to "make it" so they tend to be big in Australia and then get on people's radar by touring as support acts, playing festivals or airplay on alternative radio stations. Ryan, I ended up looking at Matt's influences and sure enough Springsteen was on the list 😊
@@WelpHereWeAreOnRU-vid @Gary Speed I had a senile moment. When I was talking about Springsteen I was talking about the other reaction you did for me from Gang of Youths where you talked about the influence. The lead singer of the band mentions Bruce. As for Matt Corby, to clean up my booboo, his influences range from Jeff Buckley (can totally hear it), Lauryn Hill, Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, Bob Dylan and Sam Cooke to name a few.
I loved this reaction to one of our most talented Australian sons. It’s interesting that you thought he had lots of potential to “do more”… he has been a massive success here in Australia for years. Check out Monday, Song for Interlude, Untitled, Runaway… his list goes on and on. He’s amazing
Matt is a brilliant musician he can play about 8 instruments and writes all his own stuff, never went commercial, started his own record label. Aussie artists are raw talent no messing about down under! They put everything into their performances! I suggest you check out Australia’s favourite rock band Cold Chisel- either Bow River (2003- ringside version) or Wild Thing.
No matter the decade, DJs are not cool. This young singer/guitarist is so amazing. Oh, man. His emotional performance here hit so hard. I've never heard of him but I'm definitely gonna look up his work. Sweet reactions, guys. 🙂
These DJ's were very cool. This is Triple J, the government funded youth radio station and it was and always will be eternally cool. I've been listening to them for decades and these two were particularly good. This station was NOT your typical commercial (there are no ads) generic, boring radio station.
@@MiguelLopez-is9te Oh, I'm relaxed Miguel. I was just giving you some info in case you were interested. Why would you think I was tense? Sorry to have bothered you.
Matt is incredible and so unique. Please check out Australian legend John Farnham singing a Beatles classic “help” live with the Melbourne Symphony orchestra. He is known as the voice down under
Matt Corby reaction list 1....song for interlude live on resolution tour 2....trick of the light live on resolution 3...resolution live on resolution tour 4...made of stone studio 301 5...Lonely boy live on jjj 6...chains....like a version 7...amazing grace acoustic version This is my top 5 male vocalists 1...Elvis 2...Matt Corby 3..John Farnham 4...Jimmy Barnes 5...Devin Townsend
Thanks for this reaction. Suggest delving further into the Matt Corby library to see how he immerses himself in his art. He really is a unique artist who to me gives me Jeff Buckley vibes quite often. I'd suggest trying more of his live stuff, including Song for Interlude - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8MpjPfKK0FQ.html&pp=ygUdbWF0dCBjb3JieSBzb25nIGZvciBpbnRlcmx1ZGU%3D Of his more recent work, this one is worth a look - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Wcxo1GI2Me4.html
Matt is fantastic, talented and plays multiple instruments. Has so many great songs, I would recommend Trick of The Light live on the Resolution tour. He is very popular in Australia, but doesn't seem to chase fame and is truly independent so does what he wants and how he wants. Miracle Love, Resolution are other fantastic songs.
Mr Corby is an incredibly talented guy,he plays so many instruments and writes all his songs. He very carefully choreographs his image and musical style, his style is Matt Corby and that’s it, to the point of being the “Reluctant Superstar “. Two tracks from his Resolution Tour that are brilliant are “Trick of the Light” and “ Song for Interlude”. Matt’s music is far superior live to recordings, his is a guy that is performance driven over commercial offerings. Also his track “Monday” live at Paste Studios is hauntingly good, don’t miss it.
Having discovered your channel with this video. I agree, it is about time you got introduced to Matt Corby. Arguably the greatest vocalist of our time. The man is special. So happy you found him. I hope for many more Matt videos in the future. Id be happy to recommend some.
Thanks for the reaction, Matt is such a huge talent! He’s a virtuoso, plays all sorts of instruments and has so many great tracks (Trick of the Light, Song for Interlude, Miracle Love live - Manchester Cathedral, Resolution, Monday etc etc). His entire new album is worth checking out tbh! Another artist/legend you may want to check out if you haven’t already is John Farnham, his cover of Help with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is phenomenal 😁 Welcome to the cornucopias bounty we know as Australian music 😎👍🏻
Matt Corby is independent does all his own production etc plays many instruments piano guitar bass drums and more. It is a struggle for Australian Artists with labels to break out overseas and infinitely more difficult for an independent artist to do so. There was a quiet period when his recording studio flooded I know. He is an extremely talented artist and well worth diving into his catalog❤😂
I feel like Matt's about as big as Matt wants to be. He was on Australian Idol years before this song and he hated the experience and the way the big time industry worked and he went silent for a few years after, polishing his own craft his way. Brother is easily his biggest song and I feel if he'd really pushed he could've become bigger riding that wave, but it'd get in the way of doing music his way. He's released a tonne of other amazing music, he still plays big gigs around Australia and the world without ever having to compromise his vision for what the industry wants of him.
When you said "he should be bigger than he is", he is big here in Australia. Not every fantastic Australian wants or needs to make it big in other countries. Here is sometimes all the magic we want to attract. Try these other brilliant Oz singers Live - John Farnham, Guy Sebastian, Kasey Chambers, Sia, and the list goes on. x Linda.
Looking forward to seeing him at the Enmore in Sydney next month. Here he is live at the same venue a few years ago ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nlSUH0he4aM.html.
The sad thing about this reaction is that its being seen as new music when it was done early to mid 2010's. Awesome reaction guys, hopefully it helps make this artist more well known. This is musical art with the best of them
Australian artists are free to produce their own music without recording companies trying to force them to provide music that meets their formula for a hit. So many songs today coming out of America are repetitive and becoming boring. Matt is a musical genius and his music is on another level. You will be equally amazed by his other songs.
I see that you guy's have reacted to a few Australian singers but you haven't yet reacted to the two greatest Aussie singers. Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham they have been around for 50+ years Jimmy has 15 no1 albums from his solo career and 5 no1 albums with his original band Cold Chisel. John Farnham is recognised as our greatest singer and is known as the voice he is recovering from mouth cancer surgery where they had to remove part of his Jaw. Could you please react to Jimmy Barnes Stone Cold featuring Joe Bonamassa his voice will knock your socks off. Cheers guy's.
If you seriously want to learn about Australian music, but also International Indie bands/artists who visit.... check out more 'Like A Version'.... we also have something called 'Tram Sessions'... where artists/bands are performing live on a Tram, surrounded by commuters....... that is the Australian music scene.... if you can't sing and perform live.... you DON'T make it.......
