Thanks will view. Biden just may be the Best President since FDR. Given what he inherited, he's a miracle worker. Glad he spoke out after his cancelled travel plans in May/June. Dangerous Red Party. Shooting Amendments last week on chocolate milk to $1 salary on Agency Career Professionals by Name! The three letter Departments we all rely on.
How Matt Gaetz wriggled out of his statutory rape charges and is now positioning himself to be one of the most powerful members of the house is sickening to me.
As I hear it Matt Gaetz is thinking of running for governor of FL and his dad Don Gaetz is coming back into politics for Florida State Senate seat. Eeesh.
Couldn't he be at least threatened with sanctions or removal (now with republican support!)? Kevin would HAVE to be able to find four Republicans gate him that much.
IMO, Joe is most compelling when he is a little piqued, angry. He is more focused and direct. When he says “it’s real, it’s real”, I get the feeling he himself is just now seeing how bad it is. Stay angry Joe.
@@medtle1 In our property law class every time he spoke up in class he would try to flirt with the teacher...it was gross and made everyone uncomfortable. He had the worse breath alive. A girl he dated called him baby D. His daddy rented him this huge house where he would try to throw parties...they were always lame lol.
We're forgetting that according to the Constitution Trump is not allowed to be put on the ballot because he instigated an insurrection and he gave aid and comfort to insurrectionists!
@@Scoddygoat The Supreme Court only did that regarding one particular challenge brought by John Anthony Castro, a little-known candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, who sued Trump earlier this year in an effort to disqualify him from running for president and holding the office “given his alleged provision of aid or comfort to the convicted criminals and insurrectionist that violently attacked our United States Capitol on January 6, 2021.” A lower court had thrown out Castro’s case, ruling that he lacked the legal right or standing to bring the challenge, and his petition to the high court had asked the justices to decide whether he did have standing in the matter. There are other challenges though still pending against Trump in Minnesota and Colorado, which are scheduled for trials later this year.
He's ruined the Panhandle. Cheater with Gerrymandering amongst other environmental atrocities. Florida is a political mess. AZ has turned themselves around. Blue Governors are thriving🗳️🗣️🌊
The whole thing about him executing drug dealers is such a mess that he can't even keep it straight. Earlier this year he did an interview on Fox News with Bret Baier where he bragged about freeing Alice Johnson, but Baier brought up that she would've been executed under his law. Trump's response was "Huh?!?!", and then said it would depend on the severity.
@@Nortarachanges Yeah, he also claimed she wouldn't have done it in the first place because of the death penalty being in place. Which of course makes no sense considering if the death penalty existing stopped certain crimes from happening, then we wouldn't still have executions in this country.
She was a Bigly time dealer. 🤮🤑🤑🤑And an example that rehabilitation is possible for majority of inmates. See Norwegian Country's incarceration pratices to keep crime low.💕👍
That was in june (2023), rump thinks votes should be what he "feels", like the size of his apartment in rump tower--10000 square feet for taxes, 30000 square feet for bank loans & the worth of mara lardo.. He thinks he's running against Obama & we haven't fought WWII yet.
He came because he told the judge in Michael Cohen’s case he couldn’t do his deposition because of this trial. Therefore, he HAD to or be held in contempt!
Indeed, he doesn’t have to be in NY but Mr Angry wants to be there because it causes the greatest suffering to him. If he loses big in NY everything else is just part of the end. 🍿
Biden is a master at this. I have every confidence he will do the right thing. Dems will listen to him. Biden will do what he has to to keep the country going. Kevin would have to agree on aid to Ukraine and then some .I think Biden should ask Kevin for help reversing 2017 tax cuts to balance the budget.
It is STUPID for Democrats believe that Republicans are going to punished at the voting booth for not making government work. Government NOT working is what their base wants. MAGA Republicans operate on the principle that legislative governance doesn't work, and that the country needs to follow the example of Mussolini and take "direct action." Not less government. NO government. Chaos that only a strongman can cure. Fascism. For anybody with eyes, this is the direction the country is headed. I for one don't see how to stop it.
@@blueberry-ri7eb Any bad turn the country takes is going to be blamed on Biden. And the majority of Americans very well could be persuaded that solution is Trump.
I dunno. Politically, I think it would be beneficial to ONCE AGAIN look like the only grownups in the room that do what needs to be done for the good of the country. To top it off, the GOP infighting will only continue and make them look worse.
I'm not a lawyer, I have filed one civil case in my life, and I remember at the bottom of the form it asked if I would like a jury trial. If that section is left blank the default is no jury. It's not very complicated.
The question has to be HOW do they get their licenses? DeSantis, Jordan, and so many in Trump's circle and OUR cabinet? Anyone know? Cannon at Michigan State?...silence. Legacy and endowments at work or what is goin on?
What Lovett is saying at 43:30 about democracy is very significant. It sounds silly to people who are really engaged with the subject, but there are people out there who aren't, and they don't honestly know or understand the significance of democracy and what the loss of it would mean. Democracy 101 has to be part of the message for those voters.
@@blogabenteuer It isn't like we haven't been warned, either. Forgot who said it, but: "If conservatives feel they can no longer win elections, they will not abandon conservatism, they will abandon democracy.", as well as "Fascism will come to America wrapped in the flag and carrying a Bible."
NO JURY for YOU because you DIDN'T CHECK ✔️ the BOX - Just like when you SCAMMED your Supporters who didn't UNcheck the REOCCURRING donation box !!! 😑😑😑😑😑
I don't know if I'd characterize what Gaatz is doing as stabbing Kevin in the back. McCarthy isn't in the dark about this or anything. Gaatz isn't trying to dodge around and get behind him. This is full frontal. If the Dems are smart they'll get something in writing from Kevin if he approaches them for help. We already know how honorable he is.
Crooked Media should put forward links to both Biden's full speech in Arizona and his interview with Harwood/ProPublica. Yes, the public is capable of finding them online. But it would be more convenient if Crooked Media promoted them by email or push notification.
As I watch this an update just arrived stating that McCarty has been removed as Speaker. No doubt even worse chaos will occur within the Republican Party. Will they actually be able to agree on anyone as the new Speaker?
What exactly is the House going to do after the FY'24 budget is passed? Other than pointless impeachment hearings, no one expects them to do anything useful.
Also, the pro-choice ad w the Republican spawns into a couple’s bedroom needs to be on repeat, b/c that’s basically what a 2nd Trump term will look like.
@@hippodinoreserve6090 you have no idea what a 2nd Trump term would look like. I'll give you a clue though......... The media that has been running cover and protecting Joe Biden will turn their unatics level up once again and start lying about Trump starting war, separating children, say he is the reason anyone dies, etc. While democrats and liberals will riot in the street calling it peaceful protest. They might even attack the capitol again and instead of it being called an insurrection. They will say Trump is a bunker boy and afraid. Trump will turn the economy around and everyone who actually works for a living will feel secure again and actually have money to save and have fun with. Yet anytime he does speak the media will shout at him calling him names and claiming he is racist, sexist and homophobic (all lies). Trump will be uneffected by this because he doesn't care and our country will be back on track. A secure border, freedom to be and say whatever you want, we will have the right to defend ourselves and family, etc. It's pretty simple stuff. Weird how democrats can't ever understand these simple concepts.
Two words to reach young US voters on the benefits of living in a democracy: “Alexsei Navalny.” A country of 150 million people, in which if you are a candidate for office against the autocrat, u end up being tortured in “Scitzo” - continuous solitary confinement, with a camera on you 24/7 for the delectation of the murderous dictator; not allowed to have family visits-a country in which if you go out to protest a terrible war holding up a BLANK PIECE OF PAPER!! u end up arrested and disappeared. Countless advantages of living in a democracy, but trying to inject a visceral understanding of a completely constrained society might help. Altho I realize Navalny is a sore topic, highly politically incorrect in Ukraine re his statement on Crimea a while ago. But If Navalny had been successful in his presidential ambition, think of all the children, animals, citizens and soldiers who would still be alive & simply living their private lives. All the lost limbs would still be in fully healthy bodies. Ukraine’s fertile lands providing the world w food would not now be destroyed & littered with landmines.
Rumpers dont think their putin would ever turn on them, yet he has told them "you knew i was a snake when you let me in." He couldn't care less about them, just wants them to keep sending money. "They dress trashy but they love me" (j6).
I think he's the only one who could lead and heal Russia Any other leader will be as corrupt as Putin, and he won a lot of support from the people and tackled and exposed the corruption
Kevin McCarthy's to nothing devoted, His speakership bid was outvoted. His pledges were truthless, He smiled like a doofus, And now his career has imploded
Is saying “First” respectful and within community guidelines? *edit. It’s probably Matt “Gets” (Gaetz) if it’s German. I’d guess he probably just says “Gates” though.
It's weird that MAGA was so concerned about "fly over county" being ignored by the coastal elites, but now their 2 main leaders are from California and New York/Florida.
Apparently you don't know Bakersfield,CA..i grew up there..i still have relatives there..half are Republican..half are Democrats..my Republican relatives may not like McCarthy but they will still vote for him..i don't know if he'll be primaried but it wouldn't matter..his District will just elect another MAGA Republican

I think the media should cover the social media reaction to Trump. Show what his followers are saying and how many there are. His followers reacted like this and this was how many people said it. Put faces on the TV and show their banality and fever. Trump controls everything, so giving him more air time helps him. People just need to see whether this is having an effect on a large majority of people or it's having no effect at all. Cover the crowd not Trump.
Thank goodness late night talk shows are back for the Jaywalking type interviews. None of them know WHY they follow their ProFit when asked. Brown is definitely not their their color though.
He cannot. The only recourse available to the former President is the same for everyone else: appeal. This applies to both the civil trial and the state-based trial in Georgia.
If he becomes dictator, he will shoot anybody that disagrees with him over anything until there is no resistance against him about anything. Dictators get rid of the press that is part of a free society first so we don't hear all the details of what he would be doingbehind our backs to control us. Evidently you don't have a full understanding of how autocratic leaders assume and keep power. They take all the power and money and the rest us of work for their betterment and our detriment. Wealthy people and corporations never have contributed to American workers. American workers and the Unions built America into the greatest free country in the entire world. Small business owners with new ideas and hard work built America. Money doesn't trickled down. American was built from the ground up bt people who loved their families, their friendsand their communities. I am from the greatest generation, but it is partly my generation who has forgotten how we built this wonderful country. Some (about 1/3 of us are trying to destroy it from within). What happened to them?
Listening to this, I’m so glad Australia has no confidence & double dissolutions to send the government back to the voters. It puts such a brake on this type of garbage (in reference to McCarthy)
What if a republican member of congress becomes desperate enough to nominate Barack Hussein Obama for the vacated Speakership...? #RedHatHedSplosionsInThreeTwoOne...
The big problem is that the media is acting like this is a normal election. Everyone that cares about our semblance of democracy and freedom of the press needs to start really making it clear that this is not normal and extremely dangerous.
Yes, so yes. Red Party in USA? Unbelievable. Young people like history and get it. Democracy Docket tshirts available. Movement required by Super Tuesday Spring in every city. DNCC doing a ground game Nationwide effort, see 'District' near you. Meantime we can join local groups, assist a neighbor and start a dialogue on democracy (republic). Michael Moore podcast from beginning of this year has 12 step program. 💙🌊💞🇺🇲
Anyone who believes we need a multiparty system needs only to look at the House today. It would be exactly like this every day if we had multiple parties. Just look at the Prime Minister in Britain -- they're never sure they'll have a job tomorrow.
I'm SO happy that YOU young adults are compacting your tools to save our Democracy... this is a respectful question...are u young enough to speak with our very, very new voters? ❤✌️
Maybe Biden should run some ads that are just clips of Trump saying dangerous, deranged, fascist-adjacent things, and end them with the tagline, “I’m Joe Biden, and I disapprove of this message.”
house minority leader hakeem jeffries must ask for the Speakership‼️ today and every day, that’s if he really wants it. Otherwise step down and give the job to someone who actually wants it👁🙀👁
I agree that there needs to be more discussion on the benefits of democracy. However, when I’ve spoken to young people, I hear from them that capitalism as practiced in the US is an anti-democratic force. They do not think we can have a true democracy given how capitalism is practiced in our country. I think until you address how people are currently forced to live and work and eke by under our current form of capitalism, you cannot expect them to fully appreciate the benefits democracy. They just aren’t able to see how democracy benefits them. They see our current form of capitalism as facilitating authoritarianism.
Brandeis In an opinion authored by Justice Edward Sanford, the Court concluded that New York could prohibit advocating violent efforts to overthrow the government under the Criminal Anarchy Law. Citing Schenck and Abrams, the Court reasoned the government could punish speech that threatens its basic existence because of the national security implications. Despite the small scale of Gitlow’s actions, the majority was not persuaded that they were too insignificant to have an impact. The Supreme Court previously held, in Barron v. Baltimore (1833), that the Constitution's Bill of Rights applied only to the federal government. Gitlow partly reversed that precedent and established that while the Bill of Rights was designed to limit the power of the federal government, the incorporation principle allows it to be applied to states. In dissent, Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes held that Gitlow had not violated the clear and present danger test used in Schenck. Since Gitlow’s call to action was abstract and would not resonate with a large number of people, Holmes concluded that there was not sufficient imminence to warrant punishing the speech.
Don't forget that Jayapal is one of the reps that submitted that pro-appeasement letter on Ukraine a while back before she backtracked after a backlash. I'll be donating to whoever primaries her.
Matt talking to trump is all about hurting democracy and helping Putin. The only thing left out was Ukraine aid. Gaetz is still collaborating with an insurrectionist.
Why not oust him and then when the vote comes again have the Democrats vote for him because then the one rule saying that one person can oust him would be no longer valid because that was with his previous speakership?
I think she's great too! I think she would make an excellent president as well. I'm a Libertarian but I would vote for her even if Trump wasn't on the ballet simply based on what I feel her ability to lead would be. She neither gives nor tolerates BS.
It is surprising not to hear any discussion about Butler’s anti-labor work in the last few years. She played a key role working against gig workers when they were organizing to get more rights.
If people feel as though they don't have anything; if they're living with their parents with nothing to show for it; if they're carrying debt in tens of thousands and can only get a job paying $15/hour, they have nothing to lose. If people feel they have nothing to lose, democracy means nothing to them.
I mean, the thing is, members of Congress, including the Speaker, are supposed to work for the American people, not the president or their conference. That's kind of the point.
To start to fix our democratic systems: Remove political parties altogether and get corporate spending out of politics. Ideally also a campaign and pac spending cap; show me what you can do on a budget.
I can’t speak for most of the electorate, but from my perspective a major reason why Congress is such as mess and why people don’t feel democracy works for them is because they don’t actually have much choice in who represents them in government. Candidates for the election are chosen by the major parties, typically going to those who have the best marketing campaign to get recognized; voters are only allowed to choose one candidate rather than having multiple choices; and districting means everyone in a strategically drawn geographic area is represented by a single seat who may not even represent a majority of their constituents instead of having a mix of congress people representing the different views of an entire state or region. We need to reform our voting system and how people are represented.
Negative campaign ads for trump don't need to be doctored in any way. No black and white, no dark music, just play a montage of his insane rally clips for the world. I think people will contrast that with the heavily edited Biden ads
No Dem support for McCarthy! If I were smart, I would get the 19R’s that have Biden districts nominate a speaker w/Dem support. ANY deal that results would be better than today!
The problem is platforming Trump *without context* … presenting him without highlighting *why* what he is saying is dangerous, his lies, his motivations. The problem was not news talking about Trump but rather them presenting it as if it was an even side of the coin (bc people feel like they will be seen as alarmist if the genuinely admit out loud what the ramifications are).
