There are as many or more AEW fans talking about how terrible this was. I agree with the idea of this story being good. However, the execution was so poor. It looked so B-rated. I think what you don't understand is that when WWE does things poorly, it's also criticized. For example, the Draft was STUPID and a waste of time. The problem here is that, outside of the wrestling, the storylines and execution in AEW have been absolute trash across the board for a long time.

You do know what the consensus is, right? If you thought it was "good", good for you; but, despite your imaginary narrative of any criticism only coming from "shills", the regular person who watched this laughed, didn't take one second seriously, and was comedy gold. If that's what they were aiming for, they did it, but if they wanted a serious angle that would draw intrigue they should of had a MJF, Jay White, or Takeshita attack Khan. This reeks of Young Bucks starving to stay relevant and stealing heat from Perry and casting themselves in their biggest angle.... A big "womp womp" it will go down in history as

Just 3 weeks ago they made it known on THEIR TV that if you attack someone at AEW you will be fired. Now you can piledrive the owner and force him to eat piles of white dogshit with no repercussions. Matt should just ignore the things he isn't willing to be honest about. Seeing one of the most genuine people in pro wrestling just shit on their legacy to keep their friends happy, it's sad to see.

On top of that, Tony in character wasn't there that night and was cut off by the young bucks who completely took over the show. Wrestling is supposed to have internal logical consistency, if there's 189 backstage attacks monthly then clearly we are all PRETENDING that it is acceptable behavior except for this 1 occasion we're randomly acknowledging you can't do any of the shit we're doing on this program. What exactly is horrible about it other than "I just want to complain about aew more"? Every time similar angles have happened in a place like wwe or even tna it's always been the hottest thing going on. But now just because it's aew I guess it's this horrible awful story. It's so hard to take aew criticism seriously anymore cause so much of it is so disingenuous and biased and just trying their hardest to willfully always be negative regardless of what they do.
