favorite video on youtube! i was planning a MTB in the forest and camp a day there in the wilderness and i stumbled upon this video that made me want to do it even more!! thats how we should live life. peace.
i cant find any that are this open though. i want to go out for a couple days witht just bikes and backpacks. most places dont allow trail side camping.
looking forward. save money on my enduro bike. work hard as a grinder to make my dreams come true. go away from past. start live again. noob in riding. always love to ride. plan is be one of the best. even as a 50 year old man. I will never give up. one day. one day I will make it happen.
This is by far the best mountain biking video I've ever seen. It hits home to most mountain bikers. This is what calls most of us to mountain biking: nature, adventure, remoteness. Not racetracks and jumps. Keep more videos like these coming, Specialized, and you'll see a big response from the mountain biking public. I'm already planning my overnight wilderness adventure on my Stumpjumper FSR!
63 dislikes!! How could you POSSIBLY dislike this video!! Un.......believable!! GET A CLUE PEOPLE.....YOU'RE EITHER NOT LIVING LIFE CORRECTLY ~OR~ YOU'RE NOT SEEING THINGS FOR HOW THEY REALLY ARE....
I live in Bend, OR and find myself MTB riding 50-100 miles per week; my comment doesn't connote worry, but rather, suggests people might try to see with eyes that see.... If you ever get a chance, visit Bend and enjoy our 800 miles of amazing landscape and MTB single-track. Take care!
There's a local bumper sticker that says "My life is better than your vacation. Bend, OR." It's true, the single track here is world class and luckily we have literally hundreds of miles of it!
2021 and for me still the best MTB video ever. Matt inspired me to go out and enjoy mountain biking and I'm deeply grateful, I've had so much fun. All I can say is thank you
This is one of my favorite MTB videos(my favorite Trail Hunter)! I first watched it like 9 or 10yrs ago and i watch it at least once a yr.. Ive always dreamed of being able to do this type of ride. I wont ever be able to but its nice to dream!!
Awesome vid! Now... How IN HELL does he manage to sleep almost uncovered at night with bears around?? I'd be upside down a branch 50ft in the air. Amazing
okay people, it's been over 2years ago since i asked for the song name that starts at 5:02 does anyone here know that song please tell me. cheers and keep on shredding that dirt !
Ben Miller yes i know that song and i really like it but it's the song at 5:02 i don't know what it's called i can't find it anywhere. been searching for years but can't find it.
Hey, you don't have to go alone, I'll go with you! :) I'm just getting into mountain biking and I'm looking for someone to go on actual treks/tours; I don't want to go it alone and end up stuck with some broken bone (cause then I would just die there...). You are a very brave man :p
Hi, I have been riding mtb enduro bikes for the last 14 years now. I have bought bikes from different manufacturers (Trek, Santa Cruz, YT). My latest purchase is the Specialized e-mtb Turbo Comp with an aluminum frame. First, the bike's quality/price ratio is probably one of the worst, if not the worst, in the market today... a very high price for the bike's poor-quality components. Secondly, their customer support is "WORTHLESS" -it looks like people there are trained to reject claims! I say this because their answers show poor thought answers! Some of the problems with my bike: 1) I had to change the original front and rear tires after a few rides... The tubeless tire sealants were licking all over. 2) Within a year, the rear wheel hub collapsed... I had to buy a new one. 3) The latest one is that the whole frame shows a severe corrosion problem. It is growing all over it at an incredible speed. MY HUMBLE ADVICE... Run away from Specialized bikes. There are many good bikes out there with better customer support services!
Hello I'm glad to watch your video. We also enjoy something similar. On the bike we drove Tour De Mont Blank. Approximately 10000m vertical and 169km GPS data. It took about 3.5 days. I watched your video before the trip. :) Planning GR20 ... I wish you luck!
how many miles did you cover? and was this an exclusive mountain biking trail made for bikes or was it just a trail for hiking what not? I'd love to do something like this! great vid!
combining outdoor activities like that, sleeping under a tarp in the forest, same thing i do, consider myself lone wolf just the same :) however never went w a float plane to a location :D that must be a very expensive two days of mtb excursion
Loved the vid guys, soo inspiring, seen it many times. One edit comment, would've put 3 song tracks, why? because I saw it so many times that when the second song begins maybe it's just me but I kind of feel a bit sorry that the video is already ending, and it is actually on its best part! so rather intro, main and ending, three songs would've been perfect :)
I'm not the biggest fan of going up hill but stuff like this is what reminds me that two wheels can give you ultimate freedom no matter where you are. That is what mtbing is about. It's not about competition or making money but rather just simple and absolute freedom--the freedom you feel when you are one with the bike and there is nothing else but the dream sensation of the moment of life. It's not something you can describe or capture but must experience and I'm running out of characters now..
When i saw you chopping that tree, i knew i would look in the comments and see someone complaining about damaging the environment! But yeh, i wish i had the oppertunity to do something like this and it would be even better in a small group (2 or 3). Your bag must have been filled with mainly camera batteries and tools(such as pumps, spare tubes, allen keys and knifes) it must have weighed a tonne!
I have so much respect for you, and others like you. I'm sitting here on my computer dreaming about doing this stuff, and there you are doing it. It's amazing. And it's easy to sit here and come up with reasons why I couldn't do that stuff, but that's stupid. This video is great. Inspiration to the max.
@fredoellers This is a little bit different than that, but both are "real mtb". I'm pretty sure Matt had something on underneath his shorts, that's what it looked like to me anyways. The lycra stuff is great if your out for a short race style ride, but you don't really need it if your doing something like this.
i tore my an acl reconstruction, i cant do much for 6 months but all i can think about is getting a mountain bike this spring, and all the adventures i will go on
@espiritooutdoor What do you think other riders are going to do when they come across it? What if a rider is coming fast, doesn't see it, and runs into it? It's a question of safety and the fact that mountain bikers don't want to stop and go under a tree right in the way, let alone an already broken one
Soooooo sick, I'm envious. I like how he really captured a lot of the magic of a trip like this. Definitely my kind of video. Got to keep that spirit alive!
Did he ride this alone? Kind of scary to go out there by yourself if in the event you crash bad. How did he get all those camera angles? Someone must have gone with them. The camera from the back of the plane, all those shots of him in the distance.
People.... you dont have to mimicking or long for what you see here on youtube, we all dont have grizzly bears in our back yards. "take what you have" where you live and make the best of it". "Never Forget Your Beginner's Spirit."
@mbigatti Agree with ya man. It's a cool video.I love mountbiking too. But, actualy never did overnight adventure. Maybe someday I will :-) Just take my Stumpy FSR and went to the forest, enjoy the nature, fishing, make a little camp.
Dear sir you really inspired me with your excellent and exciting trail adventure! For me this is a grand new idea to get out into the wilderness with your trail bike! Thank you so very very much for sharing your experiences! Well done and great source of inspiration at least for me! Wishing you sir, all the very very Best both now and in future adventure and life! Charl (Sweden)
hello guys , am a mountain bike amateur and i just want to know a good model of a bike so i can buy it because here in tunisia we only have bikes from china and shitty dtuff so please if any one could help me i would be very greatful , for example what is the model of this bike and how much money does it cost :)
The bears are actually pretty friendly, well the black bears. They're more scared of you then you are of them. I have let a black bear approach me and they just sniffed and took off. Never encountered grizzlies though.
Well , I will be taking a small 1 man tent and mummy sleeping bag + Clothes , food and some drink :) Im thinking of attaching the sleeping bag and tent to the outside of a small bag using Karbiner clips . Would this work?
gila ahh adventure macam ni.. solo ride through the forest and what with those grizzlies!! being one with nature.. you're so awsome matt. i wish i could do the same here but our forest have lots of tigers...
I'm thinking about all the stuff he uses in the video (a tent, fishing rod, a burner, spare clothes, a camera etc). It must have been in his backpack, since that is the only thing he is wearing.
i dont know, i liked your video very much, though i dont like it when you cut off the tree, the tree lives there, you are just visiting, we should take care of out planet man... but great video...
Hello from Ukraine, is a beautiful movie, fell in love with a bike a year ago and now is not sweeter to him, largely due to the fact that the bike really feel the freedom and beauty of nature ... Good luck to you. PS Sorry for my English :)
British Columbia, Canada. It's a trail in the South Chilcotin Mountains starting at Warner lake, reached by plane from Tyaughton Lake, and back . Definitely want to do it some day.
@victorjngv Just replant a new tree. New growth uptakes more co2 than old growth. Plus the trails have to be built some how. But I still respect where your comment comes from.
GREAT VID... but i dont think he knows that if you cook next to your camp ( or his bitch made shelter) you will have a grizzly spooning you when you wake up!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah , i got fucked man !!!! Done some research now ahaha. Yeah i belive he done it alond after USAMtBer gave me some good packing tips . Thanks dude. Helped alot
Is their any other videos on RU-vid like this. So wanna do it when im older :) Good luck to all you guys who actually have the places and time to go riding . Peace
@amiri1986 depends how serious you are, the occasional downhill run and jumps would be fine with an enduro but if you want to do more of that kinda stuff get the evo version
anybody know a place in the midwest i could do this? Im planning out a trip in the Chequamegon National Forest in Wisconsin but im looking for other potential places. any help would be great
@doyouWantsomepanda thanks a lot bro , well i'm not goin to buy it in carbon , but i can get one from france , so can you please tell me how much does a used one in great shape costs please ?
i'm getting a job this summer to get an enduro expert, after that i'll save as much as i can to take a mountianbiking trip with some buddies and do this, so pumped
riding is about this...downhill, freeride, xc, bmx and more.. like everything disappeared......the future and past....all the problems ... just the moment.....bike
@cooksecurities: I love my 2008 Stumpjumper FSR. If I were in the market today I might opt for something more all-mountain like the Enduro or Stumpjumper FSR EVO.
