I’ve lived in Kentucky basketball, my whole life and I don’t think Scott Drew can handle Kentucky! Everybody knows it’s a beast! This university needs a hard-core coach! Drew is a great guy and a good basketball coach but I think it’ll be too much for his family if things go bad! We need a coach that brings credibility and strong determination and we’ll power!!!!!

I might be wrong in the long run but Drew doesn't move the needle for me. Mitch gave Cal that damn contract so he needs to swing for the fences to get the fans back on his side. If this goes to Drew without making Donovan say no BBN should lose it.

Barnhart hired Stoops which entirely turned our program around, he also got us Calipari who got us a championship and multiple final fours. He then got rid of Calipari when he started Fing up, Mitch doesn’t need to go anywhere.

This season will not be reflective of any coach since we’re starting behind and Cal is taking players and recruits with him. We’ll see what happens.

Scott Drew? Nice guy, but at KY he's in WAY over his head. If he LOST at KY, he'd be crucified and coaching at Valpo the next year. Hurley? Square peg in a round hole, so little class. We don't need a guy who thinks he's bigger than the program. Let Hurley family drama play out in CT. Oates? Don't even mention a guy whose star player brought a gun to a fight that killed a young man. He was a deer in headlights when all that went down. Donovan? Brings the specs and the stature that would be a perfect fit -- or why not let Pitino have a swan song in Lexington for his final coaching years? He's paid his dues. He's a real coach and (most important) a proven WINNER! He resurrected us once, let's go with experience. It would be fun!

Scott Drew seems like a good coach, I just don’t know if he fits Kentucky. Cal has big shoes to fill and I really don’t think our fan base understands how great Cal is until he’s gone.

Kentucky guy here. I think he’s a good hire if it happens. Here’s why….. Here is the problems we have with Cal #1 not a good X&O coach. He’s stubborn and won’t change his game plan. Many crucial games have been lost because he got out coached. Scott Drew is a good in game coach and gets more out of less talent than Cal. #2 Cal had NO relationship with the university. Him and Mitch didn’t like one another at all. And that did affect us more than most realizes. Mitch and Scott already has a good relationship #3 Cals attitude towards the fans. At first he talked a good game. But the used car salesman that he is came out. He was so distant from the local media and fan base that I’m not sure he knew just how unwelcome he was becoming. I could be wrong but I feel Scott would appreciate the passion of the fans that comes along with the job. #4 We are basically a G League. I mean Cal had a first round pick sitting on the bench a while back and never played him once!!! He basically practiced a year for the NBA. Almost ANY other coach in America would be opposite of what Cal does.

Jones lost credibility the second he said that Scott Drew only makes $3.5m at Baylor. You're looking at old tax data if you think thats what he currently makes. Rumor is he is at $6-7m/yr now.

Cal's first 10 years weren't great. The first 6 were what we respect him for. It was a consistent slide towards disappointment after that. Also, Matt Jones knows about as much as everyone else. Pure speculation.

Drew is the Tubby Smith hire. Good man, humble and still a good coach and a safe pick. He's not sexy....But he is a hell of a recruiter.

And no mention of how Cal took UK to historic lows and moments! As well the disrespect that players other than those Cal pushes recieves for instance the final 4s and Championship DO NOT happen without upper classmen ie Harrelson, Liggins, Darius Miller, etc those first few years Cal was successful and now do those players get credit fryom Cal for that or enen much of the fanbase! He even pushed Derek Wilis out of his own tv interview after carrer game in which he brought UK on top for Cal to push a Freshman in front of hus own interview and these are many things im glad to see a coaching job

So let me get this right, Drew was a 3 seed in 24 and disappointed not making sweet 16, in 23 also a 3 seed also disappointed not making sweet 16. in 22 double disappointed as a 1 seed not making sweet 16. ****21 won national title as 1 seed**** The other 8 times he made ncaa in his 18 years, met expectations as 11 seed losing, exceeded expectations as 3 seed elite 8 2 of 4 times, disappointed 1 of 4 out losing 1st game and meeting 1 of 4 sweet 16. exceeded once as 6 seed making sweet 16. lost first game as 5 seed and won first game as 9 seed. $10 million for a guy with this record?
