Matt was my music minister in high school going on 20 years ago now. He went on all our retreats and we were fortunate enough to hear his original music before they were recorded and way before he ever became as big as his is today. Since then my life has gone in a different direction and I am no longer involved in the church in any form. I still love my life, it has simply taken on a new form, but it was an absolute blessing getting to know Matt on a personal level and I love coming back to listen to his music.

I am a traditionalist Roman Catholic with ICRSS but even for me who loves Gregorian Chant and the Latin Mass, I love this song. It makes me so emotional and prayerful.
Jacob Snell I am a cradle Catholic, sang in the choir 5 years when in grade school. I, too, love Gregorian chant. However, I have learned to embrace Christian Rock. The message is the same.
@ , catholic isn't the first church founded by Christ. I haven't even read that in the bible. We Christians are the church, the body of Christ. Perhaps, the grace of God talks about the salvation in Christ. See John 1:17. If you really are into the chruch, the church started in the book of acts. You may read it if you want. We need no religion but relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. God bless ❤
@@korinnegagatiga4389 We all agree the church started in the Book of Acts. And the Catholic Church traces its history back to the book of Acts, when St Peter stood up and proclaimed that Christ had risen from the dead.
My favorite worship song... one of the thieves on the cross asked Jesus if he'll remember him and Jesus responded saying he will be with him in paradise even though that the thief earned being up there... so when we sing REMEMBER it's not really to God cuz he's not forgetful.. it's really us reminding ourselves in the song to remember what he's done for us... and crying out to God like the thief did
He had a small concert in our school gym many years ago. I had no idea who he was then. I just remember hearing him and thinking “this guy is incredible”! Several cd’s later, I’m a huge fan!
When Matt performed this at Overlake Church in Redmond, WA in 2012--it was one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard. I was very fortunate to have met him at Creation Fest NW this past summer.
We sang this at the Sunday Mass that meets on Saturday at 5pm last weekend. I usually go at Saturday at 5pm or Sunday at 11am and not the Sunday at 8am. However, even though they use the hymnal, you are more likely to sing a song by a living artist on Saturday evening.

This was the Recessional Hymn they sang at my Grandson's Confirmation last evening. When I heard the word "Jacob", I knew this was his song. Perfect - God is Good! Thank you!

I really love this version of it! The Acoustic version really allows your voice to take the center stage, and it's truly like listening to someone pray. There's a depth of emotion and passion here that I hope I can capture in my own music. God bless, and keep up the good work!
