We would have got more money for MOR in January when clubs will be panic buying to avoid relegation etc and especially if he had a good champions league. It makes no sense to sell him now imo he was on a 3 year contract. I can see us not winning a single game in Europe when u take away Mattie's goal contributions. I think it’s a great deal mate. If we never let him go his form might have dipped just like it did after rejecting the bid for him in January. Amazing money for him so hope we can reinvest some of that money now 🙏
Sad to see Matt go but he can and will be replaced. For me Matt is the kind of player who works hard on developing his game and there is still room for more development. He's a cliver player who knows he's no Messi and knows he needs to work to improve his game and awareness. He has a good head on his shoulders for a young lad and seems to be a good guy as well. I wish him awe the best in the future and youngsters should look to Matt and take a leaf from his book in regards to working hard and keeping your feet firmly on the ground. Fitbaw seems to give youngsters big heads and big egos Matt could have spat oot the dummy last year but didn't and contiued to improve his game a true young professional player, again awe the best you worked hard for it and you done well for the Celtic. I don’t see why Celtic fans celebrate the amount of money they have. No point having it just to admire The board get by because some fans are happy to beat rangers but that’s not enough. End of the day they come and go and we always do ok . If we can lose Henrik jinky etc and do fine we can lose him . If we spend well we can bring in a few and be a better all round team . This feels like a gross lack of footballing ambition and a slap in the face to all the Celtic fans. Compared to the fees commanded by some of the dross in the English Prem, and the money Ajax sell players for, for example - £30m is a massive undervaluation of the best midfielder in Scotland. Brighton should have been told in no uncertain terms to fcuk right off.
What are you going to do Scotland? Having two clubs dominate the league for the best part of a century is poor but to have one club dominate pretty much kills the league. I know you love beating Rangers but having no competition sucks the life out of a league. Outside interest fizzles out and that means the big sponsors won't come knocking and fans go elsewhere. I don't suppose it can be done but the Scottish FA needs to introduce a socialist style system where every club operates on the same finances. I can't see any other way to prevent your league from dying. It's stagnant already. Having said that, Celtic fans are that used to winning I don't think they could handle finishing mid table with no silverware and no entry into Europe.
