I wish Matt O’Riley 🇩🇰 nothing but the absolute best! 💚 Forget the fact he’s one of the most gifted players to wear a Celtic jersey in modern times but he’s genuinely a top human being. For those who who don’t know, Matt volunteers at Glasgow’s Children’s Hospital every week through a gaming programme where he plays video games three hours a week with the kids! Genuinely AMAZING human being! Some players feel they outgrow Celtic and try to force a move - not Matt O’Riley. Professional and committed right up until the end! On behalf of EVERY SINGLE Celtic fan… thank you so much! It’s been a please and you’ll ALWAYS be welcome back at Celtic Park! 💚🍀
Scottish football is far from the best standard you will see in Europe, however every so often a player comes along who you just know is a cut above the rest. Matt O’Riley is one of those players. 🇩🇰🌟 His touch, his vision for a pass, the fact he’s ALWAYS fit despite playing every minute in every game going and of course, his OUTRAGEOUS goal return numbers. 19 goals and 18 assists from midfield this season… There’s a report coming out today Celtic are demanding £50M for Matt O’Riley this summer, and you know what? So we f*cking should! He’s only 23 years-old, he’s now a full Danish international, he’s got three years left on his contract and he qualifies towards the homegrown quota for an English club. Look at some of the sh*te Dutch clubs have flogged to England for mind blowing amounts of cash (Antony for £75M) so why shouldn’t Celtic ask for big money too? If you can’t see Matt O’Riley is a Rolls-Royce of a player, then football isn’t the sport for you… 🍀
Hearts and Liverpool fan here, and I fully get where you're coming from. People seem to think that because a player plays in certain leagues they're just automatically not good enough. It tends to be the arrogance of the English, thinking that any league outside of theirs is a farmers league. They fully believe that any player from any other league would struggle in the Premier league. It just isn't true. Think Virgil. I mean I remember people back then saying he wasn't good enough for the english league. The arrogance is unbearable. Like you said, sometimes you can just tell when a player is a player, regardless of what league they're in. Put it this way, you put this lad O'Riley in the Liverpool or Arsenal squad or something, I guarantee he wouldn't look out of place. In fact, I guarantee he'd look even better. He's the most naturally gifted midfielder I've seen in our league for a long while. He has great athleticism, touch is brilliant, dribbling and awareness are top notch, likes a tackle, rarely loses the ball, and the goal numbers are crazy for a midfielder. He has all the ingredients to be a top top player. I'd take him at Liverpool in a heartbeat and I guarantee you another thing, our fans would be FUMING because he isn't from Germany or Spain. Utter stupidity.
The fact Matt O’Riley has been snubbed for the Denmark National Team is an absolute DISGRACE! 🙈 18 goals & 18 assists this season from midfield and a MOTM award vs Atletico Madrid in the Champions League as well, yet Kasper Hjulmand doesn’t think he’s done enough? Embarrassing.
We have been calling for Hjulmand to get out for the last 2 years. He lives in the past man. He only picks players that are getting too old. He also talked shit about the Scottish league when it's miles ahead of our league...
@@nicolajl.7849 Fellow Dane here checking in. For real. Hjulmand is a bum coach, with a football of about 66. It's about time he gets replaced by a competent coach.
@@gavinjohnson8951 that has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of a player at international level. A coach with any type of savvy brings a player with his numbers into the fold and has a look at him in the international squad. Plenty players who've spent their whole career in poor leagues but had fantastic international careers.
Why Spurs are not looking at this guy I don't know. Only thing I can think is that Post doesn't want any bad feeling with Celtic. Guy is just the sort of player we need!
To any Southampton 🏴 fans here to have a look at what Matt O’Riley’s like? He’s the complete midfielder. He’s 6’2, a Danish international, his touch is exquisite, his attitude is exceptional, his vision and weight of pass are a joke and his goal involvement numbers are ridiculous (19G & 18A last season). Will he go to Southampton? Maybe. It would be a very underwhelming move given he’s been playing Champions League and winning titles with Celtic, plus the interest from clubs like Atletico and Inter Milan. However it’s 2024 and the reality is the newly promoted Southampton could probably outbid both of those clubs sadly. IF you do get him Southampton fans, you have an absolute BALLER on your hands… 🇩🇰🍀
He looks great. Only reservation is that in all these clips he has space and time he won't get often in the Prem. But same reservation could have been given for VVD or S Armstrong or Davis. That said, Aribo is an example of one who has not been so impressive. So a tough one.
@@jasondowtychristianmusic9401 with all due respect - you have a midfield three of Joe Aribo, Will Smallbone and Flynn Downes. I wouldn’t worry about Matt O’Riley not being up to it.
Gioca in un campionato che è pari alla nostra B ma 19 gol 18 assist pure in B vanno fatti. Io ci scommetterei e come mal che vada sono sempre la metà dell atalantino e farebbe la manica a nuoto per venire.
@@Chiplus5 looks like juve are looking at him since Atalanta don't want to reduce the 60M asking price for Kopp - I know the Scottish league is not the strongest out there, but I have a good feeling about this guy, first his young, he can play in different positions on the field and he has a high work rate plus he plays with both feet - so if Juve can get him for something around 30M and Motta gets the best out of him this might be a bargain - but if didn't work out it will look ugly haha,, its a tricky one - lets wait and see, its a crazy mercato
It’s such a waste to see him go to Southampton if it does happen. However the sad reality is that in 2024 newly promoted English clubs like Southampton can afford to outbid the likes of Inter and Atletico. Will need at least £30M.
@@celticfan67 it's not a waste. he can develop more and then make the big jump like van dijk and mané. going from celtic to a top club like that in one season would be risky

Looks top quality. Liverpool are being linked with him. But we get linked with 50 a week. I'd rather him that the Japanese fella we have been linked with. Kubo or something. Looks lightweight. This kid has complete control over the ball. Noticed the fella up front with him. Bald or blonde. Never celebrated when someone scored. And moaned at O'Riley when he scored instead of passing.
Liverpool fan here as well. I'd be more than happy signing this lad but I guarantee 99% of our fanbase would be FUMING because he isn't an exotic name from Spain or Germany. I feel like this lad has everything and if we don't sign him, he'll be very successful somewhere else!
@@stuart_edward I was surprised to see that he is 6ft 2. He could easily handle the PL. Yeah, we do have a fanbase that wants us to sign players for tens of millions. I like it when we find a bargain. And Liverpool have never won a league title with at least one Scotsman in the team! In my lifetime we have only signed two players from Celtic. Ben Doak. And Kenny Dalglish. Omens are good. But......do we need an attacking midfielder? We have Mac A, Sboz, Elliot and Jones. Although I don't see a long term future at Liverpool for Jones. Maybe converted to a holding midfielder as he lacks the game intelligence to play attacking midfield.
