Black Dollaz NY what I mean is everyone get dressed for work, everyone gets dressed up to go to parties. Dressed to go out to eat. EVERYONE GETS DRESSED TO DO ANYTHING BUT WHEN IT COMES TO CHURCH ITS COME AS YOU ARE. Get outta here with that. People come to church like that because no one is saying anything about it. When I go to get something from God I wanna look my best. Even if I’m just playing for someone I carry myself in a manner worthy of my position.

Too much focusing on people’s outfits and not enough focus on souls. If the pastor of this church doesn’t have an issue who are you to judge? I’m a drummer and I dress comfortable cuz I have no one to impress but God and he’s more impressed with my praise and my use of talents for him than if I wore a 3 piece suit. All you are is judge mental.

You get dressed like that for everything else in the world but when you come to church there is no standard. I started out as a drummer and I know about comfort as a drummer. Your outfit can at least say I’m saved and I’m going to church to worship God with the gift he’s given me and not; I’m finna hit the mall wit my boys or I’m on my way to a party or I’m finna go meet with this chick. Before anyone even talks to you they base who you are and what you are on what they see! Look in the mirror and that is what people base who you are or what you are about before they talk to you. You (by they way you dress or carry yourself)can change what people think of you by correcting what they see before they talk to you. And then when you open your mouth they’ll put 2 & 2 together.
Maybe it’s just me. I don’t know. Does anyone else think that there is an appropriate way to dress for church? In my day I was taught that a decent button up shirt and a decent pair of pants was appropriate. If I showed up in jeans and a t-shirt one of the brothers in my church would’ve gotten me a button up shirt and if my pants were sagging off my behind I would have been reminded to pull my pants up. Do I need a belt? And the whole 9. Sure enough church is about coming together to worship the Lord but when did we turn a blind eye to the way that we carry ourselves? I bet it was when we started rebelling against that kind of correction. I’m just wondering. There used to be a time when the elders of the church wouldn’t allow you to walk up in church any kind of way. Just my opinion so sue me.
Imo, There is an appropriate way to dress to church, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with what they have on, Im a musician myself and I dress comfortably every now and then too....I’ve seen (and I can’t stress this enough) WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY worse then what they have on
Ive been taught similar, but when I think about it, being in a packed building with praise breaks and whatnot, I definitely dont want to be wearing all that. Sweating and all. I mean, the praise team also praises and worships too, and God seeks those who worship in spirit and truth, not in fancy clothes and shoes. Anyone can wear those things and still not be sincere in the house of the Lord. Imo, as long as they are filled with the anointing, then im more than ok with what they have on.
When we realized that jeans didn’t make you further from Jesus and wearing a suit didn’t make you closer. The inside matters more. These men are serving.
