But he still seems to think it's the Colbert report. We've always had great actors mostly because our shows/ films are very script orientated rather than action so the actors that make it have to be able to deliver lines. Plus we are less concerned with looks when it comes to the entertainment industry. Oh and also think royal shakespeare company. If you think of some of the greatest actors of all time there are many Brits in that list... Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, Laurence Olivier, Kenneth Brannagh, Emma Thompson, Daniel Day Lewis, Anthony Hopkins, Gary Oldman, Christian Bale, Michael Cane, Charlie Chaplin, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Kate Winslet, Julie andrewz, Helen Mirren, Helena Bonhem Carter, the list is endless.

It's because in UK when they find the strength or passion of someone, they structure everything around it. For ex : someone good in sports will have more sports lessons or sport related. They literally "nurture" the capacities of ppl instead of trying to break kids to go into a mold (there is certainly other kind of pb in UK education system but from where I seat (in fr), it sounds better than the fr system. Luckily, some schools or high schools (private or public) who still help kids flourishing, because otherwise, fr system is mostly showing what we are not able to do instead of the opposite.. Ex : You're bad in maths ? More maths for you. You are good in plastic arts? The typical answer is "Every one is good in plastic arts, it's won't be useful, try maths or french or economics" It's kind of a realistic caricature

@@sasbarilla2008 also we have a great sort of foundation for actors to transition into the acting industry with all the serial TV shows we have like Midsomer Murders and Poirot and Emmerdale or whatever. It provides the opportunity for hundreds of actors to play a part as a guest actor for an episode and if you see the records of British actors, a lot of them will have began as a guest actor on one of these shows. Like Emily Blunt
