I had the opportunity to hang with Matt for a few days at one of John Daly's golf events in Tennessee, and let me tell you - the man is one of the most humble people you'll ever meet. We were just talking about hunting, life, and sports and the man kept buying ME beers. One of the best times of my life.

Drank for years daily til I’d black out. Just to numb the pain of all the horror I saw when I was in Iraq. Never had the strength to just pause, take a moment stop and talk to the woman I had then and just tell her I’m falling apart. I drove my life like a mustang pinned to the max til the wheels fell off. Lost my wife of 12 years, to a guy who had his stuff together. Now I have to live with the mistakes I’ve made forever. My daughter now lives in a split home situation and I cleaned up for her. I’m a very blessed man, god gave me a second chance to get my life together. I’ve had a rough road. But I know we all have. It’s about being open sharing. And listening. Learn from your mistakes, take ownership and help others along the way. I had an amazing wife who loved me, that was then. I think about her still. But I got a second chance again with a woman equally as amazing. And things are a lot better now.

The price we pay for our mistakes is often paid in our hearts. Semper Fi!

I have Struggled with alcohol. I can quit easily for a while. I haven't drank for 7 years at a time, 2 years at a time two days at a time. I just know it's caused me a lot of problems. It's been almost 3 years now. I'm 57 yrs old and because of my health I know I can't drink. I've always had an addictive personality. I'm so happy I stopped. I hope I continue being sober. 🙏

matt thank you brother, im 26 dec 2021 is my sobriety date. god save me so did AA. coming up on 3yrs in december. its one day at a time. sometimes second by second, min by min or hr by hr. just pray when u get those cravings trust me I wouldn't want to go back to my alcoholic days or my drug using days. if nobody told you they loved you today. well I love yall praying for the sick and suffering alcoholics all over the world and here in TN and the rest of America love yall I'm out. good song Matt

I've been sober since January 15, 2023, came to Indiana to save the lil bit of sanity I had left. My ex reassured me he's support me emotionally and be there with every step of the way. Only to find out it that was his way of getting rid of me and moving on 2 months later 💔💔💔

My boyfriend, The Devil tried to take him. He drank himself to death one night, got out of the hospital, I picked him up and he went out and got drunk that night. Got mean when he drank and liked to fight, hit and drive drunk. He went to prison. He went and then went back. I knew it wasn't him. I stayed with him. Every day I answered that phone so I could be a life line to him while he was going through detox being locked up. Thank God for his Mamma she helped me and the kids. Thank God for my folks, they helped too. I worked hard but was home at 4 p.m. to take his call and answered every letter. I could see that Light in his eyes and knew he could change. We are soul mates. I know we played together in Heaven. He rescued me and I him. We have been married now and both sober almost 25 years. We raised our two and his oldest are in our life and now grandbabies. My folks love him now. They hated him but that all changed when they saw he could change too. Our kids are successful and know the power of abusing alcohol and drugs. We love one another and I will be with him forever. I am forever glad I didn't give up on him.

Ive been in that same dark world that most people don't understand, but I took a stand against the evil of drugs and alcohol. I was done with dope after my heart was crushed that's why I started dope and drinking my self to death, but it got old and that is when I took a stand and walk out of the valley of shadow of death and walked in the light and now i can tell you im 6yr sober from heroin and alcohol and my life is better than ever
