Since it's launch in 2020 Matt Stephens has been riding the Cervelo Caledonia-5 Road Bike. Built for long days in the saddle with a long-distance geometry and thanks to the 34mm tyre clearance you can ride the Caledonia-5 over a number of different terrains. The bike also ensures no watts are wasted courtesy of the compliance built into the carbon layup and no added gimmicks. This really is a premium, sleek-looking, versatile road bike that can be ridden all year round.

We sent Matt Stephens on a mission to put the bike through its paces and over the last six months he has really put it to the test. Watch the video to hear Matt's thoughts and let us know what you think in the comments below.

OK, I desperately need a bike for a 100 km or even 100 mile rides on and off road. Matt just highlighted the bike that I need after the ice and snow disappear from eastern Idaho. Now I need to pedal a fat tire bike in the snow for 1 hour and 40 minutes at about 130 beats per minute at about 4 mph for my bike commute. I will be thinking of Matt's bike while I pedal. Idaho's spring and fall are British winters

No mention of the price of course. I might be missing something but looking at the Sigma Sport site this is an £11k bike ? Guess it depends on the overall spec and I see some Cale-5s at ‘only’ £6k with Di2. I love Matt but how relevant is this review to 99% of the population ?

Have Cervelo sorted out their bottom bracket issues yet? I had many problems with my S3 which took almost 2 years to eradicate. A great bike however despite many niggling issues.

I have the Caledonia, the 5 has more aero front end with the fork tucking into the frame and fully integrated bar/stem for the cables to run through so you won't see them anywhere. I am sure there a bit more nuance but that is my take away. Where I live the Caledonia-5 frame was $5500, I got my full Caledonia with Ultegra 12 speed Di2 for $5k so that was the better way to go for me.

This bike was really easy to assemble ru-vid.comUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.

Nice advertisement. The professional’s bicycles are not the same sold at the LBS. Cannot forget this frame is a Chinese product with terrible, substandard, factory, push-them-out-the-door production. Remember who created this brand - their legacy is in the toilet.
