So they adopted this dog as a stray and then didn’t get him groomed for a year? With no brushing either? I don’t want to be judgemental or unempathetic I understand with COVID or that they could be going through stuff it just hurts my heart, don’t adopt a dog if you can’t take care of it, and there’s at home grooming as well. It’s not too hard to bathe, brush, and trim him down once a month. And these breeds need to be brushed often too.

I've watched a couple of your videos now and I really like the way you are with dogs. I started grooming my own shitzu and I was nervous and was baby talking to him. Did not go well at all! 😂 Next time I was more chill and no baby talk and it went WAY better! So sometimes I don't think baby talk is the way to go. Keep up the good work 💪😊

At the first snap he attempted to do, you should have muzzled him and shortened his table leash, so you didn't have to spend so much extra time evading getting bit-You did an incredible grooming job on a four-legged disaster! I know because I have been grooming animals for 35 years and I know an excellent groomer when I see them

I can't believe a person can allow their dog to get so matted and dirty. Poor baby. He's a good dog. I'm sure he feels better. Those mats pull in the skin from different directions and they hurt.☹

Funny you should mention that about groomers baby talking to dogs. I have yet to hear a groomer baby talk to a dog on RU-vid. 😂 I don’t see what the big deal is. Dogs need to know who is the master. You can be firm and clear and still be loving. I find my dog feels much more secure knowing I’m the boss and I will take care of her. I’ll have her back when needed. I also make sure she follows rules I set up, like how to behave around humans. She feels more secure when she follows rules. I give her plenty of direction and plenty of affection. It works for both of us. I think it works for all dogs. You showed you were the boss to that dog and still showed some sensitivity when it was nervous as you were working on its legs. Kudos to you. I think you are a good groomer. I’d be confident taking my dog to you. BTW, my wife and I never baby talked to our kids either. We always spoke proper English. Now they have pretty much the best vocabulary skills among their peers. 😂

My toy poodle became bold from clipper burn the whole of her body, from flyffy fur to totally bold, but I dont realize at first why is she become bold, but after I took grooming class, than I know why my little baby is bold, is from the hot clipper that being use non stop to long, when I 2ant to complaint, they already clised, I think some body sue them because of same problem that happend to my doggy, so I am surprice you dont change the blade or spray it the whole time you use the clipper to this doggy.

That's weird that people tell you that you shouldn't work with dogs because you don't baby talk to them. I'm pretty sure the dog doesn't care how you talk to him as long as you're kind.

I have a Maltese Shitzu mix and I brush him twice a day. He loves that time of brushing

I want to say that you are just as good as Mary Beth, as I watch her channel. Terrible this poor dog got into this state, and terrible to hear this was a rescue dog. You did a very good job!

A comment about you not talking all choo choo choo to the dogs. I have spent several years in the Northwest Territories, Canada and have gotten to know world famous mushers and learned from them not to babble at the dogs. It stresses them possibly by exciting them when you need them to be calm. Point being there is definitely no prerequisite method to creating a calm environment for the grooming process.

First time watching you groom you are very patient but I think you should muzzle the dog for your safety also I would like to see every thing like the bath just every thing and someone else mentioned the audio could be better the dog looks so much better and for sure feels better

I would wait a few moments fot the dog to calm down and not go at him relentlessly without a hug break. There is nothing wrong with being a little kinder and gentler with them. Many animals are frightened by the sounds of the electric clippers yet I never see any groomers putting a bit of cotton in the dog’s ears to help deaden that awful sound. Anyway, you get the job done expertly but I can still see how a dog might not want to come back again.

Hi this is m y first time watching You...I only watch 1 other groomer & I do watch them consistency...Can I ask where you live country wise? I think Youre a Great Groomer I cldnt do it as I have the Tremors (get a visual what the dog wld end up looking like lol lol) The only thing was the audio & I saw you made a comment about that...just I think You had the dryer going & then the puppy etc I found that distracting But as I said Great Job sad the owners have let Bernie get so bad!!! I just discovered your channel. I love your demeanor with the dogs. My only suggestion would be if you could please either speak louder or get a mike. It's so hard to hear you over the clippers and other background noise. I think you're phenomenal.

That poor dog is telling her that it hurts in the only way he can, and she’s telling him off for it, ignoring his pleas, and continuing to do the thing that’s hurting him. He’s telling you to stop. Talking in a calm tone or not speaking at all is the best way to deal with dogs under stress. Baby talking or high pitched sounds only increases their energy and anxiety. Clearly the people who told you to baby talk haven’t a clue about dog behavior or grooming. Dogs pick up on people energy and the low laid back demeanor you have is ideal for what you are doing.

Don’t you change the blades . Clipper burn can happen. I groom my dog and I know the blades get really hot

Those who complain about baby talk are clueless with animal behavior. Baby talk excites the animal making it dangerous for the animal and groomer. You have the perfect demeanor.

I watched you for the 1st time groom a dog tonight and you did a fine job. I know a lot of groomers that would have a muzzle on that dog before he even looks sideways. You were in control no you didn't baby talk but you were totally nice and you did a great job I really liked the way you handled yourself and handle the dog and I will definitely be watching you more good job!
