I’m 69 and have been playing for 59 of those years. Just when I think I’ve seen the best, now Matteo Mancuso comes along! Bravo!

I've been listening to some fabulous guitar players and composers for over 50 years and playing guitar for just as long. This guy is re-writing the standard / definition of excellence - and he's only getting started.

Absolutely stunning, Matteo! Reminded me of some of my favourite playing from Ralph Towner.

WOW, Matteo just made my number 1 guitarist position, nothing he can not play! Above all the present greats, He is the total package of technique and style, excellent phrasing and dynamics, his right hand is golden, no one does it like him.He is the new next level up. The thing about this guy is not only skills(There are some terryfying octopuses out there) however, his musicianship is something else. This the choice of Harmony and where is taking us musicially as the melody travels is just something of a awe-inspiring quest.

All the naysayers: " But he doesn't have any original material." Matteo: " Hold my electric guitar" I truly hope that this is the beginning of this amazing player's original content. He's been absorbing and perfecting so many styles. Now it's time to hear what Matteo has to say with his instrument!

You're the best guitarist in the world. Seriously. I've seen the best in the world live & close...Julian Bream, Alan Holdsworth, Van Halen, etc...but you sir are everything all rolled up into one person. Just everything.

Yeah, other players have tapped the top of a classical guitar before, but the way in which Matteo has incorporated pentatonics, dissonant/fusion chords, harmonic minor colorings-- just the WAY he has blended techniques and influences (love the nods to Eric Johnson,) while conveying emotion and still being uniquely HIMSELF.... it is mind blowing. Absolutely mind blowing. And the fact that not ONLY can he express a unique identity on classical guitar but ELECTRIC guitar too?! What a gift to the musical world! :)

I have been on a binge for days watching Matteo doing covers and even an interview, and still had not heard an original piece from him. So this is just lovely. I think this guy has become my favorite new player almost overnight, for so many reasons. His tastes and influences are quite expansive and that right hand technique is just plain terrifying. Consider: you might not think Matteo is the GOAT, but I am struggling to think of a guitar player (Guthrie, Vai, Satch, even Holdsworth) that could sit down and play like that with their fingers. Even if it was their own song. This dude is the real deal folks, keep your eyes and ears on him.

The classical guitar forces you to rely on the guitar, your fingers and your soul only -ideally no backing tracks! Pure musical alchemy! I loved it! Excellent! You should do more solo pieces, without backing tracks -just like this. You can even do it with clean sound on an electric. I'd love to see you do a full, neo-classical/jazz-fusion solo guitar concert! Excellent playing! It is a pleasure to hear you play. You have both soul and amazing technique and skill! Bravo!

It’s a little early to crown him as the greatest, he’s so young and yes he is redefining how to play guitar and doing it in a way never seen before, but when he develops his own voice (which with the way he continues to improve) then he will be considered one of the greatest … I love his playing … but sometimes it’s what is said musically with as few notes as possible that is the best … 👍

And, now, as guitarists, we get a generation of guitarists, that have pushed the instrument into directions that seem almost impossible. Right at the top of the heap is this lad from Italy. A true maestro. Imagine what he will do as he ages!! Wonderful time to be alive.
