This one is not really a dedication, just a big show for the opening. Included is a video of the first people to ever climb the Matterhorn. There was a 10 minute dance, but it was very...uneventful, so i cut it down-significantly.
A special for the 4th anniversary of the park.
I will not post the entire broadcast because it really is just dull. AND PACKED WITH KODAK SPOTS. However, I am uploading the key moments.

When I was a kid, I would use 4 of my 5 E-tickets on this ride!

Thanks for posting ths too! The Matterhorn is another favorite of mine. It's not as flashy as some, but it's still just one of the most fun.

Mike Sherrick who did the last rappel made the first ascent of the northwest face of Half Dome in Yosemite a few years later.

Technically, the characters made specifically for Kingdom Hearts (Sora, Riku, O13, etc) are owned by Square, not Disney. I don't think a Kingdom Hearts ride is feasible.

I rode it again last year. I hadn't remembered it being that rough. It feels like rolling down a mountain in a trash can.

i don't like to be in the front pf the ride. n b4 you had to sit between ppl legs. i mean if u were with a guy it was kool but if it was a female it would look a lil wried. i am glad they change the seats. but they need to pad the seats.

Hard to believe all these mega steel looping roller coasters can trace thier lineage to this coaster. This was the worlds first steel roller coaster.

there was a basketball court that used to in the top of matterhorn..climbers could go there and play basketball to take a break.

i can imagine opening day for star wars land it is going to nightmare crazy.

What loinhearted76 said is not true. The court, which is nothing more than a basketball hoop, was not added until later. Also, Anaheim did not have building codes until the 1970s! Last year the hoop was taken down due to dry rot.
